Darren Fletcher
Is this the same Fletcher who's being mooted in every paper today as the next Scottish International player to achieve 100 caps?

Markus
There are people who think the club done wrong to give the lad an extension. There are those, like me, who think it was the right decision. Either way ICT gave Markus the opportunity to recover and try and win a place at the club. The prognosis appears to be that the lad wont be recovered and back fighting for a place before the year end so he has requested his contract be terminated and ICT have agreed. I would like to think that he has taken that decision because he feels he doesn't want to take wages knowing he wont make the deadline and that his thoughts are for the club that tried to help him. I see that as being an honest action to take and not, as Harry suggests, a slap in the face for ICT. He got injured working for the club and nobody at ICT, at Raigmore or, indeed, in Finland was able to predict his recovery time. It may well be that the lad never plays competitive football again. Whatever happens I'm sure we all wish him well in the future.

Injuries....Why?
I dont believe we have any more or less problems than many other teams. We just notice more because of the size of our squad. I dont think it has anything to do with training methods unless the use of the modern gym is a contributing factor. The game has become more of a contact sport than it once was. I also wonder about things like the modern boots, blade studs etc. Boots are being developed to give better grip but is it the grip thats causing the twists that lead to injury. The body wants to turn but the foot stays where it is. Most injuries tend to be ligament and tendon damage. Muscle can be developed and strengthened, ligaments and tendons cant. More and more people are encouraged to use gym's, tone up etc. Is gym work resulting in the muscle becoming too strong for the bits that attach it to the bone.

January Transfer Window.
I'm happy with what we've got with the addition of a right back and a Brewster type front man. In fact, maybe Brew should kit up for the Celtic game.

To put it in simpler terms and assuming 1000 concessions Present 3000___________________Future 4000 2000 x 20 = 40000______________3000 x 10 = 30000 1000 x 10 = 10000______________1000 x 5 = 5000 Total_______50000________________________35000 In summary an extra 1000 through the gates will cost the club 15000.

How long before the EPL bubble bursts?
It all depends how you define debt as to what will happen. As Mr C***y above says the assets of the clubs are more than enough to cover the money they owe. They are able to make the repayments. Man U, I believe, actually reported profit in recent times. If those clubs were unable to make the repayments on the loans etc then I doubt they'd be in business now.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought there were 2500 seats in the goal stands. as the south stand is allocated away we are always going to be at least 2000 short of capacity for most of the season. So 5000 home fans is about what we should have. Take out those who cant make games for holiday, work, or whatever reason and we're maybe left with around 4000. There is, and always has been, a shortfall of around 1000 home supporters. Comparrisons shouldn't be made with old Caley / Thistle days. Football support has been in the decline for many years now. Partly cost, partly quality but, I believe, mostly the fun of going isn't there any more.

Markus
ICT did not release Markus. ICT agreed to terminate his contract at the request of the player who has decided he wants to stay home and play in Finland. Whether we agree or not this club showed compassion for a player who had the potential to do a job for the club. We gave him the chance to recover from his injury and prove he could make it. He has decided to leave and I, for one, wish him every success in the future.

The Silence is Deafening
I agree with CD. Duff is 18. McGuire 28. 10 yrs more experience. Dont think he was fully fit to start on sat, hence the reason he was dropped. Grant IMO is not fully match fit yet but getting there. The problem is not that a defender makes a mistake, its that we haven't got the backline settled enough to be able to cover that mistake. Proctors likely to be out for a while and I dont see anyone, other than maybe McBain, who can slot in at the back. We definitely need another one or two experienced defenders. Duff will make mistakes, just like the more experienced guys, but if he learns from them then I dont see a reason to get on his back. We're ICT, not Rangers or Celtic. Do you think Brew will be back in for Dodds in January? Which Dodds would that be? I wasn't aware he'd been in for any. If you mean Dods then the answer is no. There's no way he's going to come back to us for half of what he earns at DU, especially when they are pushing hard, and have the ability, for a european place.

Numbers
Squad numbers came about when names started appearing on shirts. Too expensive and inconvenient to add names prior to each match when the team list is announced.

Not at the game today
Point 1. My comment wasn't directed at you. It was directed (with a whistley) at the person who doesn't want to spend so much on away games. Point 2. I have a 220 mile round trip and spend a damn sight more than ?60 to watch us lose at home. But then I'm a supporter regardless. Maybe so Alex, but not everyone are on Offshore salary. No, most people earn more than that
