He was also involved in an incident which should have seen the Dresden keeper sent off, but the ref opted to give both a talk. Cologne took the lead midway through the 2nd half, but a slapstick from their keeper allowed Dresden to equalise about 10 minutes from time.

While this might be true for most clubs, there are a few examples the other way, most prominently Bayern Munich who created a profit in double figures, million Euros wise. Even if their main sponsors dropped out, they would still be in black figures.

I wonder (not negatively or biased) what folks here consider to be homegrown, having in mind the National teams of Germany and Switzerland with about 50% immigrant offspring, players like Ozil, Podolski, Gomez or Shaqiri. Most of those were already born in Germany or Switzerland and definitely all of them came through the youth systems of those countries.

Don't know how the law is exactly in the UK, but he might have a case for cancelling the contract due to deliberate fraud. In Germany, this would definitely be the case. This whole plan of signing him and selling him on is against some FIFA transfer rules, BTW.
