  1. That kind of praise has greater impact when the striker in question is a world class legend!
  2. They will also know the value to us of keeping our best player to help us avoid relegation.
  3. I doubt it, given that both earned massive pay rises with their moves to bigger clubs. Perhaps Brewster can actually be credited with making Black a much better and more disciplined player this season.
  4. I actually wonder if he's been given a final chance, with a specified number of points required from the next game(s) for him to keep his job.
  5. You are absolutely right, at times it's reminiscent of the Life of Brian.
  6. It's our new tactic to reduce the number of goals we concede.
  7. No matter how bad things get at ICT, at least we can take comfort in the fact that we are not Elgin.
  8. One interesting point about this press release - Brewster was actually told his transfer budget last week (he said so in a newspaper interview I read). So it isn't new news as such.
  9. Well done to the Board for this press release. I don't see how people can complain about them publicly acknowledging the problems and the discontent of fans. Or about making funds available for transfers. Both of these things are GOOD NEWS. The most interesting thing about the release though is what it doesn't say. You know, the bit about "we have every confidence that Craig Brewster has the abilities to lead the team back up the table....."
  10. It was decided that if we beat Clach today he keeps his job and gets a 3 year extension. :o
  11. Most people have mobile phones these days. Instructions can be left and authority delegated to another director. Transfer budget is already agreed for January and the Chairman doesn't have much more involvement than that when it comes to signings. Don't see any problem at all with someone having a holiday provided other directors are suitably briefed.
  12. I've given Brewster every chance, until the last couple of weeks. Enough is enough now. The team in recent weeks has been as shambolic, disorganised and unmotivated as Scotland under Berti. Much of the criticism of him is unjustified, but I think everybody, including the Board, can now be in little doubt that he doesn't have what it takes tactically.

    Orion

Although Orion don't actually have any power (at the moment, at least). No place on the board and a paltry 15% shareholding.
  14. Did I just hear the commentator say that if he was manager he would hook Proctor already?
  15. And fans stating that if there was no response within the required 7 days they would seek to make life difficult for the club just increased the likelihood of a quick, standard response to everyone.
  16. Not necessarily. By being released, the player benefits from getting a salary elsewhere, and hopes he can get back to playing first team football and improving his long term career prospects. So usually what happens is that a compromise is reached and the player gets less than the remainder of his contract.
  17. I sneeze whenever I have anything minty. No idea if it's a medical phenomenomenomenom or if I'm just special. Some people react badly to nuts, I just sneeze when exposed to Tic-tacs, Matchmakers, Creme de menthe etc.
  18. If you subscribe to the theory of no smoke without fire, then it may well be that the club have decided they would like to release him but things haven't been sorted out with the player yet.
  19. Can that sort of discussion be keep for other threads please. This one's for dodgy poetry
  20. Apparently Quuens Park became known as the Spiders after the famous Glasgow Cup final of 1928 which they eventually won after 7 replays - ie 8 legs.
  21. I've listed below some interesting club nicknames from the lower leagues, and I'd be interested to know how they came about. (Alternatively, feel free to post your own plausible but completely fabricated theories.) Gable Endies Red Lichties Doonhamers Spiders Blue Brazil
  22. Good decision to release Zadi...........but it clears the way for Ritchie Byrne :o
  23. Does this mean Brewster is better than one of the top managers in the land, who just a year ago was favourite for the Scotland job?
  24. Brilliant. Who needs a fanzine! Note the text of the comic, half way down : "Brewster Rockit is an unlikely captain. He's woefully illprepared to lead."
