  1. Uncomfortably numb.
  2. Absolute nightmare start 0-2, after we looked so good in the first 5 minutes.
  3. Oh dear, Ridgers.
  4. Noticed that the parent clubs of Boyes, Lawal and Pepple have been relegated, and with County still in danger for Samuel.
  5. Yes it’s a pivotal moment in our history, although it could still be a case of win AND bust! But the win gives us dramatically better prospects.
  6. George Oakley has turned down a new contract with Morton and is reported to have better offers including from Partick.
  7. Even if we stay up, those things are possibilities, but through cost cutting I think we’ d be able to survive and stay full-time in some form, but perhaps with a lower headcount on and off the pitch, and without a youth set up. The relegation scenario is considerably worse and I can’t bring myself to think about it.
  8. Pepple is our top scorer over the last 2 months despite only ever coming on for the latter stages of matches. Samuel works hard but has 1 goal in his last 15 starts. We need goals and we need changes to Ferguson’s preferred line-up.
  9. We were much better in the second half. Basically we started the match with the wrong line up, and the wrong manager. Lawal has been our best player in recent weeks yet we start Gilmour who’s been out for months. Samuel has done nothing for months except try hard and run a lot, whereas Pepple has a physical presence and is a handful for defences. Both need to start on Saturday.
  10. Were our fans chanting “you don’t know what you’re doing” at Ferguson because he was bringing Pepple on for Samuel? It was a change that was needed, Samuel offered nothing tonight, and has paid dividends instantly.
  11. Would you settle for 2-0 tonight? Gives us a chance at least in the 2nd leg, if we can get our act together.
  12. He’s pretty much been a midfielder recently but presumably he is doing what he is instructed to do by the manager.
  13. What an awful half for us. Two disastrous and rather freakish goals. In general though I don’t think we have been as bad as the score suggests, it’s been an even game overall and we are playing more attacking football than we have done in recent games (which is isn’t saying much, admittedly).
  14. There are more goals in this game, I just hope some are for us.
  15. I’m starting to see the benefits of the mind-numbingly unambitious and negative tactics we saw at Montrose.
  16. People will obviously question the keeper, but it started because we gave the ball away very cheaply in midfield. Big stroke of luck for Hamilton that the shot somehow went in. About time we got some good fortune like that.
  17. Hopefully we have learnt that he can score when he is in the opposition box, and not when he is in the centre circle?
  18. This is the face of someone who cares. Hopefully the whole team to feels the same way.
  19. After getting a taste this week of what Championship football is like, maybe Montrose thought nah your alright, enough of this tedium, we’ll just stay where we are thanks!
  20. Job done, but it was all very laboured against a part time side who are mid table in League 1. Still our chances of surviving in the Championship have basically doubled today, from 1 in 4 to 1 in 2, and that’s what we needed to do today.
  21. It’s hard to imagine us winning comfortably under this manager. If we go 1 up I think we are more likely to try and defend the lead than to kill off the tie.
  22. This’ll either be the last or second last time our home fans see these players, with few exceptions.
  23. They have a lot to gain but nothing to lose.
  24. As someone said on another thread, it’s scary when it hits you that if we don’t win tomorrow we are relegated. We really ought to have enough quality in our squad to get the better of Montrose, but they have nothing to lose whereas we are the ones who risk playing with fear and trepidation, which would not end well for us.
  25. Worth noting that we made a loss both times, including a record £1m loss in our 2009/10 promotion season. Fortunately the reckless spending paid off that time.
