  1. Flare, Smoke Bomb!!! Doesn't really matter a jot. Both are illegal.
  2. The 'old school' you refer to didn't need smoke to create an atmosphere so why is it deemed necessary only in the last couple of years?
  3. I know Charles. It even amazes me at times. But I suppose a Chemical Engineering degree and twenty years in the manufacture of acrylonitriles and polyethylenes does kind of rub of.
  4. Not sure that Mutombo is a winger but, going by what was picked up on the touchline mics, I think Hughes is trying to make him into one. A few times he was shouted at to keep on the wing when he looked like turning inside. I do think that given two or three starts he could be someone worth holding on to. Thought it quite funny that after shouting at the lad Hughes turns his back and misses the goal
  5. Smoke bombs do burn colder but they still burn. Many, especially home made, use celluloid, chopped up ping-pong balls, as the 'fuel'. This, like many plastics, gives of hydrocyanic gases and other impurities that are carcinogenic. If the supporters of smoke are happy to breath that in then who am I to stop them. Its just that I dont want to breath it. Further to statements already coming out from clubs perhaps people should read this and hope they are not the ones identified. http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1703-club-statement-on-pyrotechnics It seems to me that very soon someone is going to be picked out for prosecution. Is a criminal record worth the few minutes laugh watching stewards deal with pyro's?
  6. What I seen of this game, from TV, was a team of professionals trying to pass, and becoming frustrated by, 11 opposition players and a double decker. Stirling done what they set out to do. They defended very well and stopped us doing anything. Indeed I'd say they played just like we did in our giant killing days except they didn't get too many chances to break or opportunities to score.
  7. I just wonder if what is printed is what Hughes actually said or meant. Did he actually have a go at his players or was the conversation along the lines of 'Players get a bit of a knock nowadays and are out for a few games whereas in my day we had balls and worked through the pain' etc etc. Modern journalists seem to be trained in twisting and spinning any quote.

  9. A win on saturday, and assuming Aberdeen and Motherwell also win, puts us 5th. A loss with those other results and we stay 7th. 4th to 11th is very tight and all those teams have a right to win. We just need to fight a bit harder and for the full match. I believe we can make 4th place by end of season and maybe even better simply because I dont think Aberdeen or Hearts are a great deal better than we are.
  10. I think this being inside quotes suggests that was what Vincent tweeted
  11. Another thread where the M word comes to the fore. To put what CD and CB are trying to say, by my interpretation, is that CJT have a shareholding of around 10,000 shares which represents less that 1% holding. They have, however, a 10% voting right in company matters which is undilutable and which was granted when Members Club decided to transfer its holding and disband. This gives a fans representation that is written into the articles of the company. It seems logical, and very likely, that the person suggested in previous post, who wishes to remain anonymus, but didn't take into consideration the detective like scrutiny that some shareholders would provide, has, for reasons only known to himself, wanted to help Highland Hospice complete current project and this this was one way of making a donation that, depending on the generosity of those willing to buy the shares, may provide funds to a greater value than the face value of the shares. This act could also have a knock on effect for the club in that the purchaser(s) of those shares may have additional funds they are willing to invest in the club. All in all this could turn out to be a very positive gesture for everyone concerned. Sadly my numbers didn't match last night.
  12. Naw I'll double it so they have the million or so they need to complete current projects. Thats the kind of guy I am.
  13. Get real Shaun. Our club cannot afford transfer fees. I would doubt that Dunfermline would let Faissal go for less than £100k. Cummings probably around £300k based on age and 18 mths contract remaining. Malonga is also probably in excess of £100k. He cant be signed on a pre cos his contract has more than six months to go. We dont have that sort of cash to spend and couldnt match the wages Hibs pay.
  14. Its a fantastic gesture and when I win euromillions tonight I'll make them an offer they cant refuse.
  15. I'm inclined to agree with the Catto theory. I would think they have decided they want out without the hassle of finding someone to buy their stake. How Highland Hospice dispose of shares remains to be seem but I feel they'd be better to sell in small blocks to fans of the club. I think people may well be persuaded to buy knowing a good cause benefits.
  16. Dont know if he has or hasn't let us down. He's had to come on to the bench since Dean was injured and prior to that he was injured himself. As far as I remember he hasn't really featured in a match this season. I'm not saying he cant do a job if needed but I'd rather see him as full time coach working with the two first team keepers and the U-20 and youth keepers. I believe he can give more in that role.
  17. Personally I think you can't have a No 1 of 2 keeper who is also a coach. Who coaches the keeper?
  18. Celtic and DU agree terms but Stokes not keen and wants to go south. I believe he doesnt think he'll catch the eye internationally if he stays in Scotland
  19. Being asRyan Esson will be 36 in march, and in view of his injury recovery time, I'm inclined to think he's more likely to become full time keeper coach.
