This. Saturday is our season. Win and we have probably done enough - too many teams would have too much to do to leave us in the mire. Lose, and we are neck deep in it, with all our momentum moving in the wrong direction. This is why I am furious with Warren. We are already light at the back, and knew we were losing Tremarco for Saturday. To get sent off for two bookings was irresponsible beyond belief.

In response to your eloquent and reasoned arguments, I have just two words... Alex Fisher
-
Yup. Hard to carry any kind of threat when you don't have any out and out strikers available, and only one real striker on your books. There has to be a serious question over our our signing policy. Maybe, with injuries and suspensions, we will see Yogi play the team his signings suggest - a keeper and 10 midfielders.
-
He's the captain and one of our senior pros. He should be setting an example, not struggling because of a different partner in defence.

Warren & Tremarco suspended for Saturday. So we are short of defenders in must win game. I am genuinely concerned that we may end up in the playoff place.

Scottish Cup 2016 - our defence of the trophy!
HawkeyeTheGnu replied to Sneckboy's topic in Caley Thistle
Every time they win a league game they have beaten an SPFL team... I hope we don't go there with a mindset of respect - last season we went to Ibrox, and decided to play the history of Rangers (and I don't mean from 2012 onwards either) rather than what was on the pitch in front of us. If we show respect and deference, we will lose. I am concerned about Yogi's "Hibs are a big team" comments. If he is trying mind games, then fair enough, but if he sends the team out with that attitude, I will be furious. We are playing a team from the league below who are on a bad run. On the other hand, we have recently beaten the champions-elect, and matched, if not out played, the current champions for an hour only two weeks ago. That should be the message to the team before we go out. Then again, maybe we should play Hibs cup history. 1902 is a long time ago... -
My concern would be that if we miss out on the top 6, our form against the other bottom 6 teams is patchy at best. I would be genuinely concerned that we would finish 11th.

Do you think we will ever stop making stupid backpasses?

Just checked on the SFA site - Draper is suspended tonight. -
Scottish Cup 2016 - our defence of the trophy!

Their fans don't know what the cup looks like it. Should they win the cup, I fully expect them to show it off using a traditional open top horse. -
Part of me hopes so, but I would have preferred 'anti-relegation management'

Just back from Dundee - that game made my eyes bleed. Disappointed not to have held on, but given the chances Dundee wasted in the second half and the eccentric performance of the referee (more on that later) I will take a point. We looked in control in the first half, but still lack anything in the final third. Two wingers, but no actual striker didn't work today. I thought that Storey and Roberts worked hard, and once Fisher is back from injury it will be interesting to see if having a target gives us more of a threat. Draper showed how to finish a 1 on 1, but apart from that we didn't really test Bain. In the second half we started on the back foot and defended deeper and deeper. If it hadn't been for some pretty excellent saves from Fon Wiiliams, some good last gasp challenges by the defence and some frankly pathetic finishing by Dundee we could easily have lost that. Ironically, the goal came when it looked like we might just hold on. Yet more points surrendered late in the game. Positives were Fon Williams saves, Roberts and Storey worked hard and Tremarco had a pretty good game at left back - he seems to have found an attacking threat from somewhere. Negatives - time wasting from the point we scored, surrendering the iniative from the start of the second half, and sitting back and defending far too deep. I thought Dundee generally niggled, dived, acted and winged their way through the game. And that pitch was appalling- I've seen flatter tattie fields. And given they have had issues with water logging, who thought watering one end of the pitch at half time was a good idea? And now we come to the referee. This is the same clown that Yogi got banned for saying he was out of his depth. Well, he still is. About the only thing he got right was the Tremarco clash with Stewart - in so much that both players got the same punishment, but it could easily have been two reds instead two yellows. The rest of the time his decisions were baffling. And how the feck was that fat fecker Hartley not sent to the stand for catching the ball ( which was still in play) after Storey had skinned their full back?

I assume that if we draw with Hibs, then either the St J or Hearts games will be bumped?

Because our authorities couldn't run a bath or organise a raffle. -
Isn't the net supposed to have lots of holes in it?

Long shot - does anybody have a spare ticket I could buy off them on the day? Otherwise I may have to go in the home end and pretend I'm a deaf mute.
-
What? The rules being applied in a way that punishes smaller clubs whilst letting the Old Firm get away with murder? Surely not!
-
I don't like the idea of two legged Scottish Cup semi-finals, as it shifts the balance too much in favour of the bigger teams, particularly the Old Firm, as it is less likely that you will have one of those days twice. I do think the authorities could be a bit more creative over semi-final venues, but to be honest I quite enjoy a day out at Hampden for a semi-final. I wouldn't like to see cup replays go, as I think they add to the romance of the cup, although I can understand that they are a financial burden for some teams. Maybe the powers that be could look at how the monies are shared out to try and help?
-
The one good thing is that we are nearer the top of this pile than the bottom, and with there being so many teams involved they can't all win every week. Having said that, we simply have to start doing better against the teams below us if we don't wish to get dragged back.
-
Against the better teams we don't seem to need to earn the right to play, which seems to suit our style of play. Against the poorer sides, we don't seem to either have the stomach for, or be able to, fight to impose ourselves on the game so that we can play our game. Yngwie's stat would seem to bear that out.

The decisions didn't change the game, the poor quality of the champions-elect did. To be fair, if you've been watching Pawlett regularly I guess you'd know an embarrassing dive if you saw one. Meanwhile, we recognise a pile of bitter, patronising cr@p when we see that.

Your team sh@t the bed. Just like they do most times they get a chance to live up to their champions elect tag. Why do you always get bullied when you lose? BTW, Hughes is a hibbie, not a Tim. Lying down to Celtic? That's why we took 4 points off them last season, something your team of underachievers failed to do. Christ, even County got s point off them last season. Collum wasn't the reason you lost, but he has provided a convenient excuse for clowns like you.
