League Cup draw
Closest to a home game for me and I could have got tickets through a Cove fan but am respecting the rule that only home fans should attend for now. However, I am reasonably confident that that rule will ease at some point in the season.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
We had a poll on here which, at the time, demonstrated overwhelming support for the appointment. I am certain that had a further poll been conducted by mid season the result would have been rather different.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
Although, the vast majority of posters on this site, including myself, were delighted when Ritchie Foran was appointed as manager. Sadly, the vast majority of us and the board of directors were entirely wrong.

Inverness CT -V- Peterhead - League Cup
I don't want to jinx it but personally I am more optimistic and enthusiastic about the season ahead than any time since our relegation. There are probably half a dozen teams in the division capable of winning it and we are, without any doubt, one of them. We have a decent, well balanced squad with just about the right mix of youth and experience and a head coach who has made a very promising start to his time at the club both towards the end of last season and the beginning of this.

Inverness CT -V- Peterhead - League Cup
I am double vaccinated and have no health issues that make me particularly vulnerable to Covid. I have no personal fear. Others are not so fortunate. The people being referred to were not being asked to do anything onerous but merely to remain in their seats for a few minutes more. Not much to ask and actually a condition of being permitted to attend the game. Utterly selfish behaviour.

Inverness CT -V- Peterhead - League Cup
Thank for the comprehensive summary helpful for us only able to view on stream or not at all. I would disagree somewhat with your last comment. Perhaps the club does need to tighten up stewarding but the main fault lies with the idiots too impatient to leave in breach of very clear instructions in the face of a still accelerating global pandemic. If they are unable or unwilling to obey the rules they should stay at home for the foreseeable future for the sake of the responsible fans who do care for the safety of their fellow human beings some of whom, through no fault of their own, may remain particularly vulnerable.

2021/22 Season
The First Minister has today confirmed the maximum number for crowds seated outside will rise to 2,000 from next Monday 19th July. With a further easing, possibly to full capacity, due on 9th August, the signs are that we will all be able to enjoy almost a full season much closer to normal.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
I don't need him to play for the shirt. I just want him to play with commitment and to the best of his abilities which, as a seasoned professional, I have every confidence that he will.

I agree. If Billy gets decent service he will be a threat at Championship level and could yet make up for being part of the team that got us relegated by helping to lift us back up. A new season, a fresh start for everyone, fans back in the ground. Much to look forward to. Let's start by taking all three points against a decent looking Peterhead side this evening.

It would be far more of a concern if we were giving players of that age longer contracts.

Euro 2020
I am sure that the great majority of England fans are decent people but there remains an element of yobs and racists. The Scottish national team is followed by many fewer yobs than England but we have our fair share of racists even among fans of ICT. Things are, without doubt, better than the days when Mark Walters got pelted with bananas from the terraces with only a passing mention and very little outrage in the Scottish media but there remains work to be done and progress to be made.

Andrew Shinnie was significantly later and the only player, so far, to have a full Scotland cap while actually playing for the club.

2021/22 Season
Getting excited. Somehow, last season seemed both surreal and unreal. This feels like the first start to a proper football season for to years and, with a new manager and a refreshed squad as well as fans back in the ground, there are real grounds for optimism.

Euro 2020
Sadly, all to predictable but thel social media platforms and criminal authorities need to pull out all the stops to to identify those England 'fans' who have been directing abhorrent and disgraceful racist abuse at the three young men who either missed penalties or had them saved and, once identified, they need to be properly punished with, in the worst cases at least, significant custodial sentences. Enough is enough.

Euro 2020
I think that is a bit harsh on England. Yes, they had the advantage of playing all but one of their games at home, but they are a very decent side who probably were the second best in the tournament.

It did. To the only nation in the final where it had been before.

Another thoroughly entertaining game with Italy deserved winners.

Maybe one more defender and we undoubtedly have a squad which, competently coached and managed, is capable of challenging for promotion.

I am familiar with the facility and drive past most days so am not surprised at the issues encountered. I actually know the 'irate farmer' and you were fortunate that it was cows released into the field! However, thanks for the long range report and your efforts are very much appreciated.

2021/22 SPFL Trust Trophy
It was ridiculous that a country as small as ours had two separate codes, never the twain shall meet, of adult professional football. Wonderful to see the closed shop that was the senior league system being gradually opened up with the next step, from next season, being teams from the North Caledonian League or Junior Suoer League given the opportunity to play off with the team finishing foot of the Highland League provided the former meet minimum criteria. Just a pity that it took over a century of self protectionist, self interested, pulling up of the draw bridge to even begin the process.
