  1. When did Charlie Christie 'drop' John Rankin. John played throughout his first season with us, was benched for the last two games to allow Paatelianen a start. Nothing more sinister than that. John also started in three of the four games Charlie was in charge at the start of 07-08 season. So how anyone can suggest he was out of favour I dont know. My understanding is that JR requested a transfer after Brewster came in and was told that if he found a club who'd pay the right price he was free to go. JR was started on a few occassions under Brew but had no intention of staying. His ambitions were greater than he could expect at ICT and expressions of 'I deserve as much as he gets' may have helped his decision. The question people should be asking is not to do with Brews tactics or about what he has to work with but more why is it that a team of players who have shown what they are capable of against the top opposition are not motivated enough to perform at any other time. Why does there appear to be a dressing room split? Where's the camaraderie gone? What is the underlying cause of unrest among playing staff? Oh! and according to Chick Young on radio last night Barry is now a coach at the club.

How come its only Ross Tokely's bookings that are remembered. Yet I dont recall him ever serving a suspension under the tot up system. I may be wrong but I think his only ban has been the result of a red card which would suggest that he doesn't actually pick up too many yellows. The second thing to consider in these days of atrocious refereeing is how many cards are justified?
  3. They made hard work of that. Draw for quarters on thursday.
  4. And what is an SPL player. Apart from a number of high cost OF players the majority of the rest are pretty much of the same standard and the majority of our squad could fit into any of the other teams. Our problem is not the standard of player. Its the teamwork and understanding. Ross Tokely makes his runs and often gets in an excellent cross. Others, who should be covering, dont do their job. Look at Celtic. All their backs make runs forward but they have midfielders attuned to this and who get back and cover. They believe in attack from the back and defend from the front.
  5. Pele's enjoying himself motivating disadvantaged young folk.
  6. If they want to protest the pricing then why aren't they starting with their own club. Considering the amount of money the OF get from Carling, from their cut of SPL sponsorship and from gate reciepts and merchandising perhaps they should be cheaper than the rest.
  7. I can see your knickers
  8. Considering its ?28 for away fans at Parkhead they have a bit of a cheek
  9. Blackie definitley threw down his shirt inside the dugout
  10. Maybe so but theoretically we should be top of the league today. Six points at home and at least one yesterday.
  11. Nothing at all wrong with the subs that came on. Its the ones he took of that baffle me.
  12. That and pride, passion, camaraderie and teamwork
  13. If I had my say I'd make changes at the top. We have a good squad but they aint being motivated. And thats down to the coaches
  14. Mon the wee boys................there's places up for grabs in the big team.
  15. Nobody thinks he hasn't a clue. He's not a tactician though. On saying that its his right hand man who takes down all the notes.
  16. I hope to christ we can beat the drop but unless we can find another 1000 season ticket sales I cant see it lasting. We are running at a loss with what we have so we cant bring in better.
  17. The funniest thing I saw from that was the wee goalie who led his team out and almost tripped them all up when he stopped at the edge of the pitch, knelt down and kissed the grass.
  18. My guesstimate is there was close on 500 and the guys and girls at the back were great. Lots of noise, lots of songs and chants. No trouble with stewards or police, apart from a little misunderstanding over a bottle of coke, which, I believe, turned out to be something and nothing. Well done to all who made the effort and all who made the noise. Shame the guys on the green bit weren't so keen.
  19. You enjoy your view of the game young one. In time you'll learn more and understand the frustrations. Personally I dont blame Brewster on his own. He's gone out and done what he can with the money available. I do, however, blame a number of players in this team. We all know what they can do but they dont seem to want to do it. Every now and again someone comes on to this forum and suggests so and so is away to Hibs or Falkirk or Aberdeen. Sorry but based on effort and performances so far this season there's only one player who'd interest other clubs and I believe Mr Black and his family would like to stay in Inverness. For the rest I wonder if the top half of div 1, let alone higher than us, would be interested. Someone, or something, is causing problems in this team. The camaraderie is gone. The ethos that the came through the last 14 years is gone. Look at the warm up before the game. No laughing and joking. Just go through the motions. During the game players spend more time bitching at each other than actually playing. There is no partnerships and there is no reading and understanding each other. There simply is no TEAMWORK. And that goes from the top of the tree to the bootboy.
  20. I thought Imrie was doing ok but often found himself with nobody to release to. Strikers dont seem to know how to run into space. Hearts got lucky early with a bad defensive mistake from Grant, though McGuire could have done a lot more to cover. After that Mike had a very good save and that was it. I dont see Munro and McGuire as a successful partnership. Blackie played his heart out again but to no avail. Why he was replaced instead of Cowie I'll never know. Cowie was about as effective as a band aid on a slit throat. Barrowman and Rooney were also pretty ineffective. Is there something in Rossco's contract that prevents him from passing to Barry. On four or five occassions Barry had a whole quarter of the park to play in but Ross refused to release to him. Once again I struggle with a number two or three in the player of the year poll but my MoM was Ian Black.
  21. Radio Tay has him as the next manager at Dens
  22. P, the biggest culprit in this is Ike. Hence the reason for Esson who can read whats in front of him and throw out when he see's someone in space. Ike isn't there yet but no doubt will learn in time.
