Sportsmans Dinner
Agree with most of what you say Charles. All the same, had i not been working I'd have forked out for the night and the overnight stay. L_G Would be helpful to know who the guest was before committing, as you say, but I'll likely make the effort anyway. Not keen on ending up at a table of strangers though.

Sportsmans Dinner
I'm sure a few have had e-mails about Sportsmans dinner planned for 7th may at stadium. Does anyone know if this is intended as an all male affair? Also does anyone intend going?

A new website to slag off
Noticed that for all their games the bus leaves from Inverness, which is what I would expect being as they all live in Sneck. Yet if they're playing us at TCS they have to find their way to Dingwall to catch the bus.

Kilmarnock -V- ICT : matchday thread
We were beaten today by the team that is the in form team of the SPL at the minute. What I hear is that we played very well and made a few chances so personally I have no problem with the defeat. In the days when we were seen as giant killers we had a squad that had been together for a few seasons and who had gelled together, got on well with each other and played for each other. It will take time to build up that sort of camaraderie, workmanship. honesty and belief again but I have no doubt it will happen. Jay_7 Rooney is joint second top scorer in the league so how can he be embarrassed with his strike rate. In all comps this season: Griffiths Played 27 scored 17 Rooney played 27 scored 12 Harkins played 28 scored 12

Not sure what to make of the squirrel article. There's a lot of positives coming from Mr Sutherland but, as yet, none of the sureties about the future and about the security of the stadium that most want to hear.

County game on 20th march
would love it to be the last agme of the season where an ICT win would promote us, a county win would promote them and a draw would promote dundee. no doubt we would lose but it would be some finale Sorry to dash your hopes but under SFL rules that last games of the season have to be played on the first saturday of may unless there postpomend so it wont happen anyway a home game for the last game of the season aint bad either Or unless there is still a fixture backlog that cannot be fulfilled before the last day of the season. As of yet there are a number of fixtures in the backlog but the SFL dont appear to be in much of a hurry to re-arrange them. Are they hoping all except the SPL will get k.o'd today so there are some free saturdays before the season ends?

What a better, less devious and less gready world we'd live in if more and more people questioned the wheeling and dealing and money grabbing that goes on instead of turning away and doing nothing. For too long many have been blinded by cash being provided to support the club. People dont invest for no return and people who have shares in the club are also making news for dealings that involve change of use of lands from business to leisure whereby a lot of returns can be envisaged. I suggest the world opens its eyes to the goings on around them. Get away from the 'hard done by' announcer arguement and look deeper into the reasoning for the action. Don is not looking for sympathy. He's looking for answers.

Supporters Trust - Killie Cup Game
Fantastic gesture from the Trust. One that I'm very sure the players and coaches will appreciate. As for fans rep on the board. I'm sure any shareholder can nominate someone to the board. As it is though the majority shareholding would veto that. The Trust holds a number of shares. Many fans have a 250 holding. There may be others with slightly larger holdings that would also support a fans rep. Maybe even Alan Savage with his 12%. If all those interested in pooling their vote were to get together and make a nomination the majority holders voting interest may still veto it but it would show a great deal of interest in the idea and could even sway other major holders to turn. Same goes at AGM if the small holders enmasse were to disagree with a particular proposal then proxy the voting right to a holder os similar persuasion. i.e pass your voting right by proxy to the Trust and let that body be your spokesperson. There are ways around many things and they all boil down to solidarity in numbers.

I dont believe CD was sacked for any remarks made against the 'board'. I believe it may have been more to do with his knowledge and investigation into the stadium ownership business. I also believe its time that some investigative journo got his head into the whole story and made things public. From my point of view it seems that the stadium has somehow been stolen from the club.

Is it not enough to savour a team win without someone choosing a player to slaughter each week.

ICT -V- Partick Th : matchday thread
And a very big well done to Ross County for keeping to the master plan. Our friends from across the bridge know only too well that they can't compete in the SPL next season. The cost of groundsharing at the nearest SPL ground would cripple them so instead they've agreed to help us go up then they will drive to win the following season and share with us.

Away support
IHE 951 at first game. Airdrie is not a good place to judge support. They dont get crowds full stop. Against teams close to them they can only muster 1100 or so fans. Support for ICT is down, both home and away, probably because the gloryseekers who came in their droves when we went up to the SPL are still watching SPL football elsewhere. I go to both home and away games when I can. I enjoy the football and supporting this club. I can't go to all games because of the nature of my work but I do manage a fair few. I'm one of those who dont have to travel far for most away games so I'm lucky in that respect. Many many people who frequent TCS are not able, for a number of reasons, to attend away games. They may work saturday mornings. They may not be in a financial position to fund an away day. They may not have the means or the inclination to travel such a long distance. They may even have felt insecure about weather conditions last week. That doesn't make them any less supporters than those who do attend away games, the big majority of whom, like me, live within easy commuting distance of most grounds.

Investment Needed NOW
Side-stepping the stadium ownership bit can I ask.............who said the club was in financial difficulties anyway? I understand our playing budget is tight and that we're doing all we can to keep within that budget. I also understand the club are doing all they can to bring funds into the place. I believe Darren and his team work very hard on this front. I've seen posts on here suggesting administration but I see no signs of such. What I do see is the club being very frugal in its spending. We are still able to pay wages. We are still able to pay our bills. We are doing all that by keeping within our budgets. Christ Portsmouth couldn't even keep up the payments for their website this week. I believe money is short but I don't believe we are in difficulty. Yes an investor would be great but IMO it would need to be someone who has money to burn and the lifeblood of this club in his/her veins. I'll keep trying the lottery.
