  1. Hampden is the National Stadium and when available has always been used. It is a honour for any player and fan to go and play in or watch a Scottish Cup Final and wether there are 5000 or 50000 there it's where the cup final should be played. No hostility just think it's a bizzar post. By the way the comment was about the thread not your post. Ah okay. Apologies. You should maybe have said "thread" instead of "post".and I'd have got your meaning. Of course the final will be at Hampden as it always should be. Would be nice though to have a near full house to ram the words of the Glasgow media back down their throats.
  2. Not at all. Would you care to expand on your hostility?
  3. Allocate the 9000 seat North Stand as a "Neutral Zone". With sensible pricing this could be sold out. Families will be attracted to a SC Final due to the absence of trouble because of the 2 teams involved. East and West stands are about 12000 each. These are allocated to us and Falkirk. South Stand can take the Falkirk overspill and all the sponsors/hospitality etc. Could be 40,000+ with this configuration.
  4. Yeah and Strathpish Thistle to win it the year after.
  5. The whole credibility of the pyramid system will be in tatters if the Cattachs don't take part. Personally I think Brora will thrash Edinburgh City & Montrose to take up a spot in SPFL2. The 2nd best HFL team, even further north, could follow the season after.
  6. Think your point is running out of steam a wee bit here. I can't think of any logical reason why it would be played in Aberdeen, still loads of travel (for far more fans) and the stadium isn't large enough anyway. Edinburgh would be just as bad. There are 2 stadiums in Glasgow that could be used as a neutral venue and my preference would be Ibrox, but only if they clean it up first. By all accounts the place is filthy now.
  7. Perhaps this was Collum being over-cautious and covering his own ärse? The last thing he needs is to give the game the go-ahead only to see it abandoned after all the fans have travelled.
  8. If you assume the seeded top 6 were Celtic, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Dundee Utd, ICT and St Johnstone, and this was the actual top 6 at the split, then we would have had Celtic (A), Aberdeen (H), Motherwell (H), Dundee Utd (A) and St Johnstone (A) as our post-split fixtures. Motherwell and possibly St Johnstone have thrown a spanner in the works though so who knows?
  9. Win this and arithmetically we are guaranteed top 6. No bizarre combination of results can deny us. I learned today that the SPFL has a seeding system where the top 6/bottom 6 are predicted at the start of the season. It's when a team ends up in the "wrong" half at the split that fixture anomalies occur, like playing the same team 3 times away. Wonder where we were seeded to be at the split?
  10. If you make the assumption that us, Celtic, Aberdeen & Dundee Utd finish in the top 4 it makes things much simpler. If a non-premiership team wins the cup then the top 3 qualify for Europe. If us, Celtic or Dundee United win the cup then the top 4 qualify.
  11. Nice to be giving you some homework for a change. I do know the arithmetic to calculate the answer so I will be checking your working very carefully :) 12.576 Sextillion to 1 I made it!!!
  12. There are 32 teams in Round 4 Charles. Detention!
  13. Well it will be a lot easier in the next round. No home/away ties so it's a 1 in 3 chance of predicting the draw. God knows what the numbers would be like for predicting the outcome of the draw for Round 4 but if anyone wants to have a go...
  14. That's the difference between statistical Combinations and Permutations. This is a Combination as it makes no difference whether ICT v Spartans is 1st drawn or 4th drawn etc. Order doesn't matter therefore the odds are 1 in 1680.
  15. Going back to the subject of full-time, the manager and 12 of the players went full-time at the start of the 1997-98 season. We also had 6 players on part-time contracts, the likes of Jim Calder, Paul Cherry and Iain MacArthur.
  16. The alcohol ban is ridiculous. Brought in 34 years ago after a Celtic - Rangers cup final (surprise) and completely irrelevant to today's society. Should be lifted for all matches not involving the OF but I doubt the nanny state we live in will hear of it. Other things that need to be tried are running the season from March to November (Sweden, Norway and Russia seem to manage this okay) and bring back standing areas. Whatever happened to the "safe standing" pilot scheme that was announced 3 years ago?
  17. Fixed that for you. Ha ha yeah I posted the link before I actually watched it. Now that I have your description is definitely more accurate!
  18. The draw on Monday is going to be fascinating. 7 of the top 14 teams in SPFL QOS, Hibs, Raith & Falkirk 5 teams below Championship level Home tie against one of the third lot please. Let the rest knock each other out and we'll see what's left in the quarters.
  19. Well let's hope if Fleetwood get a penalty their manager doesn't decide to take it himself.
  20. Cove have plans for a shiny new £3M ground at Kincorth. However if that doesn't happen by August 2015 they will have to ground share as Allan Park will not meet the standards required by the HL. Banks O'Dee must have a better ground than Cove then as they're in the first round already.
  21. Wonder if "Fergie" will get a shot at the first team this season? Seen him quite a few times and he's always done well. Not the tallest but neither is McKay, Dargo or Stewart and they seemed to do okay.

Total agreement from me. Sh1t stirring at its finest. Take it you don't know Dougal and his agenda then?
  23. Graham Alexander was the best penalty taker I've seen. Outside of the foot into the top corner. Unsaveable.
