  1. For the record, the formations posted by Caleymad are wrong, the one on the official site is (unsurprisingly) correct. Bit of a walk in the park in the second half, but it had taken a while to break them down. Bulvitis looked the part, won plenty of challenges. I'd sign him. Whilst Sanchez has a decent touch, he rarely threatened a poor Brechin side full of trialists. The concensus was that he is just too casual in his approach to do well for us, and shouldn't be signed. (The best Spaniard of the day was the barman from Zaragoza in the Caledonian Hotel. We initially went to the pub we used to go to in the old days, but it's now a funeral directors!) I wouldn't get too excited about Ross. He did fine and took his chances well when the ball broke loose to him in the box a couple of times, but (takes deep breath) I'm afraid he doesn't have what it takes to be a pro. You heard it here first. Oh, and Rory was pish. At least he was playing, having missed Brechin's friendly last week to go to T in the Park instead! Brechin also had Kevin Byers in right midfield, still with a decent bit of skill but no pace or strength, and journeyman Ian Harty huffed and puffed and caused a few problems, but Rory was never there to help out. Only ?6 to get in and the crowd was apprx 180. I counted them, twice.
  2. I am seriously looking forward to this!
  3. Well, it must be hard for him to go 45 minutes without eating so you've got to sympathise. He'd get booked if he left the field of play to go to the pie stall.
  4. core
  5. I might be wrong but i think we beat a load of SPL sides that summer. We definitely beat Aberdeen, cos I remember it was my wedding day and I was trying to get someone to find the score.
  6. I'll be paying a bit more attention to this Open than usual, having been lucky enough to play the course a year or so ago. In particular I'll be smiling every time one of them fails to match the par I got at the 9th (the Lighthouse hole, where they tee off on a rock somewhere out at sea)
  7. curt!
  8. Not quite. They "settle" the debts in this kind of situation by paying the creditors about 2p for every ?1 they are owed. The club then starts afresh without any debt. Until the next time.....
  9. I quite like it, much better than our home top. There's something European about it, the kind of kit you'd see in a management simulator in a European qualifier against a team from Luxembourg.
  10. Hone
  11. Whilst results don't matter in this kind of game, you'd still expect us to score more than 2, especially when it's 0-2 after 16 minutes.
  12. I'm sure Scotty can answer that one better than I can, but it's certainly not his mates. One thing the mods he has picked seem to have in common, desides being big ICT fans, is that they have all been long term contributors to this site (5 to 10+ years) and have a shared understanding of what kind of site he wants it to be. Speaking personally I have no connections at all with Scotty other than through this site. I've been a regular here for over 10 years, got asked to be a mod a couple of years ago. I don't really know why, but I considered it to be an honour and was happy to help out at a time when more mods were clearly needed. I think others will have similar stories. And going back a long way, I'm pretty sure CaleyD got himself banned!
  13. It is a bit surprising, but isn't it officially the England and Wales Cricket Board? In Scotland they should play in a rough scheme in Glasgow. I'd like to see how long it would take them to get their ball back when the first 4 or 6 is hit.
  14. The Sex Pistols I get what they stood for etc, but musically? Nah. I'll also add Nirvana. Liked them a bit when they were around, had their albums, but they were nothing special. Just confirms how dying can be a great career move.
  15. If I can draw a parallel, should football clubs have a say in who referees their games? Clubs would opt for a ref who they think would be favourable to them and their playing style, but it wouldn't be in the best interests of the game.
  16. You sure it wasn't a funeral?!
  17. And I suppose people can always exercise their democratic right not to visit the website if they don't like it.
  18. Simply Red
  19. Both clubs combined, approx 8 + 3?
  20. Any difference must be in the way they are heated then.
  21. You'll complain when it gets into trouble mid-air and you need to insert a credit card to activate your oxygen mask!
  22. Don't think so. What you are looking for is someone who is full of original ideas but still hasn't got to grips with the basics of football tactics.
  23. Very tenuous but Andy Dibble has family in Inverness (or used to, at the very least). Can't actually remember him being at Rangers though. was he Goram's understudy for a while?
  24. Great name anyway. "For goodness sakes...........we've got the Ricky Ricky Shakes" Got to sign him now.
