  1. 3566 was very disappointing and it reiterates my point regarding what born and bred invernessians think of ICT To be fair to the club I don't really know what more they can do to try and entice people to attend Dougal

    Pies

A pie and a bovril is very much part of the matchday experience and it has been for generations of fans and long may it continue. Doesn't surprise me the likes of Bannerman can't get his head round it but when your munching your way through free sandwiches and guzzling cappuccinos he never will Our neighbours seem to have the right idea using a local baker for their pies, you only have to look at threads on P&B to see how highly they are rated by away fans travelling north Dougal
  3. The exact same question could be asked about your experience/knowledge prior to 1994 Regardless football has become a lot less enjoyable in modern times, no longer the working mans game the middle class moved in and the game is slowly dying Dougal
  4. Wouldn't it have been wonderful back in the day had the Scottish Cup format been like this when the Highland League was really strong Without doubt many more so called stronger senior outfits would have a lot more eliminations to non league teams It would have also highlighted how much Thistle had actually deteriorated in their last ten years of existence Dougal
  5. The complete silence alone and the failure to respond says it all You might be interested I'm thinking of writing a book regarding athletics in the 1980s in particular the great rivalries between Seb Coe, Steve Ovett and Steve Cram in the 800m and 1500m I will be honest I'm not an avid athletics man by any means but I'm sure if I tell everyone I'm an expert someone might believe me Dougal
  6. Maybe Chris77 might moderate with less of an iron hand? I'm certainly no expert on either but twitter and Facebook do seem to prize fans away from traditional fans forums You are more likely to get both sides of opinions on twitter and Facebook whereas you tend to get a happy clapping one sided blinkered view on some club forums Dougal
  7. Afraid Yogi showed a real lack of professionalism at full time, the way he greeted the opposition and particularly John Collins any neutral would have thought they were celebrating a win for the same team Think it's time a one of his employers maybe had a wee word in his ear regarding his Celtic love interest as if it continues he could find himself ostracised Performance was ok I guess but bearing in mind this is the worst Celtic team since the early nineties I agree there is a hell of a lot to work on Dougal
  8. What was the lad meant to do put on the Celtic top which he would have been requested to do so by his new employers and sit with a glum face to please the likes of yourself? He should have refrained wearing the top until after this loan deal whether that be in January or the summer All he has now done is alienate himself to a section of the ICT support Dougal
  9. Musta been from before CB jumped on the football bandwagon..appalling lack of knowledge for a so-called football 'journalist'. Ah'm no County fan, but even I can name a few--Albert Allan, Jim Oliver, Hamish Morrison (played for Caley, ye heard of them), Herchie (ffs), some guy Walter Brown ah think (wee Glasgow guy at the front, good player), Duffers and Davie Jackson (also played for that Telford Street team). And no, it's not Stevie Polson ffs. Good point well made Danger We should maybe start a thread on the workings of the Bunsen burner or the breakdown of the periodic table. I personally am not that qualified to discuss the topic in depth but I can certainly post some inane comments Dougal
  10. I just pray these two boys were properly scouted and they have been on the radar for a while, the last thing we need is two journeymen who possibly could be panic loans due to the horrific injury problems we are presently experiencing Extra pressure will be on both their shoulders but we need to give them a chance to see what they are made off Dougal
  11. I personally find this Celtic / ICT love in pretty repulsive, seeing Ryan in the various tabloids this morning decked out in a Celtic top giving it the the thumbs up was really disrespectful no matter which way some try to cover it up Both clubs have handled this transfer badly, surely a better way would have been for him to have signed a pre contract that made him switch at the end of the season sparing us the pics of him decked out in the hoops of hate Getting him loaned back is like a kick in the teeth in my opinion Unfair singling out Ryan though as there appears to be an unhealthy problem within the ICT fanbase where a large number seem to support two SPFL clubs Regardless I wish him the best when he eventually heads down the A9 whenever that is, providing he is given the chance at Celtic I've no doubt he will hopefully use it as a stepping stone to the English Premiership Dougal
  12. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/inverness-ct-cup-win-can-heal-divide-nick-ross-1-3783047 His words not mine, fair play to young Nick for having the balls to address the subject and not sweep it under the carpet like caleyjagsforever and the local press Who knows he could be right interest in ICT surely would increase with a Cup win although I suspect it would be more the younger generation and the incomers again that will increase Dougal
  13. Great if the Victorian Market Shop became a permanent shop, or at least a premises could be sought for the summer months at least to target the tourists that flood into town One thing for sure due to the location of Caledonian Stadium the tourist trade is not being targeted as much as it should Dougal
  14. Is it fine though? It's only a couple of thousand more than we took to the League Cup Final albeit the League cup final was on a Sunday County took double what we took to their semi with Celtic and took 17-18k to their cup final against Dundee Utd I think we will be lucky to break the 10k mark which is still a good turn out but that figure will be a mixture of a minority of Invernessians, incomers to Inverness and neutrals Let's not kid ourselves here Invernessians wouldnt embrace ICT even if it was the Champions League Final, anyone who tries to argue with this is seriously deluded Regardless what number of tickets we have sold our club should be disclosing the numbers as it adds to the excitement of the run up Dougal
  15. Can only assume you will abstain from voting as I can't see Sinn Fein having many candidates in Lancashire Dougal
  16. With all due respect the ones that queued today created the problem not the ICT staff ICT are right not employing extra staff when money is so tight, unless there are going to be one hell of an amount of neutrals attending tickets will be on sale right up until kick off I'd be surprised if the final attracts 40k but I will be quite happy if proved wrong I will wait till all the glory hunters get their tickets before I venture to the stadium to get mine when there is No queue!! Dougal
  17. The fact that you still know the words to the tripe you sung in the jungle speaks volume Wonder have you seen as many ICT games as you've seen Septic? I very much doubt it I reckon Maybe a new thread should be started to determine this, wonder has Davie surpassed the number of games he's been to at Tannadice? Dougal
  18. Well done Yogi fully deserved An amazing achievement no matter what the outcome of the final The real test comes next season though with the departure of key players but despite our poor form the future looks promising Dougal
  19. Drew Hendry must be one happy man as Bannerman has increased the popularity of the SNP in this area on a large scale with his ridiculous inane ramblings No need for the SNP to spend serious money on a electoral campaign when they have this roaster doing it for them I've never been a SNP voter in the past but I'm nearly swayed reading his rubbish, the last time I've read so much garbage I think it was when I had the misfortune to read some of "Against All Odds" Let's face it he wasn't voted the worst poster in CTO history for nothing Dougal
  20. You can hardly compare normal run of the mill home league games to a national cup final If so called supporters can't get enough enthusiasm to join in the atmosphere well quite frankly they shouldn't be there. There are plenty of libraries and art exhibitions in Glasgow for that kind of behaviour Dougal
  21. The SFA are panicking that Hampden will be half full hence the dramatic price reduction Let's not kid ourselves in thinking that they are doing this for the good of the fans for both clubs Dougal
  22. Travelling from Inverness, born in Raigmore and raised in Inverness and somewhat in the minority judging by this thread Dougal
  23. Butcher still sees himself as an Orc, don't be surprised to see him working with McCall yet suppose it all depends on what happens with the play offs Butcher is history can't believe some ICT fans still seem to have some weird obsession with him or maybe that's just the ones that enjoy a foray to Govan now and again Dougal
  24. Had this door opened twenty odd years ago we would have seen a different Inverness team facing Falkirk at Hampden next month I'm all for this opportunity for non league teams to make the step up, for decades Scottish Football has been stale in the lower regions Not entirely sure where Montrose will go should they be demoted though should Brora be the ones that take their place Dougal
  25. It's the Scottish Cup Final ffs the entire ICT support including the suited wallopers in Caleyjagsforever should be the singing section Do you think Falkirk fans are asking this question on their forum...??? NO!!! Ridiculous thread and in my opinion should be deleted to prevent further embarrassment Dougal
