Sneckboy, you're absolutely correct to bring up my prediction from the pre match thread heading towards Celtic. Taking into account the game from last August and the fact that Celtic did go on to concede 3 goals vs Motherwell I genuinely believed that if we played the attack minded way we did vs Ross County, we could have scored few last Sunday. When I made the prediction I didn't know that we were going to be without David Raven and Marley Watkins. I also didn't factor that Celtic would have played to full strength against us because the league has already been sown up. In no way in predicting us to score a few vs Celtic see it as being preposterous. When I talk about realism, I am just merely comparing the two sides and when Celtic are at full strength they can really damage a team - as we seen last Sunday. Celtic have the highest wage bill in Scotland and we probably have the lowest in the premiership. We couldn't fill the bench aswell.

You do raise an interesting point in amongst your waffling, where are all of the Hughes supporters? I'm not sure where to start on the rest of this, at what point did Hughes earn this respect you say he deserves? You bring up IHE as an example of an established poster on here showing respect, yet IHE himself openly has more personal digs at our previous managers psyche than anyone else on here, how is that showing unqestionable respect? Why assume that people are not posting on this topic because they think it is beneath them? I'd say its safe to assume most people on here are firmly on the fence on this issue and thats only after our rousing win up in Dingwall, after that Dundee United game the pitchforks were out in force. You have totally misread the vibes coming from the support as a whole. "The Board is NOT going to react in the same way that they think because the members of the Board are mature business persons and rational and reasonable people NOT usually likely to go into orbit with knee jerk reactions. And NOT young bucks feeling their oats and letting that feeling overcome their brains." I guess you could say the the board demonstrated some rational thought in bringing in a guy on the cheap, who had been shunned by the rest of Scottish football after multiple failures. Tell me SP.. in all this talk of yours of being fair, rational, respectful and downright gentlemanly when discussing the merits and potential of Hughes, at what stage do you sit down and look over the stats? There has been a swing of 17 points and 1 trophy between ourselves and Aberdeen since Hughes took over, we were clear in 2nd place with games and points to spare, where are we now?I don't think any of the people interviewed could have got it so badly wrong . Like I said before I take no pleasure in seeing thistle get tanked every week . The fact remains yogi will stick to his guns and work with the squad he has (his words) the worry is that I fear for the very survival of thistle in the top flight if he remains in charge .end of!I think Mr Cameron got it badly wrong and needs to act asap before its to late!! Even Craig Levein or the inexperienced Paul Telfer wouldn't have been as shocking as Hughes is turning into. As for no new signings, WTF!!! Next seasons starting 11 will be more or less same as this but the squad will be bare. My patience has been waring thin ever since last Celtic game. I really hope lack of season tickets sold for next season is an indication to board that all is not well!! So much for "best chairman" in league!!Gonna bite! Craig Levein I believe didnt wish considered for the job and how on earth do you know that we would be any better off with the inexperienced Mr Telfer? Unless youve got a crystal ball. If you want to support a team that wins all the time I suggest you start supporting Celtic. That was ******* uncalled for!! I don't believe what OCG said was uncalled for and maybe it's a bit of a reality shock for you. In my opinion you're having a go at Kenny Cameron for no reason when he has no say what so ever in results on the pitch. If you ever listened to CaleyD on the CaleyThistle Podcast and he gave us an insight on the work Kenny Cameron does off the pitch for ICT. Where has it been stated that there will be no new signings? I know it's been disappointing to concede 11 goals in 2 games vs Celtic but I think you need to be a bit realistic here. We were playing against the best team in Scotland on their own turf and they are capable of doing it to many other teams. For what it is worth I was at Celtic Park last Sunday and I didn't think Celtic were good enough for six goal and I was very disappointed leaving CP watching ICT get humped, individual errors cost us and the fact we were missing David Raven, Richie Foran and Marley Watkins - we had 4 subs FFS, cuts us a bit of slack. Yogi should/will be given the summer and then I think he should be judged. It is far too soon IMHO. To be fair i thought we were lucky to get away with 6 and without Brill it could have been more. Hughes said in a pre match interview there would be no signings Totally agree despite the 6 goals, Dean Brill had some decent saves in there. I didn't realise he did say that but then again why would he state we would bring in new signings in false hope that a few of his targets might go elsewhere. I am very much convinced we will be active buying and selling in the transfer window.

Any idea number of games each was in charge for? Butcher - 11 league games Malpas - 1 league game Shearer - 2 league games Hughes - 21 league games Cup Games Butcher - 2 games, 2 wins Shearer - 1 game, 1 win Hughes - 5 games, 2 wins and a draw
-
After seeing CaleyDawson mention Yogi got us into the top 6 and I have also seen it mentioned other places I got intrigued to have a look at the stats and do a quick summary and this is what I have got: Butcher - 22 Malpas - 3 Shearer - 4* Hughes - 24 * - Including St Mirren Away on 7th December as Hughes was in the stands.
-
I would be very happy if that's the style we go for. Interesting thing will be who the sponsor will be.

I am disappointed that Evans is leaving the club.

CaleyCalum HT: 1-0 FT: 3-0 1st ICT: Doran 1st Celtic: Stokes First Goal: 16 mins

I firmly believe if we play attacking minded football we could score a fair few. Celtic's defence can be quite hot and cold and even at times so can Fraser Forester. I think it will be very important for us to score the first goal tomorrow. So my team would be: Brill Raven Warren Meekings Tremarco Draper Shinnie Doran Tansey Watkins Mckay

Well pepper plays RB in U20's so not really cause dave is much better Being playing on the wings recently.

I think so. We usually sort it out after the league finishes.

Not sure on all the names but I know Stephen Rennie, Jamie Wilson, Hobban (Keeper) and about 5 others.

Just in from the game tonight and I came away very entertained with what I saw on the pitch from our youth side. We made two changes tonight from the game last Tuesday vs Dundee United. Nick Draper came in for Cammy MacKay and Calum Howarth coming in for Danny Devine who wasn't in the squad tonight. The key element again for me tonight and I have to praise the guys on is the passing and movement. The aim of our style tonight was keeping as much possession as would could and work the way into the box and it worked a treat. Another game again where Adam Evans scores again, I would really like him to be kept on for a couple of seasons and eventually break into the first team after all we do know what happens when you're on form in the U20s - Just look at a Ryan Christie for an example. Credit to Dunfermline, they tried and tried but they couldn't really find the net and I think a lot of credit has to go to our back four. If we didn't give away a silly penalty in the second half, I am almost certain we would have kept a clean sheet tonight. We scored 3 really good goals tonight which was pleasing but I have to take my hat off to Matthew Cooper who had the ball at the edge of the right hand corner and curved the ball into the top left hand side of the goal - Stunning Goal. Really pleasing to get the three points tonight to end the season on a high and overall comparing this season squad to last seasons I think this season has really impressed me - The future is bright!

No because I am lead to believe 7 or 8 players from U17s have signed up U20 contracts. We can also have 3 players (I think) over the age of 20 playing for the U20s aswell. Conor Pepper is going to be 20 when the new season starts so I would see a benefit of him going out on loan (Hearts wouldn't be a bad shout for him) Jason Brown another who I think should go out on loan aswell. We will have Calum Ferguson coming back next year from Montrose. You could also add in the factor that Yogi may buy players that are under the age of 20 too.

If you watch U20 games you would be saying the complete opposite. When Conor started with us he was pretty much a winger/striker, scored a late equaliser vs Hearts and scored a peach vs Hibernian. Admittedly he hasn't really been given much of a chance since. I have taken a fair bit of time watching u20s home games and this season Conor has been playing at right back. The word for me that sums him up is 'versatility'. His performances at right back have been really good and he has the pace to go forward but also the pace to come back to defend. Right back was a position I was worried about due to the lack of cover but the reality is now we have Conor Pepper and Graeme Shinnie that can fill in at right back, so that in itself should hopefully warrant Conor Pepper a new Sorry, but he has taken too long to break through to FIRST team level so management must have doubts about him. If we are talking U20 football, he is probably far too expensive and the CLUB will get better value with younger prospects. When you have the likes of Marley Watkins and Aaron Doran performing really well, would you really fancy your chances getting a look in? As I have already stated he has not been given a decent enough chance in the first team and when he did under Terry Butcher he scored vs Hearts and Hibs. I don't think Conor will be expensive for the club. I personally would sign him up for a couple seasons and send him out on loan because I feel that he is good enough to play for ICT but we have too much competition for places. As I have said in another thread if anything he would be a decent back up for David Raven. Both those players have been out at some point yet Conor still didn't get the nod. Bearing in mind he did get injured in an U20 match vs Rangers back in March and if I recall Doran was injured at the same time and Yogi changed the shape of the team and even Watkins was on the bench. Same could be said for Nick Ross, he hasn't been getting the nod.

Bump. Just a reminder that we have a U20 game at 6pm tonight at TCS vs Dundee United. Could you maybe post a list of which U20s you think should or shouldnt be kept? After the game at is Certainly Rival. Cammy MacKay - A younger keeper that has done really well in the U20s and makes top saves. I remember his first game for the U20s, it was a home game vs St Johnstone and he saved two penalties. He's done well when plays and done very well despite conceding two goals tonight. He went on loan to Clachnacuddin for a month (Not sure how that went) but he's done good. - Keep Nick Draper - He really impressed me vs Hearts 2 weeks ago and made some excellent saves but last month vs Rangers he made a few howlers. Hard to say really but I have already stated I would rather Cammy MacKay but would be interested to see what Draper has to offer. I think money will be the deciding factor - Release Matthew Cooper - Always impresses me when plays and his defending is really good. He is definitely good enough to be a back up but he has been hampered with too many injuries. - Keep Jason Brown - Again another player that impresses me time and time again and I always remember him scoring a bullet header against Clachnacuddin in a friendly. I personally would keep him but send him out on loan for half a season. - Keep Joe Gorman - A very interesting character despite all his social media shanigans he is a good defender and some of his deliveries in the box have been good - Keep (As long as he stays out of trouble) Calum Howarth - A player I would definitely keep but as already stated he is leaving - Release Conor Pepper - Defintelty worth a new deal especially a back up for David Raven at right back if nothing else. He has the talent but hasn't been given the time. He is a player that would sign up for another year but loan him out for half a season and try and prove himself. - Keep Ali Sutherland - Plays a very similar game to Aaron Doran and links up very well with Evans. Scored goals vs Celtic and Rangers youth teams. It would be a massive mistake to let go. - Keep Adam Evans - Holds the ball up very well and I personally feel him and Billy Mckay would work very well together. - Keep Jay Cheyne - I can't remember the last time he played. - Release

As the above says a 3-2 home victory for ICT. Overall impression is that I thought the work rate of the lads in the second half especially was something to be proud of in the manner we managed to turn 1-2 at half time into a 3-2 win. First half started very frantic with Dundee United passing the ball smoothly along the ground. I can see why the likes of Gauld, Robertson, Armstrong have done well for Dundee United. We conceded a free kick on Dundee United's right hand side just outside the box. Dundee United had a clean strike from the free kick on target with the Dundee United young defender slotting in the rebound. After the goal, the game then settled down with Dundee United dominating majority of the possession with slick one two passing. Dundee United's striker Tumilty got the the ball from outside the box and with a few skilful moves and struck the ball into the net it was then 2-0 to the visitors. I think after that goal we changed the shape of the team with Nick Ross playing behind Evans and Williams pushing a bit forward. Our first goal of the game then came through a mistake from the wide left from a United defender with the ball being played through to Adam Evans who found the net starting off our comeback. Conor Pepper got injured just before half time. I think it was a head knock that which he came back on the pitch but I think it got too much for him and eventually got replaced by young Jamie Wilson. He showed some nice touches and was played on the wing in the first half. Second half was really good from ICT. The passing was something I would highly praise and we found some good spaces in the attacking areas. Our equaliser then came from Jamie Wilson who I think is only 16 years old got the ball on the edge of the area and nicely struck it in the back of the net. I was really impressed with Jamie Wilson last home game vs Hearts which scored at and now again tonight. If he keeps up that sort of form at U20s he could have a bright future. The 3rd goal from was a volley inside the box. Interestingly in the post above I see it mentioned that Evans got the goal but from where I was positioned it looked like it was an own goal but if it was Evans or an own goal their keeper wasn't going to save it. In terms of first teamer performances I thought that Nick Ross had a good game linking up well with Adam Evans being a good playmaker of our attacks. Danny Devine had a solid game despite the two goals conceded. Liam Polworth had a good game holding the midfield but he was a bit too mouthy with the ref at times. Danny Williams for me was the best of the first teamers. His energy is something I say after every U20 game. He got the ball from deep and just burst through on a solo run into the wing but unfortunately lost the ball - it was really impressive to watch. All the players for me get pass marks and what a thoroughly deserved victory for the U20s! Next game vs Dunfermline on Thursday 6pm

Would be happy to help!

I was originally not keen for hoops but after seeing this one my mind has changed. That one looks really good!
-
I hope it is back to stripes for next season. A black V neck with basic blue and red stripes (Similar to the current Barca kit)
-
I'd be happier to see MacKay stay in all honesty but I would be interested to see what Draper could offer.

I will be really gutted if Jason Brown, Cammy MacKay and Ali Sutherland leave. Still gutted about Howarth right enough.
