  1. I'd hazard a guess its because you have Dundee Utd top of the league and maybe ICT in the top 6 It's more to do with United being top. Someone could split the Old firm but they're aren't finishing higher than both of them. Caley being top 6 is always a slight possobility as there is always 1 top 6 place which changes a fair bit. Way back before last season started I suggested that we could go straight back up because I couldn't see anything from what other teams were doing that would stop us. I said that Dundee had brought in too many players that would not gel in the team. I didn't see County managing to sustain any success. I di, however, suggest the maybe Queens would run with us to the end. I was slated by many for my opinions at that time. I dont think United will win the SPL but I do think they could be top (just) at the split.
  2. Bob Harris is bound to be about 70 now. He done the Old Grey Whistle Test in the 70's. The other Bob Harris is contracted to Queens till next may so would cost money. At 5' 8" he's probably one of the smallest defenders in football.
  3. Gary Irvine to Dundee
  4. Foran wont be at Fleetwood P & J today
  5. Scruffy Murphy's 32 Corporation Street Blackpool FY1 1EJ
  6. Well I believe that, if anyone is going to break the OF dominance, the signs are that this season will be the best chance to do it. I think it will be a very close run thing at the top, up to the split. It may well be that DU cannot sustain a push but if they can continue the momentum of last season and build on it then who knows. I also believe we have a team that can challenge for a top six place this season. Thats based on having last seasons backbone and a few good signings to bolster them. The others in the league are not adding anything more than squad players and I think that the management team have it in mind to do with us what they done with Motherwell. But then, of course I'm taking the ****!. After all, at 53, how can I be expected to have a better understanding of the goings on than a 14 year old.
  7. So why didnt ya put the feckin answer in the tech support system ? I did.............................then I figured it may also be of interest to many who never venture out of this section.
  8. And would you like to enlighten me as to what part may be 'taking the ****!'
  9. I agree with you there. (I'm confused about his name. In the link to a Jewish newspaper somebody posted recently it's spelt 'Blumenshtein' yet increasingly I see it as 'Blumanshtein'. I'm assuming the former is correct... not least because there are more Google results for it with an 'e'... but I dunno...) I'm glad Sutherland's getting the credit for a hat-trick, even if Wilson did get the last touch. The official site has it spelt with an a. I'd hope they checked the spelling when drawing up the contract. I just hope there's never a need to alter it to Blumansh!tein
  10. Further to a question from SMEE in tech support section Skysports news states that our game v Celtic will be screened on Skysports HD 4 channel.
  11. Looks like Orion logo blends in well with shirt. No doubt STV will have something on news tonight.
  12. A bit of topic but if you look at the pictures more carefully the have the SPL numbering on the back but no name, so we nust of had a lot of spare strips from 08-09 season. Most likely they were the strips used for cup games where names were not used / permitted.
  13. It would be great to see some of the youth team players pushing for starting places this season. I'd almost forgotten about them because of all the focus on the new signings and on whether last year's signings could make the step up. Many of those youths will have a busy schedule as it is in U-19 league.
  14. agreed. bad taste! Do I get a yellow card ;) Sorry SM....your post was deleted because, without the two abusive posts before it, it would not have made any sense.
  15. Darn. I thought you were meaning some sort of African smoking device. Gutted! Something like this:
  16. Please keep within the site rules regarding abusive remarks.
  17. To be fair i dont remember seeing any other club launch new kit yet. I know Hearts won't be available till 12th Aug.
  18. Personally I feel the four at the top will fight it right to the wire but that one of the Glasgow two will come out on top. We had five seasons in the SPL. If that wasn't enough to sell the club to spectators then I can't see anything changing. Until the offspring of OF supporting Invernessians see the error of their parent's ways our crowds will remain as was.
  19. The way things are looking for many clubs this season, including the OF, I think we have the best ever chance to be in the top half come the split. My prediction at the split is: Dundee United Celtic Rangers Hearts Hibs Inverness St Johnston Motherwell Aberdeen Hamilton St Mirren Kilmarnock I see United keeping the momentum going from last season. Celtic just edging Rangers. Rangers downfall will be the loss of so many key players and their financial position. I dont see anything to suggest much improvement from either Edinburgh team. St J look to be the best of the rest at the moment. Aberdeen have done nothing to better their posotion and I think Motherwell have the edge over them and McGee could well be the first SPL sacking. Killie, sadly, are in no position to strengthen and look the most likely for the drop.
  20. Its the managers right to choose who he wants for captain and I can see Foran as being a very good choice. Grant must also know, and maybe even requested, that he's no longer the captain so why all the hush hush. Surely its in the interests of everyone that this appointment is made public and all concerned can then get on with doing their jobs.
  21. Perhaps someone could direct me to where this appointment has been made official. The newspapers speculate but Terry refuses to comment on the issue. In my opinion, and as Harry says, Grant was a very good captain foor us. there's more to the role than being a loudmouth on the pitch.
  22. Chris Innes played in a trial game for Sydney FC versus Penrith Nepean United on 10-06-09
  23. Dont know if its been posted anywhere cos I've been out of touch with reality over the last week. Well....Stornoway. According to IC we've signed Chris Innes from St Mirren........................apparantely he'd been offered a deal at RC. Courier story
  24. They also have the away game at Parkhead as 19:45 ko.
  25. Never have I understood that hymn anyway. In this society, in this day and age, when so many are intolerant of foriegners settling in the UK why would they want to build Jeruselem here.
