  1. Thats what they fear.
  2. Makes much more sense to have a Christmas eve game than a boxing day one for starters. Players get to play then head home to the families and enjoy christmas. Imagine having to watch what you were eating on christmas day. Not have a litte too much to drink. They might be "professionals" but even they deserve a christmas break. And surely a match between ICT and Aberdeen is the best possible tie for such a date? Home or away. Everyone would be home by the back of 8 if they wanted and thats plenty of time to kick back and get the christmas cheer on. Stick to the fixture ICT. Dont let them get away with this needless whining.
  3. Having most of the team all signed up for next season is great news. What with now only Rooney and Duff the remaining players yet to decide their futures. Whilst I'd like to keep Rooney obviously, I'm sure we all would, I dont see it happening. He's likely to go on to better things. Though I would like to think he would guard himself against moves to Hibs (as good as a sidewards step) or Fleetwood (a much lower level (effectively non league) where he could be forgotten). If he gets a good offer from the championship or league 1 even then yeah, by all means it'd probably be a good move but anything lower would seem to be more financial reward than anything. And at 22 he has plenty of time before he has to worry about a big pay day. On Duff, I'd like him to stay. Moreso for continuities sake as anything. But should he go, then I'd say a replacement right back rather than midfielder should be the priority. With the loss of 3 experienced centre halves (Munro - still dont know why, Hogg and Innes) we only really have one recognised centre half at the club in Ross Tokely now. Proctor and Gillet can play there but I'd rather not see that. Ideally we need 2 additions in that department. So in my opinion we need: Right back x1, Centre back x2, Striker or Attacking Mid x1 (and if Rooney leaves, one of each). They dont need to be all permanent, or signed as 1st team regulars but players need replaced. With Odhiambo, Sanchez and Bluhmenstien all having left, one replacement is definitely needed IMO (given the latter 2 rarely played). With Rooney likely leaving another striker will probably be needed there also. The centre backs are a must have. We have nothing there. This position worries me somewhat and I really hope Terry's got a few aces up his sleeve there. So what do you think?
  4. I heard about the Peterhead link as well although only on the BBC gossip page so until it's signed, sealed andd delivered I'd still take it all with a pinch of salt.
  5. Hope we can get Aaron back. Wee touch of class there.
  6. I BELIEVE! Hey it's worked before for us. Just BELIEVE!
  7. Not County Though I wish him luck whereever he goes. It's ok Grant, i'll keep you in FM!
  8. It's hardly a surprise that Esson didn't get called into the squad. Hard for any Scotland manager to look above the central belt. It comes with the territory unfortunately (not saying it's right). Also Im sure many other teams could ask why their players didn't make it. Jamie Murphy at Well, Craig Bryson at Killie, etc. The biggest surpise for me in the continued exclusion of David Goodwillie. Yes I know he has an impending serious sexual assault case hanging over his head, but it hasn't affected his form, and I would have thought innocent until proven guilty would apply in all walks of life. Young Gregg Wylde has impressed of late and it would have been interesting to see him. It is also a shame Mark Wilson at Celtic is injured (or getting an op?) as he's been very good. Is Snodgrass injured? I would have thought he'd be a shoe in.
  9. If someone else comes up with 150 words I'll do it.
  10. From what I can see Duncan gets into the box well after beating a man. Mair makes the initial challenge which looks fair. As the ball breaks to the side and Duncan goes for it, Mair inexpilcably traps Duncans legs quite deliberately with the referee only feet away. Should have been a penalty there. Next Duncan has a wee stooshy on the ground and Mair says words to him before raising his hands towards Russels throat. It seems as though Russel has instinctively and in the heat of the moment reacted whilst getting up by grabbing Mair by the arm and chest bumping him. Lee Mair then took a tumble. Whether the act took him by surpise or he took a fall only he knows. I've seen players dismissed or cautioned for acts like this. Sometimes they will only get a talking to. David Weir goes on a shoving match every weekend pretty much and did it last time Rangers were in Inverness (may even have been to Duncan ironically) and gets away with it. I think with the Referee having not seen it (had his back turned), and the linesman having a restricted view then there are perhaps grounds for appeal. A talking to or a booking each would have sufficed. But I can see why the linesman interpretated it the way he did. If it is only ?1000 for an appeal maybe a whip round between fans and team mates could be arranged. It would be a sad way to end his tenure here otherwise.
  11. As I said, nothing new in seeing Munro do that. However, if it wasn't enough to earn him a contract before last night then why should it be enough to earn him a new contract this morning? It could, and has been, fairly argued that the decision to release him should never have been made in the first place (and I would agree), but to expect that decision to change on the outcome of one game is, IMO, folly. It might not be enough to earn him a new contract on his own but it might make the gaffer think again. Has he been too hasty perhaps? Where it may be common for a player to show professionalism, it's maybe not so after being told your 13 year stay is coming to an end two days before a game. Granted you cant do it for every player but you are allowed to change your mind or make exceptions.
  12. I say AYE! TB mentioned that, whether being serious or not, Grants performance gave him food for thought. He might perform a U-turn. It's possible. Terrys post match BBC interview A few drinks and he might call the chairman to get his a new deal. We need some seniors like him and Tokely. Both ICT men. I dont want to lose Duncan either but if I had tae pick wan, just wan and af'er that performance, Munro would get ma vote. I dont think any decision should ever be cut and dried.
  13. The news is a little deflating. End of an era to say the least. It was entirely understandable and predictable that Roy and Golly were to leave. Neither are close to the 1st team and at 37 are close to winding up their careers. Both have a chance to continue their career but most likely at a significantly lower level. As for the other 2, it's a bit of a shock. As it stands this is currently one of our most sucessful seasons ever in terms of position. Both of these players have played an integral part. We seem to play better when Russell is in the team hovering infront of the defence and Grant has played nearly every game. At 30 they are still well with the peak trend for their position and have alot left to offer surely. As much as sentiment plays a part with them being loyal servants and stalwarts I think what they offer would more than justify extending their stay. I hope Terry has his targets sorted and backed up with sound choices. I hear that Sakho at PSG is a decent player and perhaps Hamsik at Napoli? They might just be able to replace those leaving.
  14. Something like this?
  15. - Esson - - Tokely - Hogg - Munro - Shinnie - - Cox - Duncan - Hayes - Foran - Ross - Rooney - From what little I've seen of Doran I'd expect him to challenge for a place in the attacking midfield trio. He looks like he likes to run at players and has a dangerous cross on him. The likes of Shinnie have done nothing wrong to deserve being dropped for Gillet who has barely kicked a ball for us. I've included Hogg alongside Munro as I believe with Tokely there also it would be a solid physical back line and I think Hogg is good enough to start. Duncan adds more defensive balance to the middle of the park than Duff in my opinion but I wouldn't have any qualms about sticking Duff in there or at right back. I/ve not seen anywhere near enough of Blumenshtein to tell off his ability. I dont really rate Odhiambo. He's a worker but he's got an elephants touch and headers it like it's coming of a fifty pence piece. Sanchez is a cultured option in the forward areas. Good to play just off Rooney perhaps. And Sutherland should be thrown in now and again to develop his game.
  16. Yeah thats the team I've seen everwhere else (including bbc) I think Steven Caldwell is in there to save risking damage to his brothers cheekbone (Gary is probably only in the squad as part of the meet up and train.) A decent attacking team from the looks of it. Be interesting to see.
  17. Not heard a peep but in my opinion it would be no great loss i steer clear of this establishment mainly due to some of the numpties who drink in it (the types that have an expert opinion about everthing but in reality no very very little) ICT should sell up now and re-invest in drinking/eating facilities at the ground dougal Are you sure you don't go there Dougal? Having a social club for fans is never a bad thing. And unless it's replaced with something else it will be loss.
  18. I guess Nick Ross is expected to be available in time for the weekend?
  19. If Nigel De Jong or Joey Barton had done it I'd point to the man who tried it just before Black which Diouf was lucky to shimmie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTc6WfGewYM Black took him out but it wasn't overly dangerous. Seen far far worse, with far far more intent.
  20. It was so long ago..... I was just a lad.
  21. Yeah, guess thats what it feels like to be a manager. Terry'll have a team in mind no doubt but has to wait until the weekend to see whos available and have contingency plans outwith.
  22. See my post- Hayes still unavailable along with Ross and Morrison. Dont think any are back in training or ready yet. (I could be wrong.)
  23. Thats a right blow for him and the team. Hope he has a speedy recovery. ugh... now I'll have to go edit my team.
  24. Quite simply put, this is a fans site for ICT fans, created by fans of ICT, run by fans of ICT, PAID for by those fans of ICT running it. All for the loyal fans of both ICT and CTO. As well as anyone else who takes 2 minutes to register like alot of sites. I used to frequent the Clyde forum during our old 1st div days. It too required registration (and thats an official site). It's really up to Scotty and his team of loyal knights to run it in the best way they see fit, because they do it all for us. NEVER forget that. It is not their job to enhance ICTs rep, but they still do it. This site and forums existence does that alone. 8-9 million hits is phenomenal for pretty much any site (outwith your ebays, youtubes, facebooks and amazons) never mind for a site dedicated to a select few (ICT). What they do for us shows them as among the elite of fans. This site unites the cyber fans of ICT and thats all possible because of the mods and founders hard work over the years. Long may their dedication continue.
  25. Ok as I understand it, Munro shall be suspended as shall Ross Tokely. See player suspensions for feb 2011 Hayes is injured alongside Nick Ross and Gavin Morrison. Sanchez has a broken hand and also out. So my team would be: - Esson - - Duff - Innes - Hogg - Shinnie - - Cox - Duncan - < - Doran - - - - Foran - > - Odhiambo - - Rooney - Team to line up in 4-2-2(wide)- 1 -1 with Odhiambo supporting Rooney. Use likes of Blumenshtein, McDonald and Sutherland where fit in attacking line up as game progresses. Little bit wary about untested unfamiliar back line?... try this - - Esson - - Proctor - Innes - Hogg - Shinnie - - Duff - - Duncan - Cox - - Doran - Rooney - Foran - Having someone to protect the back four could be very useful whilst they get to know each other. (None know Hogg and he knows noone else. Innes is a backup anyway so has no familiar partnership) Lets hope Terry and Mo drill them all this week in training. Dargo will be a handful.
