    Sanchez

Perhaps Sanchez was allowed to travel back to Spain for xmas/just before xmas? Which meant he hadn't had the same level of training and preparation as the other lads...? Could be a factor behind not getting a nod. Either way, I reckon he'll get a start v. Elgin; along with Gil and maybe Sutherland leading the line. A subs appearance before then is overdue though.
  2. TB himself said the young lads and Esson were the only good performers on Sunday. I'd like Sutherland to start again.
  3. Quite glad to read about kilmarnock's apparent goalkeeping crisis, but I remember having similar thoughts ahead of a Georgia 2 - 0 win over Scotland; when they gave a 17 year old his first cap in goals. I have no idea what to expect after watching Sunday's game. But i'd like to see us go with a simple 4-4-2 formation and use the youth/drive of Sutherland and Ross on either wing, feeding Foran and Rooney up front.
  4. Are they joining with these other players?:
  5. A wee piece in the Scotland on Sunday

    Snow Alert

Not that bad at all. Everyone was fairly sensible and kept their distances in case of a need for sharp breaking. Between 40 and 55mph was the norm all the way from Aberdeen, which meant a 2hr journey to Elgin.

    Snow Alert

Well that's me safely back at the folks in Elgin, with full intentions to head through to Inverness on Sunday. The roads from Aberdeen were pretty good, as long as you stayed at a sensible 50mphish. Looking forward to any updates on the game on/off status. I see Killie v. Hearts is called off... Has the pitch been cleared? Is there any more snow forecast?
  8. That'd be the team I'd pick but I reckon TB will pick Eric ahead of Danny, as he's started more games and grabbed some important goals. Danny might come on second half as a sub I reckon like the Hibs game

    Snow Alert

How's the pitch looking? Game on?
  10. The game where we were two to the good in ten minutes? That'll be the one that I turned up 11 minutes after kickoff and didn't know we were winning until half time As I'll be too hungover to drive and trains aren't running (?) I'll be going along to Elgin City v. Clyde. See what our upcoming Scottish Cup opposition are like this season. Well that's the Elgin City game cancelled because of snow, so it now looks like I will make the jaunt through to Inverness

  12. The Sun story on his injury
  13. Was thinking the other day about possible lineups for this game, to try and rest some of our first teamers; who have played nearly every game this season! A fringe 11 could be: -------------Tuffey--------------- McCann*---Innes-----Munro©----Golabek Sanchez---Morrison--McBain----Gil -------Sutherland----Odi-------- * If still on loan I'd imagine though that there wouldn't be too many changes from the first 11 team, as Terry won't be taking Elgin lightly. When is the transfer window open? If Terry manages to get some of his (already identified) targets in, then they could come into reckoning.
  14. ABSOLUTELY MENTAL weather in the Ipswich v. Leicester match just now; really can't believe they are playing this game, as you can't see a blade of grass from the snow. It doesn't look like letting up either! The good news for Roy Keane and us is that they are winning 3-0 with 30 mins to go. That should take some heat off Keane for now
  15. Which strikers (past and present) would you have loved to play alongside? Who was the toughest defender(s) you've been up against?
  16. I've got a lot of family and friends in Elgin wanting to know the same thing. I would've thought it'd be announced by now; since there's been stories in the papers about Rangers v Killie pricing problems
  17. Quite handy we have some connections with a major oil company and their legal team, perhaps...?
  18. That is fantastic news for the club. That money is a massive sum for us. Knowing that we don't have to pay it out will allow us extra funds to build on the current squad and offer extended/improved deals to existing members. What an excellent couple of weeks/months we've had!

    Suspensions.

Is it 5 yellows before you receive a one match suspension?
  20. I think the refs are doing a fair and honest job, but as the Old Firm generally get more attacking play in a match; there will be more opportunities for them to be awarded penalties/dangerous free kicks et al. With every Old Firm away game being televised live, it also allows replay after replay of dodgy decisions until the media and public can jump to their own conclusions. It also doesn't help when the Old Firm players play act as often as they do, making refereeing even harder. See Lafferty v. Mulgrew/Aberdeen, Nakamura v. St Mirren, Lennon v. Juanjo/ICT, Lovenkrands v. Thomson/Celtic, McCulloch yesterday... the list goes on. It's up to the club to sort these clowns out, as they are making the referees difficult job even more impossible. Out of interest, does anyone still have the video/GIF of Juanjo v. Lennon? I remember it being posted last year and I forgot to bookmark/save it.
  21. Attendances are down at every club, for reasons such as prices, team form, weather, lack of cash available in tough financial times... I don't think our attendance is down on previous seasons in the SPL, in fact it may even be a little higher. All that considering the reduction in away support on previous seasons e.g. Hamilton when they were up at the start of the season, The Dons failing to sell out the away end. Are the club still giving away tickets to local schools for the uncovered west stand?? When you see the attendances St Mirren and Hamilton are getting, I'm quite happy with ours. If the good form continues and the chances of a top 6 are cemented; then I imagine the crowds will continue to rise. A top 6 placing would be a huge financial boost to the club, with something like ?60-70k for each place higher we finish and the promise of 2 or 3 high home attendances in the final 5 games. Cash like this is invaluable in helping retain our best players.
  22. With Tokely, Duncan and Foran picking up yellow cards, adding to the ones they have been given earlier in the season... surely a one match ban will be on the cards soon? As far as i'm aware, we still have the best discipline record this season. Could we get a European place from that???
  23. I thought they had 6 months left on their deal when the Dons swooped? Which they kept quiet, so that the Dons would give us a higher sum to sign them.
  24. Yes there are , Sir Ian Wood is rumoured to be taking over as Chairman . I didn't realise you were on speaking terms to everyone in Aberdeen RossP Not everyone, but I am on speaking terms with one of the caretaker bosses for Aberdeen, several of their first team, their Head of Youth Development and many of their Administration staff. Add that to the many Dons fans I work with, play football with and go for pints with; in addition to the Northsound/P&J Sports desk staff that my partner works with. Not one has ever mentioned this outlandish rumour about Sir Ian Wood becoming Chairman. Hell, even a quick search of AFC Chat brings up nothing about it! But then... you might have better connections than I.
  25. New chairman willing to spend?? There are zero rumours in Aberdeen about that. Why would Milne leave now when in a few years he'll be able to turn Pittodrie into flats?
