  1. The BBC Sport website and app are looking for votes for the Championship team of the season. We have 8 players in the lists (well 7 plus McCart): Ridgers. Rooney, Tremarco, McCart, Trafford, Doran, Keatings and White. I put all 8 in my team (biased??), but feel Carson, Welsh and Walsh should have been on the list too.
  2. Not sure. There is a list somewhere showing when all contracts expire but I can’t locate it. Goodness knows what our squad will be or when we will next have a match but I hope we all get behind whoever is playing, whether experienced players or youngsters. As others have said, survival has to be the club’s focus and anything more must be seen as a bonus. Most other teams are in the same position. I am undecided on reconstruction. Going up would be good but we could be the whipping boys and come straight back down. I wish White well. No one can question his commitment and, unlike some, I think he has done a pretty good job for us. Storey up front could be interesting: he can’t head the ball either... lol!!
  3. I like to watch You Tube videos on tv. What is the name of the channel so I can search for it? Cheers!
  4. Similarly with face masks. There appears to be some belief there is a correlation between mask wearing and lower rates. We are struggling to stick the NHS so any rules requiring their use in public areas would be futile if they are not available.
  5. Indeed. We have furloughed our players but does that only give them an income until their contract expires? Worrying times for those about to be out of contract.
  6. Quite possibly, but it hit us later. I know of a death today in Inverness which is a sobering thought. I have heard of links between high death levels and pollution levels, smoking and drinking. The former is not an issue up here but the others could be. Trouble is, no one really knows and we have to trust the politicians to make the right calls. Take care and stay safe.
  7. There’s a lot of money in a few clubs but given the current composition of League 2, Brechin, Elgin and Cove are the only teams north of the Tay and Cove are being promoted, so chances are the bottom two are likely to end in the Lowland League in the early years at least. That said, I support the principal of freshening the league.
  8. The two up two down could be replaced by a play off set up similar to now. Interesting that they would have both the Highland and Lowland Champions going up each year. We could quickly see the Highland League reduce in numbers as presumably most relegated teams would end up in the Lowland League.
  9. We need to agree to disagree. Carson has a good season. He was not playing the Polworth roll so not a direct comparison. Anyway, Polly divided opinion on here too last season!
  10. Who’s impressed me with his commitment this season.
  11. Interesting group, not many from the top league. The Highland and Lowland League involvement hopefully indicates thoughts of admitting the respective Champions which could mean 14 10 10 10. Who knows, but we can hope.
  12. That was a few years ago. It would leave us in the Championship next season so no real benefit to us.
  13. Remember it’s at 2000. Settle down and watch it or set it to be taped. Enjoy!!
  14. Even without losing more players than we currently know of, we need to find a right back to replace Rooney and a centre half. Tremarco may have another season in him hopefully. Our midfield is ok if we can keep Welsh fit but I agree, a goal scorer is a must. If we do get promoted, we need to use what funds we have to add more quality and find some consistency or it will be a tough season.
  15. Resurrecting an old topic but another vote of thanks is overdue and well deserved.
  16. Cheers Gringo, I really enjoyed the light hearted “battle”. You had most points at the premature end so are the deserved Champion We are all grateful to you for the effort you put into this. Ironically with the stick he gets from some on here, I think big Jordan White was my big point scorer! Whatever league we are in and whenever football starts again, I hope you will keep this going. Thanks again and stay safe and take care all!
  17. Spent last night watching the 2015 cup final in full on You Tube. First time I have watched it in full since enjoying a great afternoon (and long evening) in Glasgow. I’d forgotten how much of the ball Falkirk had in the second half as they tried to get back in it. It also made me realise how we miss some of the players we had just 5 years ago. Players like Shinnie, Meekings, Tansey and Watkins, not to mention Christie. It also highlighted the pace Doran has lost with his injuries. Even knowing the ending, I cheered both goals, felt Tremarco’s pain and went ballistic at full time.
  18. You could well be right. It would give us a better chance of staying up too if it happens. What would happen to the split as there would be 30 games in two rounds. Would the top 8 and bottom 8 only then play each other once after a split? That would leave 26 teams. Promote Brora and Kelty and have a 16 14 14 set up? After the last week, anything could happen!
  19. Glad you are on the mend. Hope you are fully fit soon.
