  1. Thanks Tabs. Thought I may have had to miss out on the pre-match refreshments there. Hope to see you for a hug Sunday.
  2. Birdie, do we want this site as it is, with its family values and sensible moderation, or not.
  3. Please people, make comment on the subject all you like but stop slagging of other peoples views. Everyone is entitled to comment without abuse.
  4. Birdog aka whoever.....over the years, because of how we make a living, you and I have had some good banter. i understand what you say about what is or isn't banter but you have to understand that many times over the last year or two the so called banter has turned into abuse and bullying. I have no problem with a person counteracting another with a 'don't be stupid' comment. I do. however, have a problem when the retort is ' your an @rse if you think that'. Or, as I've seen, 'F'ing retard'. And I'm not saying you are a culprit in that. There are sites out there where people can say what they like and abuse who they like. The whole life of this site has been one of family values. We want to allow the adult to make his view. We want to allow the child to make his view. We want to remember that children are posting so we want to ensure adults also remember that. We all look at many sites and we comment on many forums. Some don't give a damn but I. for one, would not moderate on a site where I could not protect the young and innocent. That is all I aim for. A family forum with family values.
  5. If there's anyone on here who's likely to be at the signing in Elgin on Saturday and who is coming to Perth on Sunday. Could you get me a copy and I'll meet and pay before the game.
  6. The ad highlights famous SUN headlines and, yes, supercaley is mentioned.
  7. Get a feckin kerry oot
  8. Whether or not you like it makes no difference. Its the new ICT scarf and many others will like it. DFC, as the home team, have brought out a cup final scarf. If you want one check their website. I reiterate what others have said about the lady's in the shop...... :P especially Andrina and Tess
  9. I wish people would let sh!te topics die instead of resurrecting them.
  10. Think a leasurely stroll down via a refreshment stop may be in order for me and missus.
  11. You know what i mean though m4tj, alot of fans, including people on this forum, thought it was going to be a walk in the park. granted, i always knew it was going to be hard but firmly believed, and still believe, we could do it. even i got a bit of a shock just HOW competitive the league is. Then again i wasnt expecting county and the likes to be taking maximum points off us. nae quite Alex, Airdrie were relegated on merit, but got a repreive coz of Livi's situation Pedant DSC What he said. However, i do take the 'diddy' part out of the equation. But i do mean the teams that are struggling in the league. I do think we will get a shock when we play the big teams, QOS away, Dundee at home etc. Worries me we cant get up for our local derby, never mind beating the league leaders. Just as a matter of interest. The season we won this league we couldn't beat County the first two games. And we were beat by QoS. We won the challenge cup after knocking out County in the QF. And we had two attempts at a Scottish cup final place. Similarity's anyone?
  12. Are you kidding? it was under his leadership that the rot set in. he was playing guys like tom boyd, who werent even getting games for their clubs! Vogts came in and did what needed to be done....ie, bring in fresh young blood and set it up for the future! Didn't have time to check earlier but thought I'd highlight the fresh young blood that Berti brought in. Six players won first caps under Berti's reign. McFadden, G. Alexander, G Caldwell, D. Fletcher, A Webster and Craig Gordon. All of these would have been likely choices for any manager because they where all that was available at the time. What did he set up for the future?
  13. How can you refer to any as being diddy teams. They are all in the league on merit and many have been in the top league at some time in their history. Yes, even Airdrie and Ayr.
  14. I still do not know what Bob Harris has to do with ICTFC. Is IHE on the windup? I think someone messed with his tea-leaves before he'd a chance to read them.
  15. Where do you get your facts Alex? Scotland got to Euro 96 and World Cup 98 Finals under Brown. Feel free to enlighten us all to the other finals to which you refer took place? They 2's weren't meant to be there.
  16. Apologies. I looked on Amazon and they only had Terry as the writer in their description.
  17. Are you kidding? it was under his leadership that the rot set in. he was playing guys like tom boyd, who werent even getting games for their clubs! Vogts came in and did what needed to be done....ie, bring in fresh young blood and set it up for the future! SMEE its you that must be the kidder or do you just get your kicks from contradicting anything thats said. Craig Brown took Scotland to Euro finals and World Cup finals. What did Bertie do? Quote from Wiki: Scotland performed badly during his two and half year tenure, and suffered a series of heavy defeats, including 6?0 to the Netherlands, 5?0 to France, 4?0 to Wales, 4?1 to South Korea and 3?0 to Hungary, as well as a humiliating 2-2 draw with the lowly Faroe Islands. This caused the team to drop to a record low in the FIFA World Rankings.[5] An October 2004 draw with Moldova essentially put paid to Scotland's hopes of qualifying for the 2006 World Cup, and Vogts resigned the following month, with a year and a half remaining on his contract, citing "disgraceful abuse".[6] He later vowed never to return to football management following this "abuse" though he did not rule out a return to football on a coaching basis.
  18. One man who hasn't been mentioned and one I believe could do a good job is Billy Stark. He's been doing great with the youths and knows the current squad and those likely to come through and make the grade.
  19. READ IT HERE Red Card, I bet you've been sat with that topic heading ready to post as soon as the news broke
  20. People, you have all made your points and aired your views. Please dont let this thread become a battle of oneupmanship. My personal view is that we are not playing as well as we may have done in the past but we are getting points, we are taking points of other teams in the league and we are well in touch with the top of the league. And for those who may not remember the last time we were in this league we played well in some games, we played rubbish in others. With four games to go to the end we were in 2nd position and 4 points of the top. Also in that season, after 12 games played we had won 6 drawn 2 and lost 4 which is pretty much where we are after 12 this season at 5 wins 4 draws and 3 losses. Who cares how bad we play if we get the points?
  21. If you stand at the entrance to McDairmid, on Crieff Road, with your back to Tesco's walk about 500 yards, passing the 208 on your right and the entrance to the crematorium on your left, to the traffic lights. Look left and you'll see it. Its a sports and social club for the residents of the Tulloch area of Perth and has no affiliation with those in the building and stonework trades.
  22. Are you shure Alex - has TB ever written a book ? Bob Harris co-wrote Butchers autobiography. Who were the publishers ? And what is Bob Harris doing now ? Orion publishing - got that bit but haven't a clue what he is doing now - please enlighten me. Terry Butcher wrote his own autobiography and it was published by Highdown Press. Bob Harris the whisperer still works for BBC radio as a DJ Bob Harris the footballer plays for QoS Bob Harris the sports writer is one of the UK's best-known and most widely travelled sports writers and broadcasters. In recent years he has become a prolific author, as well as producing high-profile publications for the Football Association, the British Olympic Association and British Athletics Federation, he has co-authored books with Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Viv Richards, Bruce Grobbelaar, Steve Coppell, Graeme Souness, Kevin Keegan, Graham Kelly, Stuart Pearce and three previous books with Sir Bobby Robson. This Bob Harris is not credited with co-writing Butchers book but his work has been published by Orion Publishing.
  23. We have an excellent away record so Partick and Queens are wins. We should beat Raith. Dunfermline have the making of us so I see a draw. Shore it up against Dundee, they're getting too many draws. County has to be a win end of.
  24. And a trophy in the cabinet.
  25. Orion Group...... that company chaired by Alan Savage is not an engineering company. They are a recruitment company. Orion Publishing has absolutely no connection to the above company. They are part of the Hattchette Livre Group. Thats why my reply is the more likely one
