Courier article has various quotes from Makwana regarding his involvement with and plans for Hayes and Yeading. Most of it sounds good, community building and fan engagement etc, although it also comes across that his knowledge of running a football club stems from binge watching the Wrexham thing on Netflix. https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/meet-the-new-owner-of-caley-thistle-ketan-makwana-who-has-se-356646/

I think that is the only sensible position to take at this stage. Interesting though that so many of our fans have, without any of the necessary information, already concluded very negatively.

The haters are gonna be absolutely devastated that it’s not a Rangers connection!

Notable that the statement includes thanks to Ross Morrison for “continuous workability and open mindedness” which I would take to mean his acceptance that he won’t be getting much of his secured loan back.

We’ll find out in due course, but I’d expect there to be new shares issued and perhaps restructuring of existing share capital structure - all of which would likely have to go to shareholders for approval.

I see that the penalty were taken by our most experienced players - Mckay, Savage, Gilmour and Longstaff. Did anyone notice who was due to take the 5th?

Stunned to hear this, what a sad loss. He was so passionate about ICT and about everything else in his life. Thoughts are with his family in particular. I mentioned Johndo’s passing to my wife, who knew exactly who I meant despite her only having met him a few times in pre-match pubs about 20 years ago - that speaks volumes!

Who is submitting the planning application?!

To identify people who might interrupt the game by going onto the pitch, perhaps? -

Action can only be taken against someone if they are breaking the law or breaching the conditions of entry, I would have thought? -
In what way do you think you would be assisting HIM, as opposed to assisting the club, the team and your fellow fans, by enabling us to have a better team? I totally get why you want rid of SG but to me a boycott just seems to be a nose/face thing.
-
Fair enough, but the club don’t know that you feel that way unless you tell them explicitly why you aren’t attending or arrange a protest of some sort, otherwise you are just assumed to be one of the fans who have drifted away for footballing reasons.
-
Are suggesting that fair weather fans don’t want to admit to being so, and instead find another justification for staying away? It is inevitably a factor for a section of the support but I certainly wouldn’t suggest it applies to people on this forum who I know to be long term, diehard fans.

I just don’t follow the logic of people who choose to deprive the club of cash because they ‘don’t want to pay SG’s wages’. If you buy a season ticket or match ticket, he will get paid. If you do not buy a season ticket or match ticket, he will still get paid. Therefore you are not paying his wages. He will get paid his contractual entitlement whatever happens. Even if he leaves tomorrow, he will still be getting paid until his notice period expires. The only circumstances he does not get paid is if the club goes bust. If you put money into the club by buying tickets, it will boost the player budget, that is the variable, discretionary cost the club has to play with. More money = more players, better players. Similarly if revenue falls short of projections, they will just have to offload more of the remaining players for whatever pittance of a transfer fee they can get, or none at all just to get the wage bill down further. But SG will still be getting paid in full. Your stance is futile and just weakens the team.

FT 3-0. Not sure any of us expected a comfortable win like that, but well done ICT, after last season’s misery it’s good to get a home win and a few goals too.

Wow, 2-0 up, Brooks and Bray!

Best of luck to Ridgers, who was a great keeper for us. Was our decision not to offer him anything a financial one or does the manager not rate him sufficiently? I would think it was primarily financial given that, if I remember correctly, we didn’t offer extensions to ANY of our first team and only some of the teenagers got re-resigned.

Obviously it less of a drain on the club’s resources than the men’s team, but it’s still part of ICTFC and I’m sure SG will be delighted to know you are there, endorsing his leadership through your attendance and support. And then there was this.

Isn’t the women’s team under the club’s and therefore Scot Gardiner’s control? (For the record I would encourage people to support this team and all other ICT teams)

For me a protest would make more sense than a boycott. It’s what other teams’ fans almost always do when unhappy with their club. I thought it was an accepted principle in football that fans support the team through thick and thin, and regardless of any shambles off the pitch. Personally, I am currently willing to give the club the benefit of the doubt in that the signs are that they are trying to change, with new owners in the pipeline, Kelty reversed and the CEO having resigned. All things the supporters have wanted/demanded. I have also been uncomfortable with the Trust encouraging fans to starve the club of what it is in desperate need of, money. If everybody had followed their advice, we would not have a match today and we wouldn’t have a team any more. For a Supporters Trust to adopt this stance was an extreme and drastic measure that I’m sure wasn’t taken lightly, but was taken without consultation and without any adequate justification or regard for the inevitable consequences if everyone followed their recommendation. Because of this, I can’t currently bring myself to renew membership. -
Todorov has left Airdrie ‘by mutual consent’.

But then we’d be left with pretty much nothing. -
As expected there’s now a vacancy for the England manager’s job. For several reasons I would love it if Big Dunc somehow got the job!

Saw the thread title and hoped he’d signed for us! I always hoped he’d come back to us for a season or two before retiring. Terrific player, and certainly one of the most exciting we have ever had.
