A plan to raise funds to keep our players
Apparantly MacBookie are offering 12/1 against ICT stopping Kenny Miller scoring. Not sure if its one game or all season. But who cares. Plan is that 2000 ICT fans take up the bet at ?100 stake. Miller is injured, enough to keep him out for the season, in our first game against them. We all return winnings of ?1300, keep ?300 and donate a grand to the club. ?2,000000 would surely be enough to offer decent contracts to the guys we want to keep. Incidently, tongue is firmly in cheek.

Who's for sheep?
Remember you asked me in the thread where i apologised for my crazy thread, the exact same question, i answered "not sure yet", well i am now and the answer is no because i have no way of getting down and even if i managed to brfore Sat, i expect it would be short notice for getting cover . Ever heard of trains or buses ? DC, would you want to spend 4 hours on the rickety express from Wick?

Richard Hastings
I see he's without a club at present. Considering our injury problems and shortages at the back would anyone consider having him back again. Personally i say no.

Gazza returning to football
There may come a time in your life when you are forced to be supportive of, and sympathetic towards, a sufferer of mental illness. Could be a close friend or family member. Is that how you'd treat them? As for Gazza, I dont know where he is at the moment as far as treatment goes so I cant really comment on whether or not he could take on this position but I would think that this is not the time to be getting involved in management again.

Team for the sheep
Robert the Bruce called it the 'Arrowhead' formation. All out attack. But move Duff to RB, Ross beside Duncan and Odhiambo between Hayes and Foran and immediately i've the defensive formation you agreed to above.

Fixture change Aberdeen v ICTfc
Nope.....Strange thing is, other than the change to their fixture list, there's no mention on the Aberdeen site
-
Team for the sheep
Esson Tokely, Munro, Shinnie Duff, Duncan Hayes, Foran, Ross Odhiambo Rooney Attacking but simple to change to defensive.

Fixture change Aberdeen v ICTfc
Dont think so. Its an Aberdeen request, not a league or TV one.

Fixture change Aberdeen v ICTfc
They're running scared of our away record and likely think that giving us a day less to prepare will be to their advantage. Or, they need an extra day to prepare for an away trip to the Bronx.

Fixture change Aberdeen v ICTfc
Perfect for me. I'd be going offshore on the wed and will be in Aberdire on tuesday night anyway.

There's only one Terry Butcher!
MissICT......don't bite CraigWilson..........If you can't post something relevant to the subject of the thread please dont post at all. It has been noted on more than one thread that your contributions are not in keeping with the flow of the conversation but more to get reaction from individuals. Please refrain from this.

Team fer Cellic
I know what your saying but these sort of things happen very rarely. If we were pushing for the 1st division title and we drew Celtic like Ross County did i'm sure we would have put out a full strength side looking to win the match. Maybe i'm just a bit bitter from turning up at a match that was lost before it even kicked off. The cup matches are always a highlight for me throughout the season .I don't think any ICT manager has given up before a match has started to try and rest players for a match we might lose anyway. I really hope that this isn't going to be a regular occurence either. We don't even play in europe, i can see why bigger teams would field a weakened side in the league cup as they have the league and europe to think about but they also have the squad depth to do that. A couple extra matches 6 weeks into the season can't be that bad for the players. Good points paisley but the thing is we dont have depth in our squad. We have key players already on long term injury list and one more to add as a result of this game. With a squad of 28+ and a good balance across all positions then yes go for it with the strongest team. County, last season, were competing in Scottish Cup. Here theres a greater incentive and greater reward so its more worth the risk. The rewards in CIS are low and to risk the league, knowing deep down that Celtic are more likely to win the game, is a choice the manager has been forced into.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
I dont think our season is a mess so far. We should have gained three points against Hamilton but we didn't. We tried but their very early goal and the way they played the rest of the gamespoiled it for us. Apart from that we've taken three of DU and a point of Hibs. The next four games I think we'll take eight points. Three from St Midden and three from St Johnstone. I'd like to say three from Aberdeen but I think they'll scrape a draw. Kilmarnock are doing ok just now so I think a draw there as well. All in all things aren't looking too bad yet.

Butcher upbeat despite cup defeat
Did you know that only about 25% of Celtic or Rangers fans actually sing and chant. The difference there is 25% of 50,000 is still a large number

Realistic answers
It always has to be survival in the league a No. 1 priority. We have, in the past, been lucky to get a good cup run but we can never plan to be lucky every year. 42 teams have similar ideas in CIS cup and over a hundred in Scottish. There are always obstacles and surprises in cup comps and never guarantees of progression. Progression always tends to be on the luck of the draw and this CIS year the draw went against us. The league affords us more control in our destiny. We know our opponents. We know whats needed to stay ahead of the worst team. We also play each of those teams three or four times so have chances to sort problems and make ammends. We dont get that in cup games. 6-0 can be hard to take but it happens from time to time and we just have to shake ourselves down keep on fighting.
