  1. If true, good luck to him!

    Aye, I see.

Goals? Not a single one shown in that video
  4. I'm as reliably informed that his bid was accepted and he'll be taking home 100 bottles of each.

    Well done Calum!
  6. Started in the 1-1 draw at Dresden yesterday and picked up his first yellow in Germany. He was also involved in an incident which should have seen the Dresden keeper sent off, but the ref opted to give both a talk. Cologne took the lead midway through the 2nd half, but a slapstick from their keeper allowed Dresden to equalise about 10 minutes from time.
  7. Then it should be time to say "Welcome to ICTFC lad!"
  8. Oh dear. You know this thread may be read by 13 year-olds?
  9. Signed at Lillestrom till the end of the year. Might anyone explain the joke behind Weiner? I only know one Mr. Weiner, and that is the worst ref in the German Bundesliga.
  10. Just read on BBC that the Newco route is not ruled out. Can anyone tell me what happens if they go down that route after the start of the season, say in October?
  11. According to last night's pre-season result, OTB might have some wee problems to stay up, even with Hearts' 15 point deficit. But OTOH, it's only pre-season.
  12. No contract extension for him, rumours connect him with Lillestrom (Norway) or his home club Linz in the 3rd Austrian tier.
  13. OTB's Hainault on trial at Aalen (2nd German Bundesliga). More interestingly, Thomas Piermayr was released by Wiener Neustadt, rumour says that he's heading to Lillestrom (Norway), but he could also end up at his home club Linz in the 3rd Austrian tier.
  14. Top 6 and a Cup run would be fine. But more importantly our TogetherNess must should be carried on, and those people who went OTB for the novelty factor last season should be brought back to TCS. Let's aim for a 4800+ average crowd!
  15. Well, Germany's women's team goalie Nadine Angerer is looking for a new challenge. She certainly has the level to play SPL, is a double World Champion, triple European Champion and didn't concede a single goal when Germany won the title in 2007, saving a penalty in the final against Brazil. You can laugh now, but there's some precedence: Forward Birgit Prinz had a serious offer to play for a Serie A team in the late 1990s, and I know at least two female goalies in higher to top level men's ice hockey.
  16. Exactly. But their first teams as boys were Bergheim 07 near Cologne respectively FC Augst near Basel as both left their places of birth within the first two years of their lives.
  17. I just learnt from German football site kicker.de that Romanov is hiding in Russia because Lithuanian courts can't arrest him there for his criminal deeds with UBIG (and Hearts). Surprise, surprise...
  18. bdu, one wee error: The New Year's derby is at TCS. So there should be no less danger of it being postponed
  19. Well I guess he'll have that in Dominic Maroh or Kevin McKenna
  20. Tztztz... We might be better on average at penalties than English and Dutch players, but there have been German teams losing out on penalties against Romanian opposition in the Europa League. So, nothing to bother about
  21. While this might be true for most clubs, there are a few examples the other way, most prominently Bayern Munich who created a profit in double figures, million Euros wise. Even if their main sponsors dropped out, they would still be in black figures.
  22. I wonder (not negatively or biased) what folks here consider to be homegrown, having in mind the National teams of Germany and Switzerland with about 50% immigrant offspring, players like Ozil, Podolski, Gomez or Shaqiri. Most of those were already born in Germany or Switzerland and definitely all of them came through the youth systems of those countries.
  23. To add to my post from yesterday, now I know at least one of my defenders in the 2nd League Manager Game of kicker sports magazine ;)
  24. Don't know how the law is exactly in the UK, but he might have a case for cancelling the contract due to deliberate fraud. In Germany, this would definitely be the case. This whole plan of signing him and selling him on is against some FIFA transfer rules, BTW.
