Kilmarnock -V- ICT : matchday thread
He'd be mad to play him at the moment, and never said he would either. I think what he meant was that he wanted Denzil to rise to the challenge and prove his worth to ICT, not give up and switch his thoughts to contracts elsewhere so quickly. Not that I blame Denzil at all for doing that. But he knows that he unpicked himself from the squad. Hart is slightly different in that his mind is probably more focussed on football than contracts at the moment.

Kilmarnock -V- ICT : matchday thread
Well, when Denzil is publicly stating that his ICT career is effectively over and he is trying to get a move sorted out over the next few days, you don't seriously expect him to be picked, do you?

Who should replace Brewster?
Why do people think Barry Wilson would be a good manager? Because he is an ICT legend who is approaching retirement?

Who should replace Brewster?
The question of a new manager brings us back to the question as to why Robbo is on Orion's payroll.

If Brewster goes he can take McGuire with him.

Brewster's record at DU
If you judge an ICT manager by their record elsewhere, then is Steve Paterson a terrible manager?

David Sutherland Interview
No, it just means we are well and truly an SPL club!

Dennis Wyness
Here's a different perspective on the Wyness contract withdrawal. Imagine you are engaged. Shortly before the wedding you decide, for whatever reason, that you don't want to commit to spending years with that person. Your fiancee has done nothing wrong, and everyone will think that you are a heartless git who has ruined her life. The concensus here is that you should be obliged to proceed with a marriage that you don't want and no longer think will work, because you had previously indicated your intention to marry and shouldn't change your mind.

Clach player who went to Rangers
Didn't realise it was Robbie Williamson! Did Rangers ask for their money back?

Clach player who went to Rangers
I have a vague recollection that some time around 1989 Clach sold a player to Rangers, but a week or so later he came back up the road homesick. Is that actually what happened? If so what became of him?

Dennis Wyness
It's a shabby way to treat someone whoever it is, but it is very hard to imagine that there would be much of an outcry from the fans if it was a less popular player like McBain or McAllister who had a contract offer withdrawn.

We Need A New Manager For Next Season
It's hard to disagree with what he says in that article.

Reserves v Aberdire today
No Zibi in that reserve squad?

Dennis Wyness
Several people involved, is what I'm trying to say. Just didn't want someone rushing to point the finger at the manager when none of us really know how much involvement he had in the decision.

Dennis Wyness
I think that's generally how it works.........apart from the Niculae signing!
-
Gretna v Celtic
I think you are right, but the SPL rule book is written in pencil!
-
Dennis Wyness
Brewster involved, DoF in charge, and MD having the final say.......meaning several people would have been involved in the decision that Denzil's alleged act of indiscipline was sufficiently bad for his contract offer to be suspended?
-
Dennis Wyness
Brewster is not in charge of player contracts.

Dennis Wyness
Legend indeed. But I don't have a problem with Wyness not getting a new contract. He's been playing in the SPL for 5 seasons. In that time he's looked the part for a grand total of about 5 months, spread across two spells of great form. Is that good enough? As for the contract, I'm appalled at what is reported to have happened, but you can only really judge when you've heard the full story, from both sides. But at the end of the day is it not the case that if Denzil had signed his contract by the specified deadline, the club would not have been able to withdraw the offer? Lesson for others.

Another week Still no Contracts
It's very, very concerning, but let's put a bit of perspective on it. I've been loyal to my current employer for 7 years. But if I told management "a few home truths" I would fully expect to face the unpleasant consequences, even if I was right. Why should it be any different for footballers.......most of whom would bugger off for more money if the opportunity arose? As Dennis did once.

Another week Still no Contracts
Put aside sentiment and Denzil is no great loss. But it looks like things at the club will get worse before they get better. It's hard to imagine us winning a game before next season.

Gretna v Celtic
Been a while since Livingston saw SPL football :003:

Another week Still no Contracts
Whatever we have offered is the best and only offer his agent has been able to get for him.

Car Sticker
So what should the new ICT car sticker say? Honk if you want a new manager! Don't follow me, I'm going to watch Caley! If you can read this..........then surely you can also see how bad we are at the moment! Please overtake..........I'm as slow as Niculae! And Duncan could get one saying "How's my passing?"
