  1. DUFC have recently scored 12 goals in 3 matches. Brill may have his work cut out. But if we can keep the defence tight, we have our own lethal finishers who can win the day. Remove them now and we don't have to worry about meeting them in the final. Got one eye on Aberdeen, but they have Motherwell to contend with. No doubt the Edinburgh derby will be the one that over-excites the media though.
  2. That was my point Alex. It wasn't different at first, but circumstance meant it became different. Certain teddy bears cannot see that though, because of their in-built persecution complex.
  3. Agree with Alex, and if we are now bookies favourite as mentioned in the Dundee thread then that makes it psychologically harder - we have the weight of expectation whilst every team we meet will want to put out the favourites. Every one a potential Morton. But there is no one there we cannot defeat on our march to cup glory. C'mon ICT!
  4. Which is also why the way Heart of Midlothian was dealt with was different to how Rangers were dealt with. That practical reality pricks the fantasy bubble of the die-hard blue-nose which they don't like, but as is typical of them, it is used as a way of perpetuating this persecution complex they seem to drag around with them.
  5. The comments are quite enlightening as well. The negative ones simply proved the point he was trying to make! Confused as to why voting Yes in 2014 would make any difference though to the kind of vile and abhorrent behaviour that was being reported. Are the YesNP going to round these abusers up and deport them to an island off the British coast where they can wallow in their bitter self-persecution then? In that case I may just change my vote!!
  6. All three charges were for bets under £50 apparently - and in one he actually scored one of the 4 goals in a 4-2 win he had bet for his team to lose! Not exactly a criminal mastermind. And silly boy for betting on the same league he plays in, let alone the same team.
  7. Aye, that's the chips well and truly p****d on then. :-(
  8. My mistake Alex, I thought we were thinking of ways to encourage people through the gates.
  9. For concessions, has there ever been a consideration to include a Forces Discount? Can easily be verified through a MOD90 identification being produced at time of sale and/or entry.
  10. Anyone planning to go from Aberdeen?
  11. Oh, they are not out of danger yet. They still have to play us!
  12. One of my muckers at work is a Tim and he said his mate always bets for Celtic to lose their next league game after a trip away in Europe, as they seem to be statistically prone to defeat. Here's hoping it is true . . .
  13. Population of Germany - 81 million Population of Scotland - 5 million. Population of Dortmond - 580,000 Population of Inverness - 72,000 Does that help make it more sensical for you? You have compared apples with oranges so while still talking fruit, it just isn't the same thing at all. Even Aberdeen, as the 3rd largest city in Scotland, only has a population of around 250,000, half the size of your comparitor. Scottish football has declined to a point where there is only one team still in European competition at this early stage in the season, and the attraction so poor that the main signings over the close season for our top division was mainly swaps amongst themselves! This doesn't counteract a lot of the good points you made in your post, but making comparisons for locations and national cultures that are very different does not bolster your case - quite the opposite in fact.

  15. The biggest laugh was the quote: " "A mountain of work has been done over the summer to get to this point and I believe there is much more that can be done," said SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster." Really? Translates as: "We argued and argued and argued, then wee Hamish said "why dinnae we jus dae whit rae English dae?" and we all agreed. And went to lunch before hitting the course for 18 holes.
  16. What's a League Cup . . . ? Its one of these....... League cup.jpg Twas tongue in cheek Alex. Also known as the Who-Cares Cup. Never really understood it myself - the Scottish Cup, like the FA Cup, seems to take precedence and yet it is one of only two major cup competitions in the season. Strange how people seem to dismiss it so readily. Usually when they are no longer in it of course . . . :-)
  17. When I read the above Alex, I saw it as "banned from singing"! No need, thinks I - they've probably done that already . . .

  21. I never actually knew that! It puts some things into perspective for me now, in a different context. Helpful to know.
  22. Why don't we put up a banner at the next derby - "We promise not to call you Gypos if you promise not to call us Tinks". Surely that would be welcomed as we will all just be stating where we stand on this and wish to be in full compliance of the law.
  23. Reading Dougal is the equivalent of this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22832994 Everyone has an opinion, right enough!
  24. What's his religion got to do with it? Sorry, wrong Forum . . . . ;-D Yes, he definitely looks like a promising prospect but it all depends on how well he adapts, plus the fact he will be a target for the usual suspects who use brute force over ability to put a player out of the game. we will see how he copes with the "attention".
