FROM TEAMTALK.COM Brewster happy to go distance Craig Brewster does not care if it takes extra-time and penalties for Inverness to win their Co-op Insurance Cup tie against Falkirk The Highlanders only progressed into the quarter-finals after two tense victories. Brewster's side squeezed past Arbroath on penalties in the second round and endured an equally nail-biting encounter with Morton in the following round, eventually winning 2-1 after extra-time. But Brewster is quite prepared to go through the dreaded lottery of penalty kicks again if it means his side make it into their first ever league cup semi-final. He said: "It doesn't matter how we get through. The main thing is getting in that draw for the final four. "If the match goes to extra-time or penalties then we will be ready for it." Inverness have been defeated three times at the quarter-final stage of the competition in the past, most recently against Aberdeen last season in a 4-1 loss. However Brewster is hopeful that his side can finally earn a place in the last four of the cup. "It would be nice to get into the semi-final, especially as we don't have a great cup tradition," he said. "We hope we can change that against Falkirk." The Highlanders already know what it feels like to defeat John Hughes' side at the Falkirk Stadium. Dougie Imrie's late-strike gave them a 2-1 victory there back in August. Brewster, whose only absentee for the match is the injured Phil McGuire, is hoping for more of the same tomorrow evening. He added: "It was a great performance that day and we need another one tomorrow night to get us into the semi-final. We have got to take confidence from the way we played against them last time." Inverness will still be smarting after throwing away a one-goal lead against Motherwell in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League at the weekend. However they will have been boosted by the news that Falkirk forward Steve Lovell will miss the match through suspension, after being sent-off against Kilmarnock on Saturday. Nonetheless, Brewster is expecting a tough match against a Falkirk side that will be just as desperate as Caley to get themselves into the last four of the competition. He said: "We know that they'll be determined to win the match and we just have to be ready for it."

Decisive season.
Wonder if Barry could last a full game up front alongside Rooney

Attendances --crisis mounting?
Scotty, I think most of those who created atmosphere and banter above the tunnel are in the North stand now.

Nah. I'm bored with the league now. Time we won a cup. Or at least got to a cup final. Those back-to-back semis at Hampden were excellent. Have high hopes of being able to go to Falkirk - took a lot of work home with me tonight to free up tomorrow. I hope both teams play the way they did at the same venue a few weeks back... Hmmm i dnno, CIS cup would be nice, i just hope we stay up, if we dont financially were boned. Id rather get three points myself. Its more important to stay a prem side and consolidate than to get a cup, for me anyway. With the cup comes money

Oops sorry.........made an ass of calculating. Must have divided total by 5 instead of 6. Ignore all I said...........its worse than I thought.................we're doomed.

I think it can be said that all of our Managers have been able to attract a few gems from the lower divisions. The problem seems to be getting them to play as a team. Where's the camaraderie gone. The laugh and joke during warm up. Thats the bit thats missing.

Attendances --crisis mounting?
Are we really down on attendances. The average for this time last season was 5368 whereas this season its 4959. Down 409 but the teams we played at home last season were Rangers, Dundee U, Hearts, Falkirk and Aberdeen. Rangers crowd was 7711 and Aberdeen 6023. The others all bring a reasonable support as well and all gates were above 4000 with Hearts close of 5000. This season we've had Hamilton, Hibs, St Mirren, Killie, Celtic and Motherwell. Hamilton and St Mirren dont bring more than a few dozen fans. The rest have always been just above the 4000 mark apart from Celtic. Lets wait till we've played everyone at home and see if we are losing out on crowds.

Firstly. I never seen the match so cant comment other than to say listening on the radio It didn't seem like a bad performance and reading the newspapers the same conclusion could be arrived at. We created planty chances but couldn't find the net. Carpark....I believe we have no carpark stewards after the game because some selfish @rse deliberately bumped into a steward who was trying to control the traffic flow. If that is so then what chance they adhere to tape and bollards. As for the taxation thing if the carpark is surfaced I'm sure the club would easily cover this with parking fee's. At the moment there is nobody taking cash for parking before 2pm on a saturday. By this time the carpark is half full. Shop....definitaley something that needs attention. TV's in mainstand concourse's.........I was speaking to Les Kidger about this very thing a couple of weeks ago and my understanding is that it will happen. Entertainment..........this is another that could be sorted fairly easily if heads were put together. Even a pipe band would be better than what's there at present. Perhaps cheerleaders. It woult take too much thought, and little cost, to make the whole matchday experience more enjoyable for the fan.

I wonder would Charlie take the top job now that Savage isn't pulling strings.

For me it was definitely the weather that kept me at home. BBC reported heavy rain and gales. Indeed I think it was probably the only time I've known the Kessock bridge to be closed to high sided vehicles on a match day. For me to travel up by public transport I set of from home just after nine in the morning. If the match was to be called of the decision wouldn't be made till twelve. I'd be pretty close to Sneck by that time and pretty pee'd of at a wasted journey.

What Brewster has to say
I was out of bed but the thought of a 220 mile round trip in gales and driving rain just didn't appeal.

Inside information
Your imaginary life as a Secret Agent sounds fascinating Alex. The person who started the thread will understant the word 'client'. For everyone else there is no SECRECY. Its all about confidentiality...................if someone tells me something in confidence I respect that.

In the words of the Clash.....
And for those who think I know nothing think common denominator.................Age...High School......Caol....Fort William

Inside information
Some people speak to people in confidence. Just as you can't divulge what your clients tell you then neither can I divulge what someone tells me in confidence. I may try to hint in a round about way but I wouldnt say what I was told outright.

Clach
Dont think so.......we dont enter till R4

In the words of the Clash.....
Not true..........why Parky left had nothing to do with Brew............more to do with a much higher regime.

The reason that we're losing games
I watch a lot of Premiership games as well as German, Spanish and Dutch and its not headed goals that win the majority of those games.............its the opportune shot from thirty yards.

In the words of the Clash.....
I vote Fiona for next manager

What Brewster has to say

The Season So Far
Dave, having watched Rangers perform today, and remembering our performance against Celtic last week I would not bet against us. As to the season so far............its been rather strange. Apart from the twins of evil nobody is pulling away from anyone else. Games thet should have been won have been lost ( Killie today) Games that should have been lost have been won (St Mirren 3 weeks ago) So really, the season hasn't really started yet.
-
In the words of the Clash.....
I wouldn't say either of you are wrong. I dont believe any manager should get a second chance. Once gone should be forgotten. What I do think though is this.........we have a fairly new team. Some good players among them. They haven't quite gelled yet but I believe they will. This would be the wrong time to make changes at the top so I think he should stay...........at least till january.
-
What Brewster has to say
Not really surprising that you think that but I must admit that I agree with what he says too. Do you honestly expect more fans to keep shelling out high sums of money to watch ICT in Inverness given the, lets be honest here, abysmal home record? Five wins in ten months is hardly going to get the Inverness faithful storming towards the Longman is it? No. And niether will todays weather. But!! Unless the gates increase then we cant afford the players we need. Catch 22 mate.

What Brewster has to say
And so long as we cant even muster 3000 home fans on a saturday afternoon then that striker is never going to appear. But if someone could take Gary Wood aside and give him intense training and a jab to boost his maturity then I'd say 6' 2" and over thirteen stone should be what your looking for.

What Brewster has to say
Could have been worse Richard. It it wasn't heaving down and blowing a gale at nine this morning I'd have made the effort to get to the station.
