  1. Weren't you the lucky one. Yesterday the A9 was closed for a spell both directions due to accidents. The A96 was closed at Huntly. Cockbridge to Tomintoul is still closed. There's no ski-ing on the Lechd cos the roads are closed. A number of roads across the bridge were impassable to all but 4x4's. Its all very well saying things like people can make their own choices but, if the inevitable were to occur and a serious accident was the result then those people who have made the choice to travel are also making the choice to put emergency service personnel at risk. I always prided myself on being able to drive in those conditions without problem, having never had an accident in all my time of driving. Two weeks ago, driving from Dalwhinnie to Fort-William on hard packed snow at around twenty mph I was going down a slight incline, in second gear. As I turned an easy right handed bend as smooth as I could the back end of my Focus decided to overtake the front end. Had it not been for the banked up snow at the side of the road me, my car and my passengers were over a bank and down a 100 ft drop. Thats how easy it is to have an accident and at the same time how dangerous it would be for emergency service vehicles to attend quickly. Many people, usually those with no appreciation of the possible risks, will be p!ssed off at the game being called off. I personally support the decision as being the right one.
  2. That's a good point actually, never thought of that one.. Surely a wee boost for us for the replay then if they are fit for it. The police should not have postponed the game -- the club should have -- out of concern for the fans. I see this as just another in a series of short sighted decisions by the team. It is very likely that it was the club who actually postponed the game. The police would have advised that there was a risk to travelling fans and that they may not be in a position to cover. In which case there would be no choice anyway.
  3. They were red stripes on a blue background :eat02:
  4. People need to get a grip, otherwise it's "Scotland: Closed for Winter". These fans don't have to travel, just because a game is on you don't have to go to it, it's their decision whether they wish to travel, but those that do want to go tomorrow now don't have that option. Many people have now wasted money thanks to the police. And so, in your eyes, its ok to put the additional policemen and women, those providing the catering, the RC team and bus driver and anyone and everyone at risk because your quite happy to nip along to the stadium. Get real mun. Link below will tell you if its advicable to travel. http://www.nadics.org.uk/lev/index.aspx
  5. was the only football outside the SPL get get a p1sstake from Johnathan Watson in 'Only an Excuse'.
  6. Looking at it again in a more sober light, I would probably have Brewster as Midfielder of the decade. Except he always was a striker.
  7. Goal of the Decade - John Rankin v Falkirk Player of the Decade - Bobby Mann Manager of the Decade - Steve Paterson Captain of the Decade - Bobby Mann Goalkeeper of the Decade - Calder Defender of the Decade - Bobby Mann Midfielder of the Decade - Toss up between Charlie Christie and Ian Black - Charlie had better temperament Striker of the Decade - Craig Dargo Assistant Manager of the Decade - Donald Park Signing of the Decade - Marius Niculae Game of the Decade - Feb 8th 2000 Save of the Decade - Fraser v Celtic Most Skilful Player of the Decade - Difficult - Brewster should be up there Goal Celebration of the Decade - Too many to choose from Best Moment of the Decade - Final whistle on last game of season 03/04
  8. May all involved with ICT have a very happy, prosperous and successful 2010
  9. From HN Hamstring injuries look likely to rule out Stuart Golabek and Jonny Hayes from the derby, while - although back at training - the derby will come too soon for full-back Ross Tokely.
  10. Inditherm Plc is a company that develops and supplies heating systems like that installed at Falkirk. They also supply a polymer based heat transference oil which is also called 'Inditherm'. This oil is heated using a boiler or electric heating elements and is pumped through underground pipework. Because of its excellent heat transfer properties it is more economical than water. Either way it could well be what we use. Another product on the market, produced by Dow Chemicals, is Dowtherm and there are various other products available. All good quality. The advantages of using those products is their hear transfer co-efficiencies. The cost per therm to heat the oil is a fraction of that of water though the environmental impact, if a leak occurs, can be much higher. 12thman, your first paragraph is not strictly true. We may not have the Inditherm Plc Heat Pad system in place but we could be using the 'inditherm oil. So long as material specification of the pipework is suitable and the boiler internals suitable for the product there's no reason why we couldn't be using the oil.

  12. The club want him to stay. Nauris wants to stay. What mores to be said. And according to HN Butcher, meanwhile, confirmed that the club hope to offer Latvian defender Nauris Bulvitis a new contract. The 22-year-old's deal runs out at the end of January and the ICT manager has been so impressed by his performances alongside Grant Munro that he's set to deal him in.
  13. If you read the first post you'll learn its a plea from the club for assistance. Not a discussion about the rights and wrongs of volunteering.
  14. This one? Unless you can read something I can't. One poster made a topical joke and another enquired about the club being grateful enough to recompense volunteers with matchday tickets. So what? That's my point exactly, why shouldn't somebody be compensated for giving up their free time to help clear the stands/pitch rather than have somebody jump straight down their throat just for enquiring about it? I'm not reffering to just this post but it looks to me that on this forum that there's a lot of "one upmanship" running through it at times, it seems that sometimes it's almost impossible for people to comment on anything without risk of it being hastily followed by some sort of snide remark. I hope anyone who is good enough to turn up to help get the stadium ready for Saturday is rewarded with a free ticket, i know times are hard at the club right now but it would cost them a lot more if the game had to be posponed and replayed midweek. TOPIC PLEASE!!!
  15. Ever the hero eh kid. If Ross has a solid cast on then I'm not sure he's allowed to play.
  16. To save money. The club have the kiosks and equipment and charge a company rent for the use of. This way they get a steady income without having to employ people to run the show. People in kiosks. People to negotiate with the suppliers. People to ensure stock control of dry goods etc. People to ensure compliance with catering laws. All costs money. A company like this one, having a large number of clients are able to cut the cost by keeping the people to a minimum and negotiating large bulk contracts with suppliers.
  17. As far as I'm aware, Tokely's injury happened on the field, not the training ground. I believe it wasn't diagnosed as serious until he aggravated it in training whence it was found he had a broken hand or wrist or some such part of his lower appendage. Injuries do, however, tend to occur more on the training ground partly because the sessions can be a bit stop start and some people allow themselves to cool down too much then do something that tweaks tissue. Another reason can be that team mates who are fighting each other for starting positions can be that little more competitive towards each other than they would be against other teams.
  18. Can they no just do it for the good of their club. After all thats what supporting is supposed to be all about.

If I was your bud I'd be checking, first if the order went through. i.e. has the money come of his card, and second a call to the shop to see that it hasn't been overlooked. Normally delivery is less than a week.
  20. Nice. I see you got the unpenalised pass back to Douglas around the 1:58 mark. I think because the ball is actually kicked towards the lad it could, technically, be seen as a deflection of his foot and not a deliberate pass back.
  21. ...and, assuming you all read what Rooney had to say in the papers, make loads of noise. It fires them up.
  22. If its a done deal then why are you waiting till january. He's a free agent so could sign anytime.

Calder Tokely, Mann, Hastings, Golabek Teasdale, Christie, McCulloch, Sheerin Wilson, Wyness Or failing that stick with the team that has been performing well the last few games.
  24. As far as the cup game goes we could be lucky. Motherwell are dire just now. Dundee haven't beat us in the league yet and County is a must win to save embarrassment. As for winning the league I think its now going to be very difficult though not yet impossible. Dundee will drop many more points but we must gain.
  25. as far as i am led to believe Dundee are travelling up on Xmas day , therefor inspection was to be on Thursday , my info could be wrong The Dundee players are to be allowed to have christmas meal with their families before travelling to Inverness on the evening of christmas day. Source - Tay AM Sports desk. Back on topic...........parsonally I can't offer assistance on this occassion but I would urge as many locals as can make it to volunteer. It is financially important that the game goes ahead.
