  1. Maybe Hoban will go out on loan, which would be better than him sitting on the bench all season. Maybe Cammy MacKay & Ridgers will be vying for the no.1 jersey? Asduming OFW away & Esson concentrating in coaching? Not really relevant, but 2 local lads (3 if you count Hoban) fighting for the no.1 shirt! Don't know anything about Chalmers & Ferguson - but as for ex-Motherwell defenders, Louis Laing worked out ok. It's how players play for US, not how they played before that's important & if they can do a job, that's fine for me. Assuming Kev McNaughton is away then? Shame, but can't say I blame him.
  2. We're a Championship club, remember - I'm not expecting megabucks tranfer fees here!
  3. Nah, we've gone for youth - orinoco!
  4. Definetly re-sign! One of the few bright spots of last season..
  5. Fair enough, no hard feelings...
  6. Reminds me a bit of Martin Bavidge - talented footballer that didn't want to give up a career to play full time football
  7. P & J (always accurate...!) are reporting that we are trying to resign Louis Laing..
  8. Already got a brick with my name on it.. Anybody remember the away strip the team had with lots of fans signatures on it? Was for an anniversary (can't remember which one!), that was smart - still have mine & my Dad has his too. Probably even better as it was a red & black top!
  9. He hasn't been out of the game since leaving East Fife-been coaching at Hearts & apparently has had management offers which he has turned down..
  10. Very true - but then again, would love to see another Nick Ross, Ryan Christie, etc come through... No more news on the Brum City fan claiming that Andrew Shinnie was about to sign for us...would be VERY suprised if that was even likely, to be honest
  11. Did he not miss a game once because he was 'helping police with their enquiries'? Optimistic that Robbo can attract some decent talent - Baird is a good start, hopefully more news soon re more signings! Encouraged also by the fact he's said he wants to give youth a chance..would live to see some local lads step up to the 1st team & make an impact..
  12. Right on - I've a heck of a lot more optimism about this coming season than I had a couple of weeks ago..
  13. Definetly not, well worth a look.
  14. Big step up from Highland League to the Championship, but why not? My big hope with Robbo is that he will give Youth a chance..given his background and what he said recently, sounds positive. Just hope that if we have promising young players that we get them onto decent contracts as sick of our best players heading along the A96 for nothing! Ryan Christie was a good example of making the most out of a talented young player (even if he is with the sheep just now..).
  15. Why shouldn't we search for talent from the Highland League? I seem to remember when we signed Rossco all those years ago from Huntly people were saying he wasn't good enough for the 3rd Division and every time we got promoted up to the Premier saying the same thing.. Richie Hart did not too bad either! Probably others I haven't mentioned either.. I didn't include Iain Stewart, as I believe he didn't play as a full time player, great player that he was..
  16. I'm wondering of Ryan Esson may be concentrating on coaching this season - he's our goalkeeping coach & as previous poster stated, 4 keepers is probably 1 more than we need. Unless OFW leaves us at some point....
  17. I'm happy to have Baird - could be any reason for Falkirk releasing him, doesn' necessarily mean he isn't any good. Said this before but some players 'fit' better at some clubs thsn others, maybe he just fancied something different? Anyway, anybody who scores an extra time winning goal against sevco - whoops, rangers - in a cup final (challenge cup, for Raith Rovers) is ok with me!
  18. Just a bit...he'll probably end up joining his wee brother with the sheep..
  19. Totally agree - very shabby way to treat someone
  20. I saw the screenshot of the tweet, wondering where THAT came from! Guess only possibility would be a loan move as have no idea if Andrew Shinnie is still under contract at Brum city..
  21. Sounds good to me..
  22. Where did this story about Andrew Shinnie come from? Would be tremendous but seems too good to be true! Would definetly take Nick Ross back, great player for us who left to get more game time & improve himself (he was offered a contract at the time, I seem to remember). About time we had something to celebrate!
  23. Maybe, although I can't really see Warren & Raven moving on - both are older & settled in Inverness. If Draper stays, that is a huge bonus & fair play to him if he does as he would be an asset to most premiership teams. Vigurs said (I seem to remember) that he would stay - a pre match interview on caleyjags tv near the end of the season. Fon Williams - if a club was willing to pay money for him, I would think they would let him go. He is an excellent keeper but his form was a bit erratic last season (to say the least)! Would be ok with Cammy Mackay & Daniel Hoban methinks - who knows, if Dean Brill became a free agent again...! The core of the squad is good, just need to add firepower upfront (Scott Boden seems to be the main striker left....!), hopefully Robbo will use his contacts to dig out a rough diamond or 2.. Hoping Polworth can step up & fill Tansey's boots...
  24. We might as well stop analysing the pros & cons of the return of Robbo - he's back & that's it... Lets just get behind him & the team - personally, I am feeling a lot more positive about next season than I was before !!
