Matchday Thread Motherwell -V- Inverness CT
HawkeyeTheGnu replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Dundee should be low hanging fruit, in that the way they are playing we should be targeting overtaking them. But there's no way we are winning the two or three games it would need for that.- 160 replies

Doesn't the suspension kick in two weeks after the booking that takes you over? If so, it won't kick in until the Sunday after our game. How unlike sportsound to get something not directly affecting the Old Firm wrong.
-
If he gets a notice of complaint, looks like any appeal will be heard on the 27th, so could well be suspended for our game.

Linesmen are a waste of a wage, they seem incapapable of making a decision on their own. While NHL officials can use video to review calls, there is still an endless debate about both calls not made and calls not reviewed. There are barely two cameras at games for TV - Scottish football doesn't have the money to provide enough cameras to work a review system effectively. Also, there's no guarantee our wonderful officials would get it right even then. We are not at the bottom of the league due to bad officiating or any kind of conspiracy. Our plight is entirely down to a clueless manager, and a lack of fight on the pitch.

It's really not a conspiracy. However, your last point is spot on.

Jeez. That's the players hung out to dry! Yes Richie, the players do have to defend better, but why the feck, when we have been crying out for goals all season, has it taken til now for Fisher to get a start. Why, when everyone who has ever seen us play this season could tell you that a midfield of Tansey, Draper and Vigurs DOES NOT WORK do you persist in picking it?- 160 replies

Unfortunately, bottling it has been the one thing we have been better at than any one in the league this season. We have bottled every big game this season.- 160 replies

Not at the game today, so this isn't in particular reference to today's decision. Scottish referees are rank rotten, end of story. If you aren't either Rangers or Celtic nobody gives a flying feck whether decisions are correct or consistent. We constantly hear that bad decisions even themselves out - that only happens in that if one of the Old Firm get a ridiculous decision in their favour, then the other will be a beneficiary in the next game. Fans of each of the other 9 non Old Firm teams will be able to point to shocking decisions they have been on the wrong end of all season long. The officials don't seem to be in any way accountable to any one, and quite what the point of assistant referees is, in the Scottish game, is completely beyond me. Don't expect this to change any time soon either.

That's not quite what I meant ...
-
Nah. It's Brad. Just seen the team sheet on twitter.
-
Is it Billy or Brad Mackay in the line up?
-
Can't see where the goals are coming from in that line up.
-
Before or after he relegates Raith Rovers?
-
Bizarrely, we don't have to rely on others yet. If we win all our games, we will definitely finish above Motherwell, and one of Dundee or Hamilton depending on the result between them.
-
Could any of those three be the 20 goal striker we are looking for?
-
It could be anything. I thought Laing did ok in midfield on Saturday, so maybe Foran is playing him there again.

I assume Mulraney is injured after the kicking he got on Saturday. No McCart? McNaughton in central defence?

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Kilmarnock
HawkeyeTheGnu replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Madden was honking. Probably didn't affect the result greatly, but if I did that badly at work, I'd expect to be shown the door. I don't think anyone is using missing penalties as an excuse for not winning games. But it is a reason - just as our failure to score goals at one end and keep them out at the other is reason we are not winning- 116 replies

Christie didn't sign a pre contract. He was sold to Celtic and then loaned back to us.

Scarlet - Brad was no where near the ball. By going to ground like that he gave the referee a decision to make - not a good idea today. But to be fair, that was as nailed on a penalty as you'll see ever.- 116 replies

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Kilmarnock
HawkeyeTheGnu replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
The point is that everything possible seems to go against us. Hamilton haven't exactly been brilliant of late - the struggle to beat 9 men points to that. Hamilton have managed some pretty unlikely, and indeed lucky results, but if that had been us I'd have taken the points happily. Of course, if we were able to take a half decent penalty we may not be in quite such a predicament.- 116 replies

Madden was a disgrace, but having said that it was a penalty all day long. The really disappointing thing is that Kilmarnock are no better than us. Unfortunately we don't seem to know how to win games. In theory, we can still get ourselves out of this mess, but it is difficult to see how we can get the wins we need.- 116 replies

There was no midfield, so when the ball was lumped forward there was no-one to pick up the scraps. That said, it was a ball lumped into the box that got us the equaliser.

Inept? I suppose that's one word for it.
