  1. not sure how you would look at it,before ICT the area around the "dump" was just that, some forthright people in the Highalnds and Islands Enterprise had a vision which included ICT in a place where nobody wanted them!! Some members of the HIE got rich and regaled about how they brought scottish league football to inverness....as for everything else down the "marina" area well that's only come in the last few years, long after HIE ceased to exist and Mr Sutherland got a grip to make yet another beautiful landscape on the Inverness horizon. The biggest council housing estate in the western world is how i would describe Inverness, all created by our once director Mr Sutherland,.does his bit for the community and charity(in a tim nice but dim way) all round good guy who doesn't ever think about his bank balance before the city Err, Ok?
  2. I'd agree that TCS isn't in the greatest location for amenities however was their ground not opened in the 20's? I'd have imagined the village / town grew out and around the ground rather than the other way around.
  3. With all the big boy games off for the winter break, anyone else thinking of heading down for this to get their football fix? Quite fancy it, not been to Grant St in ages. Heard it's £8 to get in, anyone know if that's right?
  4. It's a thread about the merger boy . You probably weren't even born when we were scrapping with other likeminded lads all over the Highlands . i wasnt saying dont talk about the merger. i said stop with the bitterness. scrapping? harcore mun Those were the glory days grasshopper when we pulverised Putridheid, battered the Broch, destroyed Deveronvale, bruised the Buckie, K.O'd Keith, hammered Huntly, Rogered Rothes, looted Lossie, exterminated Elgin, flattened Forres, clattered the Clach, jettisoned the jeggies and crucified the County. And Fraz yer uncle had the best feckin name ever but never bought a drink Quite frankly, I'm shocked he took a drink... At least you had more sense and are now watching Premier League football and another person is now following Wick Academy! Very true mun!
  5. It would seem he was also a Rangers supporter until they died too...
  6. Opinion or fact? (Source please)
  7. I'm no happy clapper and I haven't agreed with many of Butcher's decisions throughout his tenure but that's a bit silly imo.
  8. This has been an entertaining thread thus far. Clearly there are still some people who are still very upset and bitter by the merger, my uncle who used to take me to the Caley games (Ben Gunn) is a refusnik and hates all things ICT related. Perhaps it was because I was 13 at the time of the merger and even though I used to train with Caley F.C. as a child I never really bothered me in a massive way. Here we are nearly 20 years later and by the sounds of it follk are still weeping into their old pictures of Telford St / Kingsmills. Nothing wrong with some fond nostagia but you have to move on and get over it at some point IMO, we have accomplished a great deal in that time and we should be proud of that. Unless someone has a TARDIS to hand that past can never be changed.
  9. Joke of a club. Farce.
  10. They definitely do have covers because we used to borrow them occasionally before we got ours. In saying that, unless they have got new ones, the old ones no longer fit as they widened the pitch in the summer....but ours would fit and they know they can borrow them from us if needed. However, as I said above, from talking to one or two people it seems covering the pitch would make no difference due to the nature of the issue. They may have had them in the past. They don't have them now. Sold them to pay Rossco's wages.
  11. Nick Ross signed a contract extension recently.
  12. I'll be there + 2.
  13. Fraz replied to bigman's topic in Caley Thistle
    It is 3pm
  14. Love how it's 'I was lying on a beach having a holiday most people probably couldn't afford utterly seething about a 3 hour trip to Inverness'. Pathetic whining, jeez I used to work on boxing day years ago when I worked in Burger King getting paid £3.20 an hour.
  15. ETA - lol I'm a bit drunk and only read the last paragraph , then realised it wasn't a question. No more drams for me.
  16. Looking forward to this one hopefully get my drink on if I can find a partner lol.
  17. Fantastic early Christmas prezzie!
  18. Wasn't aware that Caledonian FC played at TCS must have missed that. ETA - my understanding is that it wasn't an even merger with Caley FC 'bringing more to the table' including a greater number of fans so it's not surprising that it is more Caley than Thistle. Though Caley were my wee team (sadly I was was current bun in my yoof) at the time this all happened when I was 13 so it doesn't really bother me at all.
  19. Desperately wants to replace CaleyD as a mod imo.
  20. According to Sky Sports app it's 3pm? Surely it wud have been announced prior to today if it had changed. *shrugs*
  21. That video makes Adams sad.
  22. We are not in a false position imo, we are where we deserve to be due to excellent performances and resilience. Just like we will be where we deserve to be at the end of the season wherever that may be. Not having self belief is something that will only hold back a smaller club.
  23. Costs about the same to get a taxi in Inverness than it does to put a car into the Monaco GP.
  24. Witty, charming, intelligent and devilishly handsome. ;-)
