If you make the assumption that us, Celtic, Aberdeen & Dundee Utd finish in the top 4 it makes things much simpler. If a non-premiership team wins the cup then the top 3 qualify for Europe. If us, Celtic or Dundee United win the cup then the top 4 qualify.
  2. Nice to be giving you some homework for a change. I do know the arithmetic to calculate the answer so I will be checking your working very carefully :) 12.576 Sextillion to 1 I made it!!!
  3. There are 32 teams in Round 4 Charles. Detention!
  4. Well it will be a lot easier in the next round. No home/away ties so it's a 1 in 3 chance of predicting the draw. God knows what the numbers would be like for predicting the outcome of the draw for Round 4 but if anyone wants to have a go...
  5. That's the difference between statistical Combinations and Permutations. This is a Combination as it makes no difference whether ICT v Spartans is 1st drawn or 4th drawn etc. Order doesn't matter therefore the odds are 1 in 1680.
  6. Going back to the subject of full-time, the manager and 12 of the players went full-time at the start of the 1997-98 season. We also had 6 players on part-time contracts, the likes of Jim Calder, Paul Cherry and Iain MacArthur.
  7. The alcohol ban is ridiculous. Brought in 34 years ago after a Celtic - Rangers cup final (surprise) and completely irrelevant to today's society. Should be lifted for all matches not involving the OF but I doubt the nanny state we live in will hear of it. Other things that need to be tried are running the season from March to November (Sweden, Norway and Russia seem to manage this okay) and bring back standing areas. Whatever happened to the "safe standing" pilot scheme that was announced 3 years ago?
  8. Fixed that for you. Ha ha yeah I posted the link before I actually watched it. Now that I have your description is definitely more accurate!
  9. The draw on Monday is going to be fascinating. 7 of the top 14 teams in SPFL QOS, Hibs, Raith & Falkirk 5 teams below Championship level Home tie against one of the third lot please. Let the rest knock each other out and we'll see what's left in the quarters.
  10. Well let's hope if Fleetwood get a penalty their manager doesn't decide to take it himself.
  11. Cove have plans for a shiny new £3M ground at Kincorth. However if that doesn't happen by August 2015 they will have to ground share as Allan Park will not meet the standards required by the HL. Banks O'Dee must have a better ground than Cove then as they're in the first round already.
  12. Wonder if "Fergie" will get a shot at the first team this season? Seen him quite a few times and he's always done well. Not the tallest but neither is McKay, Dargo or Stewart and they seemed to do okay.

Total agreement from me. Sh1t stirring at its finest. Take it you don't know Dougal and his agenda then?
  14. Graham Alexander was the best penalty taker I've seen. Outside of the foot into the top corner. Unsaveable.

When Fenlon left Hibs they had played 11 games and had 15 points (1.36 points per game) with a goal difference of -2. They were 2 points from 6th place. 27 games later they had gained 20 more points (0.74 points per game) and the goal difference was -20. They were 18 points from 6th place. Extrapolate Butcher's record to a season of 38 games and Hibs would have had 28 points all told. Hope Hibs keep him on just for the entertainment value next season.
  16. You're more likely to come across a Dodo than a Butcherphile these days.

  18. I think it's pretty obvious the "attendance" is not the actual number in attendance which is far lower in some cases. Is that not misleading folk? For example, Sunday's game there were fewer than 100 St J fans in an "attendance" of 3121. The main stand wings were empty so there were over 3000 home fans sitting in about 4300 seats? Nearly 3/4 full? Don't think so. I understand there are commercial reasons for doing this and we are far from being the only club to inflate the attendance figure, but it is getting a bit embarrassing. Maybe just announce it as "tickets sold" or something instead?
  19. When we announce the attendance is it like the Celtic way of taking season ticket sales and adding on pay at the gate or do we count actual clicks through the turnstile?
  20. Each wing of the main stand seats 280 and the whole lower tier including the wings seats 1616. The upper tier (minus the soft seats) seats 651. This gives a total for the main stand of 2267 plus the soft seats so about 2300. The north and south stands are about 2400 each. Add on the west stand and disabled seating takes us to around 7800.
  21. Think the reason they are so far from the pitch is because access is from the front of the stand only. Would that not restrict the viewing from the upper sections of the main stand though? Think that's why a large section of perspex is missing from the sides of the main stand as it is. If any money is to be spent on stadium infrastructure I would prefer it to go on completing the main stand as originally designed. I have a feeling though that the long-term aim is to relocate so doubt any major spending will take place.

You are joking? I'm not "slating a player", just stating my opinion that I think he's not good enough for this level. I base that opinion on having seeing him play for us several times at under 20s and first team level. As for his family reading this, well what difference does that make? Should I say he's the next Gareth Bale in case his mum has logged in? Anyway, what I think counts for zero. If the manager thinks he's good enough then he'll play and that is the bottom line.

I'm not "slagging him off". Just voicing my opinion that he's not good enough. I've seen him a few times for the 20s when he was played out wide. Have you?
