Have to agree with everything said so far. St Mirren were a joy to watch, as were we. Yes, we had some interesting moments at the back, but that was more through St Mirren's guts, effort and imagination than any great failing on our part. I suppose we could have tried to do something to shore up the left side of defence but hey, what the heck. You've got to give credit to Saints for coming up and having a go despite their (false) league position. Can't understand why they didn't give Celtic more of a game the other week. Even midway through the first half I was thinking to myself that a point might not be a bad result. It would have been a travesty if either team had got nothing. No doubt that Cooper was caught in the headlights a bit early on - looked nervous in posession but grew in to the game. A Shinnie - well what else can you say. Immense throughout, and OTJ looked as if he was going to cause mischief every time he got the ball. Doran kept threatening to do something inspirational but didn't quite get there. I can see the time coming where he completely rips someone apart. If this doesn't bring the crowds in, nothing will. True, sadly. Towns and villages up here are filling up with people who want 'qualily of life' but have no real connection with the place. In my wee village it's the same stalwarts that are always there at whatever happens to be going on and I don't see it's a lot different at the TCS (but I think I'll exclude Butcher from that category). I've lost count of how many 'mates' I've tried (and failed) to get to come to the game this afternoon and you wouldn't believe the blank looks I've got when I showed some of them Derek Adams Team Talk. Well actually you probably would. Most of them (even more sadly) have no conception of football's part in making Saturday (or Boxing Day) what it is. The whole thing about a football game being an occasion is completely lost on them. For the few 'occasionals' who do decide to come today, I desperately hope that the boys put on a show and give Midden a doing, and there's more of the same atmosphere in the North Stand that there was against Dundee. Nothing to do with this post, but I remember supporting Huddersfield Town as a kid and some of my best ever memories were from the terracing at Leeds Road (terracing - note). As 13 year olds we used to get the Subbuteo out, tear up bits of newspaper and recreate the Town V Luton game in the snow with an orange ball in front of 2,000 fans when Dennis Clarke tried a back pass and it stuck in the snow allowing Luton to score and go on to win 2-1. Happy days. For me, Christmas Day 2012 was something to have get out of the way before the real highlight. If I had my way, any males seen out at the Boxing Day sales this afternoon should be named and shamed in Friday's Courier.

Improving the catering might help. I spent all of half time queuing for 2 bovrils and eventually gave up after hardly moving forward during the entire 15 minutes. Rejoined the (by then shorter) queue 10 mins in to the 2nd half and it still took 10 mins to get to the front by which time, yes you've guessed it, they'd run out of bovril. Would be nice to see some sort of other pre-match and half-time entertainment on a more regular basis How about offering tickets for home cup games at a seriously reduced price to season ticket holders. £10 adults £5 juniors and then sell the others at £15/£10.

Excellent. I was a bit disppointed by Roberts 2nd half - a bit like a rabbit blinded by headlights for much of the game but I do sense potential. I'd have liked to have seen Oswell replacing him after an hour. Thought OTD did well and managed to restrain himself. It was amusing to see a crowd of folk scurring back in to the ground after the 3rd went in. I can't understand why anyone would leave early with a gane like that on a knife edge. Serves them right.

Couldn't make the game on Sat - the only home game I've missed so far. Typical. I want to know more about Roberts. From what I saw on the highlights last night eg the aimless hoof to Foran at the back post and the tap in for no 4, he looks useful. The topiary on top of his head looks absolutely lethal. What did everyone make of him? He looks to be figuring well in the POTY poll.

If you're looking to work off the effects of Saturday night's celebrations after we go one better than county, then try this.... A group of teenagers doing their Duke of Edinburgh Awards have been organising an orienteering event at Darnaway Castle near Forres in aid of Highland Hospice. It's taking place this Sunday (10am - 12.15am). I've had the job of supervising them and it looks to be shaping up to be a good day with 75 folk already signed up. The ICT squad came and did orienteering in Forres during pre-season. Most seemed to enjoy it and they all worked extremely hard. The idea is to get yourself round a cross-country course as quickly as possible using a specially designed map. You get an electronic tag to record all the stations that you visit on the way round. The fastest runner sometimes wins, but it's generally the folk who have half a clue how to read a map and don't waste time standing still or going off in the wrong direction who do best. They've set 3 courses, the shortest of which is ideal for kids from about age 8 upwards, but anyone can enter any course, and you don't have to run either. All we ask is you report back to the finish by the witching hour of 1.30pm. Info about the event is here and although you can enter on the day we prefer people to pre-register by Friday night here. It's free to register - just make a donation when you pitch up on Sunday (anytime betwen 10 and 12). If you've signed up and don't make it because the hangover's too bad (or the unthinkable happens and you're too depressed to go out) we won't mind.

The way we started the game against Kille was immense. The problem was that soon after we scored we went in to our shells. Momentum gone, the excitement in the crowd dissipated and we ended up hanging on til half time. I want to see our team going for the jugular when they get in front. As Callie says, we seem to have a fear of losing - and I think that applies to Scottish football in general. The most enjoyable season for years was when we won division 1. I went away from most games thinking "that was fun" and you can talk about loyalty all you like but that's what will get people coming back. We're not the only game in town.

That would certainly be a new experience for me. Ctid's post sounds like it's born out of frustration and done in the heat of the moment. Let you off (this time). For all but the die-hards, football's an entertainment business. If we were a cinema and all we showed were 1960s B movies we'd expect empty sets. There's no shotage of alternative outdoor entertainment in the middle of August to compete with, not to mention some televised sport going on down south. The answer, my friend,lies on the pitch. The stewards could do their bit to help too;l

We must have the finest stewards in the SPL. Sat in the family section this afternoon I felt panic coming on when a man with his young son a few rows back produced a bottle of water. Imagine my relief when two stewards marched up the steps and removed the weapon from this pair of thugs and deposited it in the bin. Our stewards deserve great credit for applying SPL ground rules in the spirit they were intended. It might have been a hot day, but if we're to see attendances increasing we must keep our fans safe by making a public example of these hooligans who are killing the game with their dangerous behaviour.

The Army have just moved in to RAF Kinloss and are really making an effort to integrate in to the local community - I hope they get some as well, especially the troops' kids.

Talking of shops, why not have one of the 1st team players manning the club shop from 4 to 5 every day? Shouldn't bugger up their social life too much and might be a way of getting a load of youngsters coming down and spending their parents' money after school.

In the unlikely event that Rangers get promoted, does anyone know if the SFL will be giving a 'parachute payment' to whoever's relegated from Div 2? There might be a few Div 2 clubs aiming for mid-table mediocrity with next season in mind.

An excellent idea. If it resulted in just 100 extra paying supporters (say an average of £15 a head taking in to account concessions) that would pay for 3 of the buses. I'd have thought there's be spin-off benefits for County fans as hopefully other SPL clubs will reciprocate.
