  1. Roy is a very well respected player and it's a shame he's out of the picture. Presumably the manager must have his reasons for this, but the only way for the rest of us to really judge whether Roy deserves a place is to see him play. It'll happen at some point, surely. If Butcher just didn't like Roy at all like the OP suggests, then he would have let him go on loan, so there is hope for him.
  2. How many tickets will we need? I recall that we took around 2,000 to both previous finals. Having won it already perhaps the novelty has worn off and we won't take as many this time. I would imagine that we will get 1 stand and Dundee will get 3.
  3. No. He was just playing the ball back across goal -but if it hadn't dropped in, it would have been a tap in for Sanchez.
  4. Not for me, too far to travel. :)
  5. Aye, France. More specifically, Dingwall's twin town.
  6. I'm not aware of any Dundee fans ever getting into bother for chanting "Dirty Arab b******s" at their rivals. Yet that chant is at least as racist as it would be if you substituted Arab with Gypsy, in that it makes the derogatory inference that Arabs are both dirty and bastards, making it racist in the eyes of those who choose to see it that way. Everyone knows the Utd fans are not true Arabs, but the chant could still offend those who are, and that is the same in our case. This whole gypsy thing is just nonsense.
  7. Cool, didn't realise that.
  8. Good times!
  9. I remember when Viz comic (back in its heyday when it was selling over a million a month) got into trouble for running a stereotyped but very funny strip called "The Thieving Gypsy Bastards". They were forced to pull it. But in one of life's delicious irnoies, the member of the gypsy community who led the action against Viz was convicted of handling stolen goods shortly afterwards.
  10. Surely it's the law that's the problem, not the club. I can understand protection being afforded to the race of ethnic Roma people, but not to people who have just made a lifestyle choice.

Wiki also says he made just 11 appearances for us and scored 1 goal. I'd be interested to know who he really is playing for if anyone can find out. Asil had something about him on their official site so I'd be tempted to go with that.

I thought it was just the once, but may well be wrong.

One of the more unusual ones was that Davide Xausa was linked with a move to a South Korean club, called Samsung Bluewings or such like. Their scout was going to be attending a game but it got called off and we never heard anything more about it.
  14. Change in policy. Confirmed as Perth, common sense prevails for once.
  15. Is this the first time it will have been held at an SPL ground? Sensible decision though.
  16. Aye, because the Hawick player's just moved out to his new villa in Barbados.

There was a video published called "A Night to Remember" but I don't think it was ever available on DVD. Not from the club anyway!
  18. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_...and/8280038.stm I'm curious to know who accepted large bets on a 0-7 score and on Hawick conceding a penalty, because they were naive to say the least. I was going to put a few bets on Round 1 of the Cup, but the online gambling accounts I use weren't covering any of the games. Presumably because there is little demand, and because the odds-setters have much less idea of what the outcome will be than your average fan of either side, even before you consider the scope for fixing.

About 13 miles, based on this season so far?

Similar to what CMIB said, our Board don't always get things right, but I believe that they have always acted in what they believed to be the best interests of the club. But I know there are quite a few who will say I'm talking nonsense there.

What nonsense. The Board are spending way, way above the sort of level that is sustainable for Div 1, because they want us back in the SPL and know that if it doesn't happen this season it'll take another 5-10 years like it has done for so many before us. And going back to January, they spent loads on firing the old management team, bringing in a very expensive pairing, as well as loads of new signings on hefty wages. Because they wanted to go down?
  22. TCS, Victoria Park, Pittodrie, McDermaid Park and is there not another one as well? Telford St!!! The ones I had in mid were TCS, TSt, Viccy Pk and Pittodrie. Forgot about Tannadice. When was McDiarmid used?
  23. Although we've played home games at 4 grounds in 15 years. Including 3 in one season!
  24. Buchanan wanted to stay in the central belt, at least that's what he said in the press at the time. Mind you, that could be because he knew he was about to have his car confiscated because it was paid for by drug money (he wasn't involved in anything dodgy himself though, he was given the car). EDIT - found this article to remind myself what actually happened. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish...86908-20298056/
