There's nothing wrong with using an EBT in itself, thousands of companies do that legitimately. Likewise there's nothing wrong with making payments into overseas bank accounts, or with making loans to employees. I think what HMRC have an issue with is clubs who claimed to be making (non-taxable) loans to players through EBTs with complicated terms that in reality meant the loans were never intended to be repaid. Which means they were not really loans, they were taxable salary payments.

Wouldn't argue with any of that, although I thought Tansey was tidy enough. We have to bear in mind that in a midfield with Foran, Hayes, Ross and Sutherland, Tansey is the most (or only) naturally defensive player there, and this is probably why he has been less of a goal threat this season than we might have expected after the first few games. You are right that he was overshadowed by Foran in a similar role, but Foran was MOM.

It's baffling that the administrator has been trying to push through the signing of Daniel Cousin, to incur an additional cost of around £7,000 a week at a time when they need to be cutting costs. Shouldn't that money be used to pay some of their taxes or other creditors?

Glad to hear you got out fine. But you ended up with more entertainment, and certainly a more memorable day out, than those of us who made it to the game.

Dunfermline must hate playing us: They have won just once in the last 21 fixtures beween the two sides. 5 games this season and no wins for them, despite them taking the lead in 4 of those games. However you could also point out that we've played the worst team in the league, with the worst keeper in SPL history, 5 times with our only win coming in extra time.

We were much better with a front 2 of Foran and Mackay. Gnapka as a lone striiker just didn't work.

Looks like the former ICT whinger has agreed to join Vancouver Whitecaps when his Boro contract expires at the end of the season. The connection would appear to be that their assistant manager is Paul Ritchie, not the ex-ICT one, but the ex-Scotland defender who played alongside him at Dundee Utd. Robson is 33 now and has undoubtedly had the most succesful post-ICT career of any of our former players. There certainly aren't many others who have scored against Barcelona in the Champions League.
