Ref for Sat
I disagree Kingsmill. Brewster didn't actually say very much other than point out that the fourth official had indicated to Grassa that their goal was offside and that the ref had apologised to some of the players for not allowing the penalty. What is any manager supposed to do. Shut up and let the bad refs win all the time. Levien indicated that if he was in Brewsters shoes he'd likely be facing the SFA beaks. The standard of refereeing in this country is abyssmal and if managers and clubs dont make noise it will only get worse. The SFA seem to have their heads so far up their own backsides that its unbelieveable whats happening. Its not just the SPL that has ref problems, its through all the divisions and, now that the SFA have taken control of refereeing of junior and amatuer football, I can see it only getting worse.

Novo for Scotland?
Let me get this right, if he aint good enough for the current European champions, he aint good enough for a team who haven't qualified for a single tournament in over 10 years. Ok i can understand perfectly the reason not to pick him. I dont really want Nacho McNovo playing for Scotland as he's Spanish but that is utter folly. Raul wasnt good enough to get in the last Spain squad despite a good end to the season and being Spains all time top goal scorer but i'd deem him good enough even now. Just because they cant get into a top 5 teams squad does not make them not good enough for Scotland. Only Craig Gordon would come close to that in the current squad. I think this could be seen as discrimination of sorts as hinted by the Scottish minister for sports. If someone does become a resident of a country, they should not be treated as a 2nd class citizen and be looked apon equally for any job. In this case could it not be said that if a holder of a British passport then technically he should be seen in equal terms to any other uncapped resident with passport? If one was born abroad but to foreign parents but lived here their whole life then no one would bat an eyelid. His children are Scots born to one Scottish parent. Who says the bloodline must run backwards? I want Scots with Scottish accents playing for Scotland but with the likes of Commons, Morrison, Quashie in the team recently im seeing the arguement for him getting in. a ) he's lived in Scotland longer than the zero years all the other 3 have b ) he has more of a Scottish accent than all three c ) his children were born and live in Scotland as does his wife. Personally i'm wondering if it should be more of a case that if he is playing fairly regularly, well and is considered of the quality required and is deemed "commited" enough and is legally by the rules eligible then why shouldnt he be looked at as an option. Im stressing i'm not advocating it 100%. Just pondering the idea. Do the words tongue and cheek come into your vocabulary. So would it be right, in that case, for us to have gone for Gerrard, Beckham etc before England got them? British passport holders living in Britian.

Esson 6'1"............Fraser 6' 3" Difficult to say who'd be the best week on week but Fraser does need to learn how to read the game and when to throw out, kick out or whatever. P&J Today

In the words of the Clash.....
If I had an outstanding failure then it was Ralph Milne. He should have been playing in World Cups. He should have won a bundle of Scotland international honours. It was a tragedy that that boy was not playing for his country all the time. He had tremendous talent - and I failed with him. He did not have the right attitude to the game and I could not instil that into him." Sorry Ralph but I wonder if this quote, from the graet Jim McLean is really you

Missed chances
Yes Emma, that gap is division 1 On saying that though.........the only prize in div 1 is promotion. In the leagues below there's a chance of play-offs. In the SPL there's a chance of europe, either through third place and uefa or intertoto. Div 1 is the one with the most competition and only one team will get the glory. Sh!t system if you ask me.

Falkirk -V-ICT : matchnight thread
If only it were possible to appeal and gain a replay.............I think we should close this thread in the knowledge we went further than Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs......three giants in the Scottish game.

Experienced forward required in January
What I think is this........we're 10 games into the season and, partly because we've played with only one up front, partly through injury, we have not played enough with the same two strikers to form a partnership. My gut feeling is that the successful paring will be Rooney and Wood but they need to get consecutive starts together, both home and away, to gel.

Experienced forward required in January
I think Rooney and Barrowman are quite similar, hence the reason they aren't played together. The only one we have as partner is Wood. Rory had his chance and didn't take it.

Too Many Supposed 'Good Performances'
If you haven't already done so go onto the BBC website and listen to the Yogi interview. Even he concedes we should have taken everything away from last nights game.

Experienced forward required in January
Who's likely to be available that fits the bill? Will he come at a salary we can afford? How long will he take to gel with our players? Its all good and well suggesting someone but the questions have to be answered. We brought in the right type of player at the beginning of last season but he still took half a season to start doing something positive. And we're still paying for the success's we never achieved by bringing him in.
