  1. Four points from our next two games will go a long way to dispelling any lingering fears of relegation.
  2. Such results in the past have had very littlepositive effect on attendances.
  3. What a body blow that must have been for unfermline who must have thought that they had us in their sights.
  4. I suspect that we will need to replace Brown, Dods and Dargo either now or in the summer. No easy task!
  5. It seems to me that saturday's match at East End Park is probably the most crucial we have played since beating St Johnstone to secure promotion. Win and we are ten points away from the foot possibly even having climbed place in the table. Confidence will be largely restored and our opponents' confidence will take another knock. In that event we can concentrate on looking towards the top six rather than down towards the trap door. Lose, on the other hand, and we will be firmly in relegation territory confidence further dented and Dunfermline with their tales up the rest of the season my well be a relegation dog fight. However, if we repeat our firt half showing of last week, hopefully with the defence being a little tighter Iam sure we can extend our great SPL record against the Pars nd begin to banish the spectre of relegation for the season.
  6. I remember that Killie "goal" I've never sen a ball so far over the line withut a goal being given. Pity we lost the replay.
  7. I would be surprised if he was anything more than a bit player coming off the bench from time to time.
  8. Very good site. Great idea.
  9. Tend to agree that it's a good move on the whole but much more needs to be done by the trust to raise its profile and recruit new members.

Much more encouraging. Moe of the same on saturday and we are likely to be ten points clear of the foot of the tabe.
  11. The biggest problem would be lack of match fitness. What's the point in offering a short term contract to a player who is likely to take half it's duration to get match fit ?

Apart from the Celtic game not long after the USH was installed, have we ever lost another gane to a waterlogged pitch ?

As for the immediate future, success will be remaining above Dunfermline until the conclusion of the season. A fourth consecutive season at SPL level would be quite a feat for a club witgh our resourses and fan base.
  14. Well done lads, that must bode well for the future.
  15. And your point is ?
  16. Iain Stewart is also in the frame.
  17. We have to play everybody a least once before the split.
  18. The English Premiership is attractive toinvestors because it's awash with TV money. Almost £40,000,000 for a mid ranking club next season.
  19. :003: :003: Merry Christmas Johndo.
  20. What we need is a more creative and less predictible midfield. The forwards are all capable of scoring if they received more and better service.
  21. My fear that Dundee United, once ten points adrift of us, might finish the season ahead of us doesn't seem so baseless now. My biggest worry is that they've wiped out that advantage much more quickly than I thought possible six weeks go.
  22. Fergie would have enjoyed it without doubt.

Given our resourses, or rather the lack of them, we have no right to expect to remain in the SPL season after season. The fact of the matter is that we only have to finish the season above one other side. We have an eight point head start over Dunfermline ad Falkirk are likely to be pretty toothless if they lose Anthony Stokes in the transfer window with Lapaty also likely to be far less effective on the heavy winter pitches.
