  1. Another key point, which someone briefly mentioned here yesterday but which merits more attention in case anybody missed it, is that Charlie Christie is now interim CEO. That seems a very sensible move.
  2. I would think it is more likely that he is on Gardinering Leave, ie still be getting paid until the expiry of his notice period. That’s what we’ve done with other leavers like Dodds and Robbo. We don’t have tens of thousands of pounds sitting around to give out as a lump sum. We seemingly didn’t have enough funds to pay for loan deals, or pay for Doran’s operation, or pay for new strips, and likely need financial support from Seventy7 or Savage to pay the August wages.
  3. This all just gets stranger and stranger. Do we have a power struggle on our hands? I can only speculate that the agreement Seventy7 reached to take control of the club gave them the right to control or at least approve the appointment or removal of directors and key personnel. So maybe the Board agreed to appoint Savage but then it was either pointed out that they don’t have authority to do so and had to retract it. Or perhaps Seventy7 already had access to the Companies House login details and just reversed it themselves. Don’t know, just trying to make sense of it.
  4. It’s an exciting, encouraging development and I think it is fair to say we all trust Savage more than we trust the recent regime or would have trusted Makanwa. But if I’m following this correctly, he isn’t buying the club, just restarting the search for fresh external investment. And there’s no statement that he or anyone else will be putting any immediate funds in to prevent administration, just mention of local businesses being asked for money to keep us going. But surely, if Makanwa felt it necessary to guarantee the August wages, someone else will have to do similar? We are not out of the woods yet and there are still lots of unanswered questions, but I feel more confident about the future now that an ICT-minded businessman has (finally) stepped up to the plate.
  5. If our dalliance with Makwana is indeed over, do we know who dumped who?
  6. If Seventy7 has been slipping away for whatever reason, it would explain the meeting Charles suggested was being arranged with current large shareholders- they would seem to be the last chance to save the club.
  7. It’s not a revelation that we haven’t been paying creditors, it’s a matter of public record, and it has been stated that we have accumulated around £300,000 of overdue liabilities and that we’ll be going bust very soon without a substantial cash injection. So I’m surprised people are surprised!
  8. We can’t attribute this defeat to us fielding a team laden with inexperienced teenagers. It’s increasingly clear where the problem lies.
  9. FT 1-0 defeat. We had 1 shot on target. Sigh…
  10. One thing we do have is a proven goalscorer! What we need is tactics that enable him to be in the box and get service.
  11. I wonder if we might see 1 or 2 more youngsters go out on loan to HL clubs (with recall clauses). They need experience and we need whatever revenue we can get.
  12. Confirmed signings, Wallace Duffy (2 years) and Musa Dibaga (1 year)
  13. I’ve only just noticed that last year Andrew Barrowman was appointed CEO of Raith Rovers.
  14. There was a time when I used to edit/update some stuff on Wikipedia, but I noticed when looking at this that I am now blocked from editing, for various reasons that they list. My IP address seems to have more red flags than Ketan Makwana does!
  15. You are asking if Wikipedia is entirely reliable as a definitive source of factual and accurate information?! That ownership bit was added by a user called Coatbridge Chancellor on 26 July. He lists his interests as Rangers and Scottish football.
  16. He hasn’t created scepticism, people have just chosen to be sceptical! He has done nothing wrong.
  17. Well, no changes before the deal completes. And then he needs to speak to everyone at the club and work out what’s working and what’s not. That might not take long!
  18. You are right.
  19. Things he could put on his CV. - significant cost cutting when he first came in - £3.4m income from battery farm project which was initially approved by planning but overturned by unusual manoeuvres by the council, but which may still get approved on appeal - 99% of our interest in the battery farm was apparently then sold for £250,000 - this generating more cash than a year’s worth of season tickets? - 2 sell out concerts in 2020 would have been very profitable but then Covid hit. That was unlucky. - further attempt at concerts actually made an unspecified but significant amount money for the club from stadium rental and provision of other services to the concert co Obviously he wouldn’t mention the negative aspects of these things!
  20. In the crazy world of Scottish football, Murray gets sacked while Ferguson still has a job!
  21. Are there currently any free agent keepers living in the Highlands who are good enough? What else can we do, especially for that position. Obviously we had 2 keepers at the end of last season but we were not in a position to offer extensions to anyone at that point in time due to impending administration so they moved on (and maybe DF just didn’t rate them either, or at least didn’t consider them sufficient value for money on a tight budget?)
  22. I’ve seen him play, Luncarty v Bo’ness in the Scottish Cup last season. Didn’t have a lot to do but made a couple of decent saves when called upon. I think Mantis will know more about him as he had previously played for Whitehill.
  23. FT 1-1. All the match stats in our favour except the one that matters.
  24. Devine scores the first goal in League 1 this season to put us 1-0 up!
  25. Perhaps because there is no point launching a new strip and buying stock when the fans are boycotting purchases of merchandise? Or is it because the supplier won’t ship them because they are (understandably) concerned about getting paid, and we don’t have the funds to pay upfront?
