  1. I'm sure St Mirren charge £10 for unemployed every game.
  2. Are people actually having a go at the club trying new things to get extra people along ? I think it's a good idea actually. Although I'd probably just restrict it to Army ?
  3. Currently at a game in Spain where I've noticed a certain Roman Golobart is in the starting line up for Elche CF
  4. The hilarious part was everyone thinking he was serious.
  5. There's no core left in our team. Tremarco hasn't played this season, you might as well mention Doran as well. Mulraney is an experienced player? One season with us where we got relegated.... As for polworth he has been on the fringes of our team for years and just isn't good enough. We have a new squad that needs time to gel. Please tell me how many teams that get relegated go back up the next season. I can only think of 2 or 3 in the last 20 years. Settling for mid table obscurity this season is ok with me, as long as the performances come and we look like we are getting somewhere. The top half of the Championship can easily compete with the bottom half of the premier. Something we couldn't even manage last season with a better squad.
  6. I believe 1-1 is acceptable actually. They finished 4th last season and are a decent side. Losing 1-0 to Utd by a penalty is also unfortunate. However the way we lost to Dunfermline is what's annoyed most people I think. Lets be honest we should be heading for mid table this season and hoping for a snatch at the playoffs. If we don't beat Brechin then we are in for a long hard season. It's interesting to see Falkirk rock bottom on 1 point too.
  7. Our youth players couldn't even beat Arbroath in the bottom tier last season. Where did they finish in the league? Almost bottom? Whenever I went along to watch them they were terrible.
  8. Spot on DD.
  9. Another good example would be kris doolan who was playing junior football with auchinleck Talbot when partick thistle signed him.
  10. I'm genuinely interested to why people think Dunfermline are going to have such a good season this year. They've only brought in 2 or 3 players and got rid of about 10. Do people know something I don't? for what it's worth... Dundee Utd Falkirk Caley St Mirren Morton
  11. When is Doran going to be fit? I felt we struggled with no real wingers in that game. We were relying on the full backs for putting in the crosses a little too much.
  12. I was doubting if this match was even on tonight. Everyone on the Brechin thread was talking about Falkirk and nothing about Stirling.
  13. I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for renegade last night. Id also have already left the house by the time Inverness decided to tell the public.
  14. I see there's a few having a melt at the players we are linked with. I'll be reserving judgement until I see them play for us.
  15. We signed Richie Hart from the Highland League when we were in the first. He turned out to be a great signing for us.
  16. Seems a strange one on why he wouldn't go. Aberdeen have lost Hayes, Pawlett, McGinn and Jack in midfield. Surely his time was up at Aberdeen now. I really can't see them improving on the great past few seasons they've had.
  17. I'm quite impressed by those numbers actually. Almost 500 for Cowdenbeath? I don't think they'd get much more or any more than that against us:
  18. I've been to a few development games this season and a few in the lowland league too. There isn't much difference in terms of crowds at all. It's also likely they won't romp the leagues as they are just young boys learning their trade. I prefere the idea to loans. I would love Inverness and County to have B teams in the highland league rather than a development league. It gives the players a chance to play competitive football in a team that is almost going to be mimicking the big side so when they are ready they will fit in with tactics etc. I really don't see the issue with having them in at tier 5, highland/lowland level. Mantis as a fan of Whitehill Welfare what would be your opinion on playing a Hibs + Hearts colt side?
  19. I'd welcome Nick Ross back in a heart beat. How many players are we going to be capable of signing who has played as much as him in the top league and still have a good few years in him. He would be a great signing for the championship.
  20. I'm not quite sure what would happen if Stranraer B won the South of Scotland. Would the team in second automatically be chosen for promotion or would no one achieve promotion that year? The idea is to start the colt teams in the 5th tier. This would create a new league in the west which is highly needed for other clubs to progress up the pyramid. Adding Rangers and Celtic colts into a Lowland West would give teams like Auchinleck, Clydebank, Pollok, etc a chance to gain promotion without too much travel. Other teams such as Glasgow uni, Cumbernauld colts, East Kilbride, bsc glasgow would also then slip in. The only issue I have with it is the level they are able to move up to. I think the Lowland/highland league should be the cut off, or if it's in league 2 then regardless of where they finish in the league another team is promoted in their place.
  21. So Hibs, Spartans, Stranraer, Stirling have all had colt teams in the past and no one bats an eyelid. What is the difference here? Is it just a hatred towards the OF? I don't get it.
  22. Welcome back Robbo! I'm actually quite excited by this, I know he hasn't done much in a few years now but I still think he has a better pedigree than Sheerin. We can start looking forward to the signings now and only a couple weeks until the friendlies start rolling in. I had a worry that we wouldn't be good enough for top 4 this season but I'm now confident Robbo is the man to get us there in what will be a very tough league. He brought in some excellent players last time and I don't see why that would be any different now.
