  1. Last August we had a young Nigerian striker on trial called Dare Ayodele. A few months ago he signed for Skonto (Riga, Latvia), where he is part of the B team squad. Reminder: http://www.soccerladuma.co.za/news/articles/teams/inverness-caledonian-thistle/rookie-nigerian-striker-dare-ayodele-is-close-to-a-move-to-scotland/174527
  2. It's only a matter of time til Garry O'Connor gets a mention!

I guess that would be the nearest we'll get to a "big name" signing! If he does join us maybe we should just refer to him as "Andy" to save time.
  4. At the front there, is that Johndo making a pre-emptive call to his lawyer and the Bristish embassy?!
  5. Hang on a minute - we qualified for Europe through two different tournaments, so shouldn't we get another bite at the cherry?! In fact Celtic always seem to get two cracks at it even if they only qualify by one method, where's the justice!
  6. In isolation, that was a very good result tonight. Heads held high, at least.
  7. Likewise I'm away on holiday just now, gutted to be missing the ultimate ICT away day but wishing team and fans all the best for a great game and experience.
  8. Obviously disappointing that the home fans had nothing to cheer tonight. Hope that the folk travelling to Romania next week get something to make the trip worthwhile, over and above the beer, banter and camaraderie.
  9. Great home top, a la PSG!
  10. Well, McNamara reportedly gets 10% of all transfer income in order to keep him onside with all the asset stripping that's been going on. As a result, he's been the highest paid manager in Scotland! From what I've been told there's a bit of a civil war between the shareholders, some of whom want their money out of the club.
  11. You'd think, though, that the ticketing system should be capable of leaving that field blank or putting "TBC", rather than stating a false kick-off time!
  12. There's clearly something going on, but IF we are getting into the realms of matters/disputes covered by employment law, it's understandable that the club would want to say as little as possible until it is resolved.
  13. "JJ" certainly makes him sound like a better player than he would if he stuck with Jonathan James Hooper.
  14. http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/InvernessCaledonianThistle.php This "football rumours" website is always a source of amusement and sheer fantasy rather than well founded rumours or insider information. The most recent post is interesting though, suggesting that we are interested in Newport keeper Joe Day. It seems unlikely, given that Newport paid £40,000 for him in January and he is/was first choice keeper. BUT, Butcher (and Marsella) are completely rebuilding the squad, another keeper has been signed, plus we all know how Terry can just take a dislike to a player. But then I'm reminded of my opening statement when I see that the next rumour is that Richie Foran is off to Doncaster Rovers.
  15. Steve Marsella has joined up with Terry Butcher at Newport, in the combined role of goalkeeping coach and scout.
  16. It's absolutely criminal how the manufacturers make tops that are programmed to shrink as soon as you approach middle-age.
  17. Good effort from St Johnstone youth players!

  18. Presumably they managed to buy him out of the Qatar situation which, according to some, prevented him becoming Yogi's assistant back in December 2013. http://www.scotsman.com/news/ex-hibs-man-brian-rice-faces-jail-over-qatar-debts-1-2999216
  19. In keeping with the topic title "Sorry this doesn't look right", here's Shinnie making his competitive debut tonight. Home shorts with away shirt is always a fashion faux pas.
  20. Let's get back on topic. This challenge facing ICT should not be underestimated, as Astra are clearly one of the very best teams in the Romanian SPFL.
  21. Supporters bus sets off from the stadium straight after the home leg. Stops at Broxden as usual, followed by Southwaite Services etc etc etc.
  22. That's 10 years in a row that we've played Clach pre-season. Strangely, ans assuming this websites results history is complete, we hardly ever played them in the days before we reached the SPL.
  23. "Oh Giurgiu.......Is wonderful, Oh Giurgiu Is wonderful. It's got a bridge To Bulgaria! Oh Giurgiu Is wonderful."
  24. So as of a few minutes ago, the new season has started!
  25. Reading all this makes me so jealous that I won't be going on our first European adventure, particularly as it is to an interesting and accessible country that most of us would otherwise never visit. Sods law that the dates happen to clash with the family holiday which was booked last year. Had one of my many weird ICT dreams though. Whilst on holiday, I decided to sneak away to Romania to catch the game. But the missus had hidden my passport precisely to stop me going. So I hired a hot air balloon and a Ford Transit van which would replace the basket underneath, thus enabling me to be able to steer the balloon and have somewhere to sleep on the long journey. However, on lighting the burner, the balloon and van sailed up and away without me, as I had forgotten to rope it to the ground until I was ready to go. You know how you get books which analyse and explain dreams? Incredibly, this scenario is not covered by any of them.
