  1. I mind Mantis telling me he was there, and gave some of the players a lift to see a band in the evening.

Should Hughes be sacked? No. Coming at it from a different angle, though: If, back in November, a time traveller had handed Kenny Cameron a bit of paper showing the results that would arise between December and March if we appointed Hughes, would he still have got the job?

    Any relation to Charlie Christine?
  4. At what point in the 2nd half should Hughes give up on this match and start thinking about Saturday? We clearly have some players who need a rest.

New record has indeed been set. What's worse is that I've just noticed that we've scored even fewer goals than County.
  6. First goal conceded means we are going to lose. We've also beaten the record for ICT's longest ever goal drought. Happy days!

Yeah, told him to pocket the change.

So there was no need to baulk at the prices....

ICT have now played for 7 hours without scoring a goal. And it's not as if we are faced with keepers making miraculous saves, we just aren't cutting through or making chances like we used to. It may well be that fatigue is taking its toll in the midst of a long run of weekend and midweek games, and at times like this the decision to release our 2 back-up strikers and not replace either of them seems to have been the wrong one. Anyway, some stats for you. Since Watkins sealed our victory in Dingwall, we have currently gone 402 minutes (plus however much injury time there was in our last 5 matches, which would get you to 7 hours) without a goal. I've looked back and found that only once have we had a longer drought - the record was set in March 2002 and stands at 426 minutes (again plus any injury time). That run started with a painful cup QF defeat to Partick and ended with a Tokely equaliser v County. It's not as if we were short of goalscorers or creativity back then, as we had Wyness, Ritchie, Christie and Robson. So, the upshot is that we need to score in the first 24 minutes v Motherwell to avoid setting an unwanted record. More importantly, we know that when we score first, we always win!
  10. Proof, if any were needed, that Keevins is an ignorant tw@t.
  11. My positive thought for the day: if you are going to lose a cup tie on penalties, it's better to do it in the final rather than one of the earlier rounds.

Doran! He grabbed the ball straight away and wasn't letting anyone else near it.

Absolutely shocking stuff. How can professional footballers fail, in numerous attempts, to get the ball anywhere near the vicinity of the goal?
  14. Tansey's penalty was probably a yard closer to the goal than Roberts', but it is the fact that 2 players missed rather than 1 which means they won't be getting too much stick individually. Poor penalties all the same, and they know it. When Mckay missed I wasn't too concerned, but when Tansey's flew over the bar, I think we all knew it was game over.
  15. Just to elaborate on that, in Aberdeen's great run of form over the last 13 matches, the only team they failed to score against is ICT (twice). We are certainly doing something right, and our tactics were spot on.
  16. Yeah, fantastic display from the Dons fans, really impressive. But was it commemorating 1903 or 1983? Our flag was great, and will hold its own as one of the best in the country.
  17. This was a cup final that neither side deserved to win. What a poor game of football!

A mate of mine (not an ICT fan) took his lady friend away for a romantic/dirty weekend in Edinburgh and found himself having breakfast next to the team this morning!

As fans we live for days like this. Not being presumptuous, but I've just put a bottle of champagne in the fridge for when I get back.
  20. I note that the song only names 9 players. Is it because, this being an important cup tie, we get our customary 2 red cards?

I seem to remember that when County reached their final, ICT put up a big "Good luck" banner for them. Have they by any chance reciprocated?
  22. 0-0 FT Good to have rediscovered how to defend, at least, and not a bad result with so many fringe players involved. Need to rediscover how to score goals though.
  23. If we don't get a goal tonight, it'll be the first time in over 2 years that we've gone 3 games without scoring. Two of the games were against Celtic last time it happened. The time before that was way back in 2006, when we went 4 games without scoring.
  24. So you reckon we can score 5?
  25. Best football song I've heard for a long time, which maybe isn't saying much given that they have been pretty dire since the glory days of Scotland's 1978 and 1982 efforts, but this one is actually pretty darn good.
