  1. Very uninspiring choices, although I had forgotten all about Colin Calderwood - I can remember him as a decent Scottish International, but haven't a clue on his managerial experience - was he at Hibs a while ago? Hopefully that won't be the only interviews - take it this is for the managers job & not the general manager/D of F job?
  2. Maybe they are all up for the interviews & having a wager on which one of them will become our manager....
  3. Wonder if they are still fit enough to play for us next season...
  4. That's an image I have stuck in my mind now...
  5. Not saying that's who I would want, just throwing an idea out there...
  6. Apologies - managed to get my Billys mixed up - don't want Reid OR Davies!!
  7. James McFadden as manager with Scott McDonald as player/assistant? Just a thought...
  8. Just ask Richie Foran.... Some people might have a great CV but they need to be the right 'fit' for the club as well.. Have a feeling that someone totally unexpected who hasn't been mentioned will get the job..
  9. It's a NO from me for Billy Davies...always though he was a wee sh#*e to be honest! Think it will be between (not in any particular order): Sheerin, Hartley, Aitken, McFadden, Dods, McPherson (allegedly), Lennon (I'd rather have the ghost of John, rather than Danny...), Ranieri (just thought I'd throw that in...), And anybody who has ever managed ICT before...
  10. That's what I said - 'he's has some experience as an assistant'. Worth an interview..
  11. I think Faddy may be a possibility, but, again - straight from the dressing room! However, maybe not an issue as at least he has some experience as assistant & he didn't come from our dressing room. I would be open to Faddy getting the job, hope it would be as player/manager though..
  12. Echo that sentiment - hopefully see him back here sometime
  13. You would probably make a better stab at running it too...
  14. jingsmonty replied to izzy's topic in Caley Thistle
Second that - would have loved to have had him here next season but who can blame him for signing a 2 year deal with Motherwell after the way he was treated? All the best, Alex - we will miss you
  15. Fair play to him - after the way he was treated, suprised he didn't walk out of tbe club after the Well game..
  16. I would have thought this post should have been filled already, before we interview for a manager??
  17. Both Aitken & Sheerin are worth considering..take your point that Aitken has more managerial experience though
  18. Nah, he can't even talk sense as a pundit...would take his wee brother as a striker, mind..
  19. I am more than happy that we are offering McNaughton a deal - he has had ONE (alebit long term) injury, whuch he managed to come back from earlier than expected. Unfair to label him as -injury prone'. JM has had persistent knee injuries, I believe - maybe this is the reasoning? Didn't particularly want to lose JM & think the club haven't treated him well after 6 seasons of service though. I'm all for dynamic younger players but we need experience in the centre of defence too - particularly without JM. McNaughton, with all his pkaying experience, fits that bill for me - personally, I think we are lucky to have him...maybe. Gary Warren, as much as I like him, think his legs are getting on a bit. A Warren/McNaughton centre-half partnership sounds good to me.
  20. Interesting indeed - worth an interview at least. An ability to find a 'rough diamond' is definetly an asset!
  21. It seems Josh Meekings wasn't offered a contract, which I find disappointing - maybe the thoughts were that his injury problems were an issue. A great servant to tbe club Suprised that OFW hasn't left, didn't think playing in the Championship would help his chances of staying in the Welsh squad. Also VERY suprised that Laing wasn't kept on - very decent player!
  22. Any ideas who is in the running for this & how will it impact on who we hire as Manager? Thought Malpas was being considered, but it seems not.
  23. I'm not particularly happy with the price either, but I WILL renew (at a 10% 'early bird' discount') as I support the club & want to do my bit to help them out & get back to the premiership asap! I have never managed to make it to all the home games, due to being a shift worker - I would probably be cheaper in the long run paying per game. I usually get to, roughly, 60% of the home games. But I will support the club through thick & thin, whatever happens. Some acknowledgement from the board re recent bad decisions would have been good - a 'mea culpa' statement! However, I can totally understand that fans aren't happy & imho I would rather have seen a reduction to try & boost the sales. Also, extending the free season tickets to U16 would have been a smart move...
  24. I always assumed he had a fall out with Yogi & this was a face saving way of leaving - but, given his history as a player, I could believe that Latapy didn't pull his weight! He was some player though (not that that is relevant, mind).
  25. Have just been reading online that Brian Rice is managing things as he is the most senior coach left at the club & has been dealing with the players leaving/being offered contracts. So Brian Rice is, in effect, caretaker manager. Make of that what you will...
