  1. 14 to 1 too good to miss, so had a bit of that, with Tansey and Warren to score as well.
  2. I too hope Raven is fit to take his place, but I think you have been a bit harsh on Horner. He did well enough against Aberdeen.
  3. Could not agree more. It is an absolute joke. I can see it taking the best part of a week yet, leaving us just a few days to get air tickets (at premium prices), and match tickets sent out etc etc. It is no wonder that some 'long distance' fans just don't bother any more.
  4. I notice their away form in the league was considerably better than their home form, which is consistent with how they did in the cup ties against us. I wouldn't be devastated if we had to play them again this summer.
  5. What was wrong with football at 3pm on a Saturday, and any replays necessary by agreement with the teams. Far too much tinkering about often to suit TV imo. Final at Hampden of course, but semis at nearest convenient ground large enough, which both sides are happy with.
  6. Excellent Sneckboy. You should offer to sell information like this to match day commentators. It would give them something interesting to talk about in quiet moments, rather than how brilliant our opponents are!
  7. Therefore, we should get 1.8 points on Saturday. That 0.8 of a point might make all the difference at the split.
  8. Just spent a happy hour or so watching much of the game again. Obviously it was great watching it live on TV last night, but seeing it again now it comes over much more clearly what a good, solid performance this was. Everyone played their part. I was initially disappointed that Raven wasn't playing, but couldn't fault Horner. There was some pre match talk about the Aberdeen wingers giving our full backs the runaround. But this didn't happen with Tremarco too having a good game, and a great goal too. (Credit to Collum for overruling the linesman's shocking decision). We absolutely bossed the midfield, and the running of Storey and Roberts up front gave Aberdeen all sorts of problems. We were solid at the back too, although the I had my heart in my mouth a couple of times with the short passing between defenders. But this seems to be our trademark style of play now, and who am I to argue with Hughes's tactics? He certainly got them right last night. Good substitution of Roberts with Mutumbo, who looked good in his 10 minutes. The other two subs were possibly a bit late, but overall a really first class team performance. Best I've seen in the few games I have managed to see this season. So we can go into the Celtic game with absolutely no fear, and with every expectation of a positive result. Onwards and upwards.
  9. Mon 15 Feb 2016 Scot Premier A Rooney (ICT 3 - Aberdeen 1) Don't mind recording this one given the final result! Danske Bank Premier C Allen (2) (Glenavon 1 - Glentoran 3)
  10. Who says Collum is a cr** referee? He gives us a soft penalty for our second, and then , correctly, overrules a poor linesman offside call for our third. Good man! Seriously, I thought we deserved the win. After Aberdeen's early goal we could easily have been overrun. But they hardly had another attempt on goal. Great work by all our defence all night Storey's running gave Aberdeen all sorts of problems, and generally we maintained our composure. Mutumbo with some good touches in his 10 minute appearance. That's us in top 6 again. Now let's stay there!
  11. Raven not even on the bench according to BT Sport! Injured? Or is there really something in his rumoured fall out with Hughes?
  12. Five home wins before the split will be difficult, as only 4 of our 10 games before the split are at home, if I've looked at the fixture list properly! Starting tonight we have a really difficult run. On paper though the last 4 games currently on the list (not knowing when Hearts (H) and St Johnstone (A) will be rescheduled, look like possible wins. They are Hamilton and Motherwell at home and County and Dundee Utd away. As PerfICT has said the County match could even be a top 6 decider, and I'd fancy us for that. The other 3 should be wins, otherwise we our top 6 aspirations will likely be shot away. But enough of the 'ifs and ands'. Lets start it all off with a good win over the Dons tonight. Onwards and upwards!
  13. Sat 13 Feb 2016 SL 1 R McAllister, S Sutherland ( Peterhead 3 - Forfar 2) SL 2 B Gilfillan (Annan A 3 - Montrose 3) EL 1 T Aldred (Blackpool 2 - Shrewsbury 3) Spain Segunda Group 2 D Lopez (Arenas Club de Getxo 2 - Ebro 0) Dani with his second for new club!
  14. Whether Nick is a better player than some of the other names mentioned is, I suppose, a matter of opinion. However he will always have a place in ICT fokelore history for his dramatic late equaliser against Hearts when we were down to 9 men in the League Cup semi two years ago. I'm sure we all wish him well with Dundee, as long as he has an off day when they play us.
  15. Continuing the 'off topic' theme, quite a few years ago, after I retired, I did a bit of part time limo driving for a local firm. At that time Lenny Henry was still with Dawn French and they lived in Reading. I drove them a couple of times, once to/fro Oxford where Lenny was appearing in theatre, and once just out to dinner in a nearby up-market restaurant. On both occasions Lenny sat silently in the back of the limo, whilst Dawn leant forwards and chatted away to me like an old friend. I've always liked her ever since. Lovely, genuine woman.
  16. Sometimes I think football was better without live televised matches. I know it is a lifesaver revenue stream to many clubs, and I must admit I enjoy seeing ICT on the box if it is a game I can't get to (like against Aberdeen next Monday). But for long distance supporters it can be a real pain. In this instance (and many others) I cannot make any travel plans probably for another week (after the replays) when the TV companies decide who they want to cover. Every day that passes flight costs increase and flight availability diminishes. Even parking charges at airports can increase the nearer to the flight date one books. Apart from the cost there can be other problems like getting a match ticket posted out in time if there is only a few days to do it in. It was all a lot easier when you knew the match was going to be at 3pm on a Saturday. Ah, the good old days!
  17. I wonder if we even tried for him. Surely if we were interested we could have matched what a Conference side were offering him Unless he didn't want to come this far north of course..
  18. Well done to Shane. Slightly older news, which I don't think has been reported on our forum, is that Tom Aldred (The Tank) of Blackpool won the PFA Fans' Player of the month in December for English League 1.
  19. Yes, after waking up a bit, I've worked out the logic which shows Yngwie is correct with 105. I think!
  20. How about a little head scratching to wake us up this Monday morning. What are the odds of Sneckboy's suggested draw coming to pass? I reckon that for the draw to happen precisely in the order shown the chances would be 1 in 40320 (Factorial 8). But for the 4 derbies to be drawn (counting 'Edinburgh' v Morton as a derby), in any order, with either side being at home, the odds reduce considerably. I make it 1 in 2520. Anyone want to confirm that before I get down to the bookies?
  21. 7 Feb 2016 The Barnsley regular scoring duo of Sam Winnall and Marley Watkins, were again on target today (once each) in their 3-0 win over Bury.
  22. Great goal by Roberts, worthy of winning any game. We do seem to have scored some crackers from that distance this season. Tansey, Polworth and now Roberts all spring to mind. Long may it continue!
  23. Sat 6 Feb 2016 Scot Premier A Rooney (2) (St Johnstone 3 - Aberdeen 4) SL 1 S Sutherland, R McAllister (Ayr 1 - Peterhead 2) Welsh Cup J Oswell (Newtown 6 - Cefn Druids 0) Highland League Cup D Gillespie, A Greig, Z Sutherland (Brora R 4 - Inverurie 1) G Wood (2) (Buckie 1 - Formantine 3)
  24. Wow. How fantastic is that ? And what a time for Roberts to score his first goal for us. Well done to him and the whole team. The dream lives on....
