  1. After last season I feel that this season is like going back with a boring girlfriend after she has cheated on you with your best mate, to find she has learned a thing or two and is suddenly more exciting and adventurous. Some boyfriends realise they have to get over it quickly or the relationship is doomed, some feel that the girlfriend has to suffer just a little bit more before they can trust again. With that in mind I think the doubters should be cut some slack. I am going to give them until the December 31st to stop greeting every time she looks in the general direction of another man then if they still feel the same they can feck off and watch county. Appreciate your thoughts
  2. Does anyone else think that Terry handled last week perfectly? It seems like he knows his players and thought they had earned that type of reaction from him. He was equally grounded after today's result and I think this season he is playing a blinder. People are right to criticise after a defeat but I don't think any of our players deserve to be singled out to the extent Foran was when things go bad. Brilliant today boys and another game we have scored in.
  3. After a disastrous run of one defeat in 11 ict silence the doubters. Get tae **** in there!!!!
  4. Back to Foran's fault again, I'm sure some folk have their posts written before waiting for a day like Sunday to use them. He gets pissed off when getting beat, does anyone really think that footballers can't take criticism from their own team mates? The best teams I played in had a strong vocal presence and that's what he is. Plus a pretty good player on a great scoring streak before his injury. For those who don't think we need to strengthen let Sunday be a lesson. We have a paper thin squad and need to get in some experience. It can be done with no money, it's a great shop window as Draper etc are able to testify. We are still a bottom 4 team who have been punching above our weight and been fortunate with not too many injuries. Keep the faith but ca canny with the over criticism and over optimism when things are going well - it's a long season ahead and despite poor support the team continues to try to entertain.
  5. We need more players full stop. The bench on Saturday was very thin and not being able to offer any money we have to (almost) take what we are offered.
  6. He will be a reserve team player with potential I would guess but nowhere near the first team. With loan players It's a lottery but a cheap lottery, like eating peanuts from a bowl in a bar, you never know if you are getting someone else's xxxx or something tasty.
  7. Steve Marsella is the man behind these signings which I am sure were done for next to eff all money. Credit where it is due
  8. Not too sure where the pessimism has suddenly came from. The negativity of some of the supporters is creating a poor atmosphere at home games. The anti Butcher brigade on this site and on match days are the poison in the club at the moment. The constructive criticisms of others, and I will include IHE in this group, are justified as they really seem to have the club at heart with no hidden agenda. There are not so hidden agendas around which will always be here until we are back in the Highland League with Charlie Christie at the helm. Is Butcher the right man for the job? Well this season is a big one for him and Maurice and I suppose we judge at the end of it. He is a passionate man who cares for the club but is only a caretaker of the role until the next well paid victim. We are a disfunctional family at the moment on the terraces and I honestly can't see how this can be repaired, certainly this season anyway.
  9. Any chance you could lead the singing at Fir Park on Sunday then? There's a solution genius
  10. He asked the fans to get behind the team as they needed the twelfth man to kick in, a couple of embarrassed Come on Caley and then silence again. As well as the team having the worst performance of their season (they were all poor without exception) from minute one it was like being at a wake with a noisy party going on next door. I don't think as a team we will be so nervous again, simple passes were going astray and players weren't doing their jobs well enough. Unfortunately that happens against Celtic sometimes. However, we are always going to be handicapped by having a third division support.
  11. Some right girls on here sometimes. In all my years watching and playing football that was a mistimed tackle if I have ever seen one although in super slow mo it looks much slower. A few weeks ago folk were bigging him up as the messiah. Now he is a very naughty boy. He is a half decent player with passion who may get sent off occasionally but he does care about the club. Bring on the Sellic - Richie can enjoy a well earned rest and come back stronger for the next game.
  12. Not every mistimed tackle is a sending off and this one was definitely not a bad one. The ref was shocking and people here should be backing Foran up not slating him. Whatever Foran is (an affa moaner) he always gives 100% and is passionate about the club. Given his age he needs a few weeks off in the season to rest so a few red cards aren't the end of the world.
  13. By the way, Foran's was never a sending off. I'm not his greatest fan but it was a mis-timed tackle which merited a booking only. The ref had a shocker today for both teams and was one of the worst refereeing performances I have seen for a while. Great fighting performance today with more positives than this time last year.
  14. Libero, that looks like a 4-2-4 to me. Applaud your attacking mindset but leaving us a wee bit exposed methinks. I wouldn't tinker too much with the team for the Hearts game. One more game for Raven before introducing Meekings if things need to be shaken up, Foran for OTJ and Ross for 2-3 games (and hopefully longer). We need goals from midfield, Ross seems to have found his goalscoring touch and is getting into good goalscoring positions so seems a no brainer to me. Oh, and he is a right midfielder!
  15. Whilst I sometimes disagree with IHE, especially when he is trying to be funny, his football logic isn't always wrong (best you're getting). If you don't go to football to be entertained then that is up to you doesn't make sense to me. However, let's give it a few more games eh to see how the squad settles. We mostly agree the offering is better this year and players appear to be playing for the manager but a win or two will settle the nerves a bit amongst as all. Keep the faith!
  16. That's pretty smart thinking Beastie
  17. Genius! How do you think them up?
  18. To be honest, go or don't go it's your own choice. All teams have a core support anyway who stick with their team through thick and thin, even the Old Firm. We all watch the game for different reasons, some for entertainment, some who are passionate about their team and some who have nothing better to do on a Saturday. When the team become entertaining again the support will come back. i will be there every week because I love football and support my local team.
  19. I wouldn't mind if you two were funny. It's just embarrassing, like your dad trying to act cool in front of your mates.
  20. Glad Warren got an hour. He will be excellent for us this season. We know the problem will be up front and proven SPL standard forwards command a wage a lot higher than we can offer at the moment unfortunately. We saw enough in the Coventry game to see we have the makings of a team but we aren't suddenly going to be top 6 after a good pre-season performance, neither will Ross County after beating a weakened Elgin team either. I am looking forward to our best 11 being available at the start of the season and hopefully a good team spirit will see us getting off to a good start. Nice leveller these last two games, keeps our expectations reasonable but hopeful of some decent football too.
  21. Warren should be fit for start of season (hamstring), only a couple of weeks away.
  22. I agree with Ross on the right and that that is our strongest team Has a better balance than last year as well.
  23. I thought Doran was MoM by a long way and Raven wasn't far behind until he went off. Can't see where he put a foot wrong today, made himself plenty of space and his experience really showed. He's no rampaging full back but he can defend really well. Minor concerns about G Shinnie as a defender, is too easily brushed off the ball but the older guys in the team will hopefully help him with this side of the game. Excellent going forward though. With the passing game hopefully going to continue Nick Ross must have a chance of a game as a right midfielder (not winger) instead of Shane who loses the ball a little too easily. Only real concern is up front but hopefully midfield will chip in with a wedge of goals this year. Looking forward to Warren coming back as well, by all accounts a very good centre half. A Shinnie looks a in great form too, can't wait for the season to start for real.
