  1. Cheap shot, nothing wrong with White's scoring record at any of his professional clubs including ours, he's not van Basten but we are not Milan. Give the guy a break.
  2. Shouldn't disrespect the opposition Alan, if the players go out with that attitude it wont end well, I expect EK to be well organised and if we get sloppy they will score. I think it will be tighter than you think.
  3. Didn't want to disappoint you RIG since you loaded the gun, you know my feelings but we can't turn the clock back, we are where we are, I'm just sorry that it was all so avoidable. I thank Yogie for the most enjoyable year as a supporter, I do not expect to see the like again in my lifetime. JR has an unenviable job. Was thinking of writing a book entitled "how to wreck a premier football club in one season" Until we can find a Pele MkII I don't see too many managers capable of building a decent side without money, the players are just not there, you might be able to do it in the central belt like Ayr but in the north am not so sure. If we maintain ourselves as a full time championship side that's probably our level given the size of the support.
  4. Young wingers are consistently inconsistent think Barry Robson at the same age. Not sure Doran is ever going to be the player he was, injuries have caught up with him.
  5. Good luck to RF in his business, I was against his promotion which in my opinion was stupidity by the board who had no understanding of football management, a bit like RF who had just got his badges. I was sorry to see him fail but wish him well in his new venture.
  6. No one is defending it, as Christians we are taught to love our neighbour of whatever belief , Romanist, Muslim, Buddist but the comments of Bdu 98196 displays all the prejudices of the Roman inquisition. If no one accepts guilt you are all guilty, all must atone, no appeals. That said, why should anyone have respect to the Pope who has usurped the place of Christ. who says to followers of the Roman sect "come out of her my people that ye be not partakers of her sins and that ye receive not of her plagues" Rev18:4. Note: MY people. Roman Catholics are MY brethren and I have many RC friends whom I hope to convert to the true path before this life is done.
  7. Yes it did go over my head, so why wouldn't the same draconian exercise be undertaken when someone blasphemes the name of God or Christ rather than the Pope? who after all is a mortal man masquerading as the Vicar of Christ on earth.
  8. So you are seriously suggesting the whole squad be dismissed ( including the innocent) because someone offended the Pope (Inquisition at it's finest)???
  9. Agreed with your last post Kingsmills but disagree with the above, the SC was celebrated when there were no sponsors and will be in the future. We do not need these parasites crawling all over Scottish sport, they hardly do it for philanthropic reasons they are only interested in money, they are not Scottish, they are imposters and should be told to take a hike. Money has ruined the game, think about that. PS. please do not take this comment as a personal assault.
  10. Do you mean sack the whole squad?
  11. Your first paragraph is a rewriting of history through your own bias. Had we not got rid of JH we would never have been relegated. RF was unproven at ANY level an act of folly by the board who thought they knew something about football. Were you by chance one of those who was cheer leading for Foran? You reap what you sow,.
  12. Sorry Scotty can't agree, these parasites have ruined too many families and should be run out of town along with payday lenders. Gamble responsibly yeah right.
  13. Very good result, tell me again how many goals did White score? Confidence is everything for a striker.
  14. Wouldn't bet on it Kingsmills, fitting KT and McGinn into the team is bound to raise it's head again when they are fit. I actually have a sneaky feeling that KT called off because he didn't want to play the left centre back role again or right back.Just my thought at the time.
  15. I agree with your statement CaleyD at least the first part of it. The All Blacks win about 90% of their games. When they do lose you don't hear them whining about the pitch or how this or that player didn't perform, they compliment the opposition on the win and set about ensuring it doesn't happen again. That's what I call classy and no way do AB teams ignore their deficiencies they are pretty ruthless at correcting them.
  16. I think McLeish found his best formation and starting 11 thanks to the call offs. Better be lucky than good.
  17. Football is about winning but when you don't, you show some class not pointing fingers, blaming certain players, tactics etc give the opposition some credit.
  18. Just a comment on that defeat to Queens Park, I knew their former chairman quite well and he was very complimentary about how well ICT treated the Queens despite losing comprehensively to them. It's not just about winning it's how you behave in defeat a bit like the AB's after losing to Ireland, you can't buy class.
  19. Well done to Edinburgh City who are where we once were.
  20. It takes several seasons to build a good side especially if you are at a financial disadvantage to other clubs at your level, then you need luck to get out of the division. Pele, brilliant as he was at spotting a player and building sides that played very attractive attacking football never managed to get to the Premier, along comes JR adds one or two players and gets up first season. We can't buy our way to the top division unless a sugar daddy comes along. Even during Pele's time I could never understand why the team didn't get more local support especially given the brand of football they were playing, it was highly entertaining stuff to watch. I believe the club will always be around its just a case of at what level.

    White

According to soccerbase from 01/07/18 he has played in 11 games with 5 of these off the bench and scored 5. Using the same method as above which is probably unfair to him since subs rarely get 45mins, his strike rate is 63% or a goal every 157 minutes. Perhaps the ICTFC stats include friendlies whereas Soccerbase only count competitive games. Not sure why there should be a difference.

    White

White's professional career stats whilst not prolific are none too shabby either, 216 games of which 72 were sub appearances and 91 goals. We don't know how many minutes he got as a sub or whether he was subbed as a starter but if we assume he was never subbed (highly unlikely) and that he played a full 45 minutes as a sub (again highly unlikely) he has a goals to minutes ratio of 56% or a goal every 178 minutes. Add in the fact that none of the teams he played for were recognised as prolific in terms of chances created I think his goal ratio is excellent whatever attributes his all round game may lack.
  23. Tell me, which part of my generalisation do you disagree with Caley D (sorry ICT supporters trust chairman) instead of throwing in your snide epithet and standing back. Picking out a sentence without context is simply being a provocateur.
  24. Hi MJ, according to the WHO obesity rates have increased 93% since 1996 and two thirds today of the male population in the UK are classified as overweight or obese (also a WHO stat). If you are overweight you cannot compete at a contact sport (there are a few exceptions) I include rugby, football, boxing, wrestling you are soft, as you cannot cope with the physical challenge, you simply have not developed the necessary amount of muscle which is gained through training, nor the courage to get into direct confrontation. We are told that the youngsters today are spending on average 5-7 hours on social media that hardly leaves time for anything else outside of school and studying. As regards entitlement, I know of several employers who have offered jobs to unemployed lads, effectively apprenticeships and they cannot find an assistant, the various excuses are 1) the start time is too early 7.00am 2) the work is too heavy 3) The wages are too low, when I started work my annual wage was £600, less than my part time summer job paid me pro rata. I could also bore you with stories of the Welfare league in this area but I wont bother. Look, I'm not going to tar an entire generation with my comments because there are exceptions but as a generalisation my comments are fair. PS Add in the attitude of schools today when we can have no winners and no losers and you end up with a generation of non triers where even the losers WIN ie give grades for qualifications which are in fact a FAIL. Sorry, I need to lie down now.
