  1. Just as a reminder, this is Celtic's last game of the season. Because they aren't in the Scottish Cup Final.
  2. Don't worry, be happy! The excitement is perhaps starting to get to me - with Eurovision and the cup final within 7 days of each other, I think I'm going to explode.
  3. I had another of my "playing for ICT" dreams last night. This time it was the cup final. An area of the Hampden pitch was cordoned off to let the grass grow and they forgot to remove the cordon before kick-off, so the ref asked the players to keep the ball away from that area as she didn't know what to do if the ball went in. We made a great start, and a Devine header crashed off the bar back onto his head for him to nod in, 1-0. Then a superb break from David Bingham (!) resulted in a shot and save, the ball rolled to me for an easy tap in and my place in history, but Barry Wilson nipped in front of me to slam it home and take the glory. 2-0 after 22 minutes, and then I woke up.
  4. It was a replica. My understanding is that the actual trophy never ever leaves Hampden. So the only way to see it is to go to the final! The original trophy is insured for £2m, and does actually get presented to the winning team but quickly gets switched for a copy after the lap of honour. Any open-top bus parade uses a replica, which is wise after a Spanish club dropped their cup under the bus wheels a few years ago.
  5. I was just wondering, in a presumptuous kind of way, if there is actually enough space on the trophy for our rather lengthy club name to be engraved. If not what do the SFA do - to avoid any such embarrassment, make sure Falkirk win it? Or use a smaller typeface than usual? Or drop one of the words from our name?
  6. Even worse would have been another Meekings "handling" incident!
  7. "Good morning, County fans. Now, this is what a trophy looks like!"
  8. He played against us last time we were at Arbroath. Let's just say i'd love to see him at County!
  9. What happened is that a Perth based "traditional" car park operator called Town and City Parking got rebranded Smart Parking after being taken over a couple of years ago by an Australian company which produces the defective "smart" technology. UK HQ seems to be Birmingham now.
  10. And it gets a bit awkward when they eventually meet.......
  11. Funny you should mention that. They took over Perth's main multi-storey a few months ago and there has been a lot of local press coverage about their practices. A few days ago I was absolutely fuming when I got one of their £60 demands, knowing that I had fully paid, hadn't overstayed or anything like that. It's one of those places that uses number plate recognition cameras, and you enter your reg when paying at the machine. In our case, we visited the car park twice in the same day, afternoon and the evening, buying separate tickets each time. It seems that their system cannot cope with that! The charge they sent correctly showed us arriving at 2pm and leaving at 9pm, but with no mention of what happened in between! They must know about this flaw in their process and could easily check either the cameras or the payment records to prevent issuing incorrect charges, but they just seem to chance their luck. The other scandalous thing is that they didn't issue the notice until 12 days after the event. With computerised matching etc, there's no reason why they couldn't do this within a day or two, but it is very convenient for them to wait until most people have chucked away their receipts and are left feeling they have no choice but to give in to the threats. Luckily for me, after going through a bin bag, I found the receipts. This proof has been emailed to a local councillor and the local MP who were compiling evidence against this company. Also sent to Trading Standards, and I'll have a look to see if there is an industry body that Smart Parking are supposedly approved by. I still have to respond directly to this inappropriately named company, having stopped myself from replying in the heat of the moment with just 3 words, the first one being "Go..."
  12. A dream/nightmare I've had several times over the years is that I'm drafted in to play as a striker for ICT at TCS. But the game just seems to take place around me, as if I'm not there. I can't keep up with play and don't get anywhere near the ball, despite trying my best. I'd imagine this is what it was like to be Andrew Barrowman.
  13. We've had a great season against Utd, and are in fact unbeaten versus both teams from Dundee. 3 wins and a draw v Utd, and 2 wins and 2 draws v their rivals.
  14. Had a vivid dream that we were in the Europa League final against German side Bochum. At the end of 90 mins, Bochum celebrated wildly, at having kept us to 0-0. There was then a bit of a hoo-haa when they were insisting that it should go straight to penalties rather than extra time. But common sense prevailed, and Tansey scored in the first period which was had me celebrating so much that unfortunately it woke me up and I'll never know how the game ended.
  15. I'veactually got a family holiday in south-west England in the middle of July which is likely to clash with our "maiden" trip into Europe, but I could always miss part of the holiday. In other words, "Devon Can Wait"
  16. What exactly did you sponsor, his sling?!
  17. I remember a few years ago when teams like Rangers and Liverpool chartered planes to their away ties, they were flown by Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson, who kept himself busy when not on tour by working as a commercial pilot. That would be an interesting flight. "6 - 6 - 6, the number of the beast!"
  18. I see this twit Hay suffered an even greater punishment than the one you proposed: the ignominy of being the only SNP candidate in all of Scotland to finish behind Labour!
  19. Influence! Take her to the Tower!
  20. Given that the police, presiding officers and various local authorities have all confirmed that there has not been a shred of evidence of intimidation anywhere in Scotland, perhaps you would confirm where you came by your 'information'. I never said I saw anything that would require police intervention. But at several polling stations there were groups of up to 6 people standing outside, in SNP regalia. Presumably they are there because they believe their presence can influence the vote, otherwise why bother?! I know other parties do it (on a smaller scale) but would it not be preferable for all (including the poor activists) if there was a pact between all the parties to stop doing it altogether?
  21. Que sera sera Whatever will be will be We're going to....Hungary? Que sera sera
  22. And the singing continued til about 5pm, when the players and management reappeared to take a bow!
  23. Yeah, I particularly liked the continental style songs, nice touch guys.
  24. With all the celebration of our achievement, I've only just noticed that we actually got a clean sheet today! This was our first in 15 matches against Premier league sides, since Esson came on for Brill at Hamilton. (we did get one v Raith in the cup though) Esson certainly earned a clean sheet today with a really solid performance and a tremendous save quite late on when it looked like Dundee had equalised.
