Where did this story about Andrew Shinnie come from? Would be tremendous but seems too good to be true! Would definetly take Nick Ross back, great player for us who left to get more game time & improve himself (he was offered a contract at the time, I seem to remember). About time we had something to celebrate!

Maybe, although I can't really see Warren & Raven moving on - both are older & settled in Inverness. If Draper stays, that is a huge bonus & fair play to him if he does as he would be an asset to most premiership teams. Vigurs said (I seem to remember) that he would stay - a pre match interview on caleyjags tv near the end of the season. Fon Williams - if a club was willing to pay money for him, I would think they would let him go. He is an excellent keeper but his form was a bit erratic last season (to say the least)! Would be ok with Cammy Mackay & Daniel Hoban methinks - who knows, if Dean Brill became a free agent again...! The core of the squad is good, just need to add firepower upfront (Scott Boden seems to be the main striker left....!), hopefully Robbo will use his contacts to dig out a rough diamond or 2.. Hoping Polworth can step up & fill Tansey's boots...

We might as well stop analysing the pros & cons of the return of Robbo - he's back & that's it... Lets just get behind him & the team - personally, I am feeling a lot more positive about next season than I was before !!

This wasn't an issue that had crossed my mind, to be honest, but the more I read about it, the more I think it's a bad idea. Surely the best way to bring on aspiring young players at big clubs is to either: a). Put them straight into the 1st team (the exceptional ones), or b). Put them out on loan to other clubs - playing at smaller, lower league clubs would give them a grounding in reality, away from the hallowed surroundings of a football academy sort of place

Stevie Aitken would have been a decent appointment, but that's academic now. We should be positive & get behind Robbo & the team..yes, maybe a bit of a safe & unadventurous appointment, but as I said, is that a bad thing??!!

Bit unfair, that -he's been (I understand) involved with the coaching setup at Hearts. As Hearts manager, he did a decent job, was victim to the Romanov regime, I seem to remember. East Fife - as I said before, was due to the travelling back & forth for what was a part time job.. As long as he has a good current knowledge of football (and, given that he's been working within the game, that shouldn't be a problem), then this is a decent appointment. He put a bit of steel into an, admittedly fantastic team..I'm not sure Pele would have had quite the same success with us in getting promoted, much as I like Pele. Who would you have (realistically - no Pep Guardiola..) instead??

Put Yogi in instead of Butcher & it's the dream team...

Personally, I'm happy with Robbo coming back - he ticks most of the boxes for me. Bit of a left-field choice, mind.. 1). He is (obviously, given he lives here!), willing to be based up here, 2). Not an untried manager - previous experience at this level (again, obviously, given season 2003-04!), so less of a risk. 3). Enthusiastic & keen personality. More so than some of the other candidates mentioned! 4). Has, I think, a genuine affinity with ICT & the Highlands in general. In short, someone who is a good 'fit' for us. Would have been happy enough with Sheerin, but maybe Robbo is less of a 'risky appointment'? And Danny Lennon, who is, probably, a decent manager, didn't exactly fill me with excitement... Welcome back Robbo!!

Have heard that Cammy Mackay has signed a new deal & understood that Raven & Warren are still under contract?

I think he left East Fife as it was a part time position & it wasn't worth his while commuting from Ardersier as it was almost costing him money to do tge job..seem to remember that from the time. Ironic,given that it's usually the other way round with our location! Wasn't hugely enamoured with having an ex-manager, but of all our ex-managers, Robbo's the one I'd pick. Maybe a 'safe' appointment & not adventurous, but is that a bad thing?

They would certainly be motivated to prove houston was wrong to release them! I don't read anything into Falkirk releasing them, maybe (as another poster said)it's budget issues. Some players 'fit' better at some clubs than others...

Fraser Aird and John Baird - definetly worth a punt, given they have championship experience &, hopefully, ambition to kick on & improve themselves.

Plagiarism - guilty as charged! Personally, I'm happy enough with Sheerin - if the board tell him he has to take Rice as his assistant, he should 'politely decline'.. Nothing personal towards BR- if Sheerin wanted to keep him as a coach, fair enough, but it HAS to be the new gaffer's decision who his no.2 is..

Not for me either - could see it being a hit with the younger fans though. I'd get one for someone at my work who is a huge County fan, just for a laugh... The Lochcarron wool tartan scarves are nice, for the right person. Some great suggestions at the start of this thread...

Malpas was interviewed apparently - great coach but abysmal record as a manager. How about Sheerin AND Malpas...? Just a thought. For those who keep on about an 'unambitious appointment'..exactly who could we get without taking a risk? We are a Scottish Championship club, we're hardly going to attract someone like Pep Guardiola! Any appointment at our level is a risk, to some degree - the task of the club is to minimise the risk. It's either going to be an ambitious young manager or someone older whos looking to get back into the game...

Very well put and a sentiment that I would wholeheartedly agree with - we could easily end up floating about the Championship for years! Only up-side is that the so-called 'bigger' clubs are out (Hibs/Rangers,,etc), apart from Dundee utd - who will be feeling the pinch, no doubt. Has to be a big push on to win the league next season (which is a BIG ask, I know), or at least finish 2nd - Dundee Utd demonstrated the precarious nature of the playoffs! I'm hoping, that if the club are prepared to pay compensation for Sheerin, that they are convinced he is 'the man' and not 'the easiest/cheapest option'!

Because we support the club, thats why! The club haven't been in much of a hurry (particularly the delay in RF leaving), but there will be some sort of a team with some sort of a manager so we should just get behind the club & stop moaning! Ludicrous to suggest we are preparing for another drop - if we went part time, I'd be thinking that, but we aren't!
