  1. 1. Western General, Edinburgh, 1985 2. Edinburgh/Aviemore 3. Mid/Late 90s, around 96 I think. 4. Melbourne, Australia, though off to Queenstown, NZ next month!
  2. A little rubbish that St Mirren win a cup and dont get into Europe yet Hibs do for losing one.
  3. I think St Mirren get the bye as the cup holders, hence the mention in the story. And we'll be in round 2, not 3 it seems after all. But we will be seeded if we get through.
  4. I think a lot will depend on how we adapt to life without Shinnie. We usually adjust pretty well when key players leave and it's mainly a matter as to whether the new lads can step up to the mark. But having lost Rooney, Hayes and now Shinniesta in 3 consecutive years on a free and having previously been able to cope I see no reason as to why we cant this time. Its a subject that grates me as to how so many good players are able to leave for free but that's an entirely different subject. Aim top 6 and 1 good cup run.
  5. Terry Henry's got nothin on Roberts. Nothin!
  6. Now now Dougal it was established long ago why RC had higher average attendances.... 1. They count eyes, not heads. 2. Most have 2 heads as a result of in-breeding, and 3. They can't actually count. It's just widely estimated guess work.
  7. So do you think we'll look to sign him, and should we? Certainly showed flashes of potential and at 18 has the world ahead of him. Plus look at the let contract expire and move to championship for nothing because we're too short sighted to sign a player up on extra year early enough to stop other teams turning his head, potential.
  8. I'm pretty sure if you took caleys highest home attendance and thistles, it would still be lower than ICTs home average and that's not particularly high. I think we've gained a lot more fans than we've lost.
  9. Seems he's signed a 2 year deal there. After rescuing him from a career that was seriously hampered by injury, and sticking by him after his 1st season in which he done his other knee, I really hope I'm missing something as I'd have liked a little bit more loyalty returned. A good player, shall be missed I think. No doubt hubs will ruin him like they do everyone.
  10. Aberdeen have released 11 players according to the BBC, Gavin Rae, Stephen Hughes and Gary Naysmith amongst them. Willo Flood almost certainly joining them according to same source. We're going English though it's almost certain.
  11. Great advice there DoofersDad.... "have no faith in your own ability whatsoever, stay where you are cos you'll just be a bench warmer tis all ye can aim for" (Not a direct quote ) Im quite sure that as a pro football player he has a fair whack of self confidence and belief that he can play at a higher level. I also think that he would be of the opinion he could force his way into the 1st team, do well and earn a premiership move. He might not have the ability for that. I don't know. I'm not a player or coach and I haven't seen enough of him in the flesh to judge, but it would be folly to say that he shouldn't have the ambition to get there and as quickly as possible.
  12. Lawson came through the Celtic yoof system but according to wiki is from Aberdeen.
  13. If you can't use Gypsy why not just replace it with Pikey instead?
  14. Nothing in BBC team news about anyone other than Warrens suspension and Hogg, King and Foran being out so I think the team will be- Esson; Raven, Meekings, Devine, G.Shinnie; Tudor Jones, Draper, Ross, Doran, A.Shinnie, McKay. Can't really rest players right now. Win the next 2 and we'll be in a great position for 2nd. Day or 2 off training after. Just let them bounce to the next game on Saturday and recover. And that Adams numpty's been mouthin off again.
  15. The situation is currently said to be critical, but stable.
  16. With Hogg and King to come back we could have a real fight for places on our hands. If Meekings, Warren, King and Hogg were all fully fit and available, what would your pairing be?
  17. Barry Robson never really had a great deal of pace.
  18. I meant my mates a Bury fan. Think he's joined them and he was asking about him. Who on earth is Andre Martins? Ha ha. I'm so out of the loop it hurts.
  19. 1st time I've seen him. That settles that then.
  20. Pretty sure someone put up a guardian link to that game and Wilson is on the subs bench. You can't be on the subs bench, unused or not if your serving a suspension. Seems like liverpool could be in the wrong, or the SFA never notified the FA, which certainly seems the more likely scenario.
  21. When Hearts were clearly the 3rd force in Scottish football the likes of Gordon went on loan to Cowndenbeath when they were in the 3rd. And he did not bad after that. Games are the most important thing ad unless a 1st division club approaches for the use of a player on loan knowing they need a 1st team addition, it's probably the best option. Not ideal but compeditive football is better than bounce games.
  22. Is he off to Burnley? Did he leave? According to his twitter the other players Jones and Ross have wished him the best of luck, and my mate back in Edinburgh who is a Burnley lad is asking about him. Add to the fact we've brought in Devine and Taylor.
  23. Who's the lad with the long hair who played the ball through to Sutherland (I think) for McKays not so glorious missed sitter. Looked at the line ups and my memory of the players I can only presume it may have been Doran but his hair is curly, or Ross Drapers grown his locks perhaps? This is what happens when you're out the country for 15 months and the last update on youtube for the highlights was December (when I last I checked). You dont know who is who any more.
  24. I'd say Rooneys is by far the funnier of the 2 but Billy's has to go down as probably the worst miss in ICT history given its importance.
  25. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/8580683.stm First story confirming his suspension and the fact it's for the Scottish League Cup. Cheers Hearts, and I'm not sure how anyone can serve a suspension in another competition if it's specifically listed as one so to those on kickback not entirely sure how a game against Arsenal counts. Fingers crossed the SFA do their jobs properly and don't bow to the bigger teams wishes and larger fan base. Thus Hampden here we come- We'll be comin' down the road! At the least I expect a replay.
