  1. Holding out against the wind!
  2. Don’t write us off tonight. We’ve seen what the wind can do to games at home, and the Arbroath home game this season was a good example of that. We turned that game round and I think we can turn this round if we play to the conditions. If we don’t, our promotion play off hopes are probably gone and we need to focus on staying in the Championship.
  3. Me and my big mouth: 1-0 for Arbroath at half time. Quick break after the wind messed up a free kick for us. Good play and finish by Hamilton. We can’t fault the defence for it. We came so close to holding out, but as Wyness101 said we switched at the toss to have the wind advantage second half so it is up to us to make use of that. We will soon see how much impact the wind had as we should have the bulk of the territory and possession after the break. I still think we can win this, but we need to play quick football and shoot on sight.
  4. In the second we need to shoot on sight and use the wind advantage. We’ve coped pretty well so far but have been under real pressure and will do well if we go in level at half time. Storey’s pace has been our main threat. Highlight for me is the commentary team. They are great fun with some priceless lines.
  5. Sutherland up top still and Storey wide left with Mackay wide right. Mackay has just come close with our best chance so far.
  6. Keatings off injured. Allardice on. Keatings had been looking good too.
  7. Arbroath throw ins going further than our goal kicks. Anything could happen in this game!
  8. It looks like it is in Arbroath’s favour this half so we may be under a lot of pressure. Hope we can keep it tight and use the wind to our advantage in the second half.
  9. Where is Gregor? Goal and assist for Jordan White tonight and a goal for Billy Mckay.
  10. Nice interview on the Arbroath TV build up with Paul Sheerin talking about a certain night in Glasgow!
  11. Devine has done ok so could be a loss. We did win the last time Toddy started at centre half but we played 3-5-2 that night. Really surprised that Allardice is only on bench but assume he has a slight knock. Vincent had a good first half at Morton: we need a good 90 from him tonight. Hopefully Keatings is in the mood tonight. I must say I’m a bit nervous!
  12. Thanks. Beers chilling and I hope my £12 proves well spent!
  13. No word of an inspection or postponement so presumably the game is on: fingers crossed!
  14. HT 1-1 FT 1-2 ICT Sutherland Arbroath Hamilton Yellow Mckay
  15. The full list of signings is here: https://spfl.co.uk/news/transfer-window-signings
  16. No real news on the club’s preview: https://ictfc.com/match-preview-arbroath-a-03-02-2021 It includes the PPV information: https://www.arbroathfc.co.uk/arbroath-vs-inverness-caledonian-thistle-pay-per-view-live-streaming/ Presumably we need to await a pitch inspection at some time tomorrow.
  17. Saturday’s postponed game has been rescheduled for Wednesday 17 February at 1830.
  18. I see a promising player like Allardice committing the next 30 months to us as very positive. We have no money to bring players in and avoiding the risk of losing him for nothing in the summer is good, and if he attracts interest we will get some cash. We have a decent squad and just need to make it gel with the mix of youth and experience. This season may be a disappointment but hopefully there is hope for next season.
  19. That’s excellent news.
  20. Kai Kennedy has scored for Raith against Dundee and Tom Walsh has scored for Ayr against Alloa.
  21. Yes, as things stand we have two rescheduled and two that need dates. The last round of fixtures is on 30 April, so still plenty midweeks, although the cup may impact on that. We need to get into a good run of form though. Arbroath away on Wednesday then Dundee away next Saturday, so a tough week ahead (weather and Covid permitting).
  22. OK, just trying to be helpful! Disappointing to have yet another Saturday game off. This must be our worst season for postponements in recent years. Someone mentioned summer football recently and it does seem a good idea and worth considering again. Being able to go to a game on a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon could attract fans back and even new fans. Sadly I can’t see it happening in Scotland, although I think the Republic of Ireland does it so it could be made to work and tie in with European club competitions and international commitments, as the whole football set up in the country would presumably need to have the same season.
  23. Indeed. It’s stopped now but is likely to freeze and whilst tomorrow looks ok, at 0900 for the inspection the odds are against us.
  24. The cup and lower league suspension has been extended for two weeks until at least midnight on 14 February. It is to be reviewed earlier that week.
