  1. Tonight (26 July), Rory McAllister scored both Peterhead's goals in a 2-1 win over Dundee.
  2. Yes, absolutely delighted with that performance in what could easily have been a tricky game for us. So far so good, I hope we can maintain this form at least until the St Johnstone game at end of Aug, which is going to be my first live match of the season.
  3. H/T 1-1 F/T 1-2 ICT Boden Dunfermline Wedderburn Crowd 2051
  4. And tonight (23 July), Philip Roberts scored his first goal for Sligo Rovers since joining them a few months ago, in a 2-2 draw at Longford.
  5. 23 July Doug Imrie scored for Hamilton in their 3-0 win over St Mirren
  6. Very disappointing, especially for our star penalty taker, Tansey, missing his first one in ages.
  7. H/T 1-1 F/T 2-1 ICT Tansey Dun Utd Murray Crowd 2501
  8. Adam Rooney scored Aberdeen's only goal in their 1-0 win at Ventspils this afternoon (21 Jul) in the Europa Cup
  9. Do you realise how pompous that reply sounds? What is wrong with the club making a statement on the issue on its official website? Why do 'people' have to go through official channels to get a reply?
  10. Frankly I think that it is a good sign that so many people are expressing their views about the badge 'change'. It shows we care about it. These things are important and shouldn't be changed without due consideration. My own opinion is that the 'pride of the Highlands' tag is not right for the badge. It is fine for banners and winding up the folks 'over the bridge', but the badge should just indicate our name.
  11. If this is not the correct part of the forum to pose this question, will a mod please move it? Thanks. But where has Sneckboy gone? I always enjoyed the posts made by our resident "statto", finding them well researched and interesting. Haven't seen anything by him for weeks, his name not even appearing on the 'who has been online' list. So I hope he is only having a summer break and that he will be back with us as the new season gets properly under way. Anyone know?
  12. My earliest address was in Smithton but I can scarcely remember it. Except for catching Jimmy's bus from Faraline park to get home again if I went into town with my Mum. Then it was a few addresses on Island Bank Road (including the Islands Hotel and a couple of nursing homes) where my Dad was Head Gardener, and we lived in whatever 'tied' accommodation was provided. Finally we got a council house in Hilton (Dell Road) where I lived for my last year at the Crown School and all through my Academy days.
  13. Rory McAllister scored a penalty tonight (19 Jul) in Peterhead's 2-0 win over Forfar in the BetFred Cup.
  14. 16 July Jamie Duff scored Elgin's goal in their 3-1 loss to St Johnstone. In Norway Toby Agdestein scored one (and set up two others) in a 4-1 win for Haugesund, over Viling.
  15. Well, that seemed a lot harder than expected! But at least we're off the mark with a win. What happened to Esson? Injured?
  16. H/T 0-2 F/T 0-3 ICT Tansey Cowdenbeath Johnston Crowd 599
  17. 14 July Adam Rooney scored for Aberdeen tonight in their 3-0 Europa Cup win
  18. I must say I'm very happy with our acquisitions this transfer window. Nice blend of youth with the signings of Mulraney, Boden and now King, and now an experienced 'old head' in McNaughton to give cover for the defence. Considering our 'bargain basement' budget, I've got a good feeling that things are going to work out just fine. Can't wait.
  19. So was Miles Storey, I seem to remember! I suppose that means he'll be off to Aberdeen after a successful year with us then
  20. Can't let Murray's fantastic performance today, and in fact over the past month, go by without a mention. He was almost flawless today. On grass, especially when he serves well, as he did today, he must be the best in the world. Wouldn't be surprised to see him overhaul Djokovic by this time next year as number one in the world rankings. Well done Andy.
  21. Another goal tonight (09 Jul) for Toby Agdestein for his club, Haugesund, in a 2-2 draw at Tronso in Norway.
  22. 9th July 2016 Dani Sanchez scored for his Finnish club, FC Jazz, in a 2-2 draw with Oulu today.
  23. Give him a big piggy bank which he can stuff all his 'signing on' again bonus in!
  24. I don't think you are far off the mark with that figure you quoted in US dollars. I read somewhere that the total amount to be divied up amongst all the teams supplying players was likely to be about 115 million Euro (compared with c80 million Euro last time). At our level that would make our share comfortably in excess of 5000 euro per day. Also, payments start 14 days before the start of the tournament and continue up to the day the team is knocked out. I make that 40 days for OFW. So we could easily be getting 200,000 Euro. Even if we promised OFW half of that as an incentive to re sign just before the start of Euro 2016, it still looks like good business for us. Don't suppose we will ever find out the exact figure, but it must be better than the proverbial 'slap in the face with a wet fish'. Well done to OFW for re signing when he did.
  25. 2 Jul 2016 Tarmo Kink scored for SJK in a 2-1 defeat by Ilves in Finland.
