  1. Would be useful to know what our turnover was back in Division 1 days, because that's pretty much what its going to drop to.
  2. There is a cancellation notice period which you presumably didn't give, so strictly speaking they are fully entitled to claim from you. No doubt an awful lot of people will be doing the same as you though. For a small outstanding balance like yours, they normally don't go any further than the threatening letters. There is a chance that if they end up in receivership, the receiver could pursue debts more vigorously, because that is his job, and nobody cares at that stage if it is bad PR for Setanta. If it were me I'd sit tight for a while and see what happens.
  3. And yet they nearly always finish in the bottom half. The best in the last 10 years was St J finishing 3rd.
  4. At those odds I would put money on Dundee, and steer well clear of us.
  5. That sounds about right to me. We were a team on the up back then too. Hard to see much over 2,000.
  6. Here's what you get when you try to subscribe. Very succinct summary of their business. https://secure.setantasubscriptions.com/Err...h=/Landing.aspx
  7. From BBC: Sounds to me like the company that provides the customer registration service on behalf of Setanta has got fed up not being paid and has pulled the plug.
  8. If Scottish football's finances fall off a cliff with the demise of Setanta, then we'll be able to get better players for less money. And some of the teams who have been actively signing players will realise that they are paying more than they should have. Going on holiday and doing nothing may turn out to be the right thing to have done.
  9. Is half a Kaka referred to as a Ka? Ford dealerships could be sitting on a goldmine.
  10. Administration seems to be drawing closer, which will cause sleepless nights for SPL chairmen throughout the summer and possibly beyond. In addition to us being due our parachute payment, it's worth pointing out that the SPL gives ?1.5m to the SFL every year, which the SFL distributes amongst all its member clubs. If that money does not materialise then its going to cause problems for clubs that depend on it to make up their deficits.
  11. This thread has more zeroes than heroes.
  12. These deals are often basic fee + extra depending on appearances + possible sell-on clause, so different figures appear everywhere.
  13. Who do you reckon should win the final tonight? I have to congratulate Sir Alan on one thing. Business is all about survival of the fittest, and he certainly put the 2 fittest candidates through to the final.
  14. Forget it. We probably will finish 2nd, but it's hard to see how we will be one of the best 8 group runners up. At present all the other 2nd place teams have achieved about 2 points per game, we have just 1.4.

    Barrowman

You first have to prove that you have the skills to sit on a bench without falling off. And from time to time you'd have to get up, and jog up and down in front of the north stand for a few minutes every fortnight, stopping occassionally to do some unstructured light stretching. Still reckon you could do it?!
  16. It's a bit of a myth that you get handed your P45 to signify your dismissal. You actually get it sent to you days or weeks after the event. It can't be produced until after you've had your final pay.
  17. How many of the 646 MPs actually make onerous decisions? The few that do are in the Cabinet and are paid accordingly.
  18. An understandable but rather simplistic view. Would you also find it incomprehensible that any Brit could be friendly towards Germans? Any organisation is characterised by its leaders at the time, and new regimes can bring change. The Labour party being transformed by Blair is a prime example.
  19. All of a sudden cricket got interesting.
  20. Way back in April he announced a flat day-rate expense allowance to replace the current scheme. But it was ill thought out and he couldn't even muster the support of his own cabinet or MPs, so it's wishful thinking that he has the ability or authority to reform anything. Dead man walking.
  21. Holland won
  22. One thing to bear in mind is that nobody voted for Brown to be PM. At the general election they voted for Blair, who had given assurances that he would serve a full term. Brown didn't even win a leadership election in the Labour party. He was then going to hold a general election to secure his own democratic mandate, but bottled it when it became apparent that the public preferred Cameron. So we've been governed by someone who was a solid Chancellor but has never had democratic authority to be PM, which is perhaps part of the problem. Time for an election please, let the people decide.
  23. Another South American trait is shooting players whose mistakes cost big games. Rossco needn't worry though, the bullets would bounce off.
  24. The missus does, I just happened to be in the room  But there's nothing wrong with improving ones understanding of yoof culcha.
  25. Karly looked very familiar to me, I think she's an ex of mine. An ex work colleague, that is.
