  2. He'll have a new contract by christmas with comments like that
  3. Interest is only earned when the accounts in the black
  4. Careful mano..................your positivity could be contagious
  5. It is my belief that we turned down higher offers, not because we wanted to but, because Niculae knew where he wanted to be and it wasn't any of the clubs who made offers. He went home for personal reasons. Seems to me those reasons were to sort out a deal for himself and ICT. Where will the cash go...........club debts most likely. Very strange the accounts haven't come out yet, nor even notification of shareholders agm. Brewster is well aware of the need for another central defender and he may have someone in mind but whether he'll get any more cash than has already been budgeted remains to be seen. And who is available anyway?
  6. Was it not Brew who got shot of him? Hissy's biggest problem was always a fondness for partying.
  7. And may the best team win.....................the one with Caff in it

quote from Brew taken from P & J to answer your question Marty. Adam Rooney is not really on trial, I have invited him over to Denmark for the week and it more about seeing whether he is happy coming up to Inverness.

Ross, you obviously dont know me or CaleyD very well. We have agreed to differ on more than one occassion over the years and will do again. Don, the one difference this season from last, and indeed from his first spell, is that he is making pretty major changes by ICT standards and I think its the result of those changes that he should be judged on. As you well know I wasn't a fan of his return but I will get behind him so long as the important results come good. As for getting Rooney on loan, there will be some reason for this that is between the player, Stoke and Inverness. Loan deals happen for all sorts of reasons. We took Denzil back on loan before signing him which, considering his contract at Hearts was coming to an end anyway, seemed a strange deal. They could easily have released him but chose not to. These things happen all the time in football.

rossco23, neither you, I, or anyone posting on this forum has any idea who will be the first choice players, who will be in the squad come the end of august, or how they will all perform as a team so to throw 'lost the plot' remarks at Brewster at this stage is being a little bit niave and stupid. Lets give the team a chance to see how the first part of the season goes before hurling abuse.

Stephen Caldwell, who incidently is Gary's brother, left Sunderland at the start of last season and is now club captain at Burnley. And on considerably more than ICT could pay him. As for most of the rest, put another 4000 bums on seats every week and we could just about afford them.

I believe he's got a year to go at Stoke but isn't gauranteed first team football. A transfer would require a fee + compensation under the U-24 rule but if he decided not to re-sign at Stoke next season and stay with us we'd only need to pay any comp if we sold him on before he's 24. Thats my understanding anyway.

According to Brew in P&J Rooney's not really on trial. He was invited to join the team in Denmark so he can assess the ICT set-up and to see if he would fit in. Reading between the lines the contract is already drawn up if the lad accepts it.
  14. Dublin University College 2 Dundee United 1
  15. I dont believe he was ever offered anything at ICT to turn us down. I believe also that he did indicate to all other clubs that he was looking for a player / coach role and that EF were the only club to offer such.
  16. I believe this is a closed doors game. Its against Nordsealand who's facilities the team are using.
  17. Jim Duffy done an excellent job at Dundee. Unfortunately administration, and the need to get rid of a lot of players, prevented his good work continuing. Nobody will ever know if Jim would have taken the Dee back into the SPL but when he was sacked they were top of div 1. Jim is an excellent tactician and reader of the game. Having coached at both Chelsea and Portsmouth he has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience.
  18. Come on guy's!! We've now got nice new storage units in the portacabin :023: :tic01:

    And your source is??
  20. I would never having taken Brew back and thats nothing to do with his record as a coach. I wouldn't have taken Robbo or Pele either. Warnock, I dont believe was ever on a shortlist. Whilst Brew is in charge I'll support his position but if he goes or is pushed then I'd be pleading with Jim Duffy to take the job on. Unfortunately its very unlikely that I'd ever be invited onto the board.
  21. Triallists are a common part of modern football. Players get released from clubs, agents try and tout them and clubs ask to see them. Many's a time in the past a player would be recommended or signed on reputation on the field but would turn out to be a bit of an idiot of it. Giving a trial allows both parties to assess how they'll fit in. It gives coaches an idea of training workrate, temprament etc. Can only be a good thing all round.

So if you like to dance you must be gay. About 90% of the worlds professional footballing fraternity mus be gay then cos you'll find them strutting thier stuff in every night club around. Including Inverness clubs.
  23. Esson has always been good as a stopper, he's always been good at dealing with cross ball's, his positioning and command of the goalmouth will get better as he gets used to his defence. His one downfall, from what I seen, is his inability to deal with passbacks under pressure.
  24. First the long ball................is it a tactic or is it a panic measure from nervous defenders? Use of subs........................I remember the days when a sub was only used to cover for injury. People are aye shouting for changes with half hour or more to go so lets do that. Between mins 45 and 60 we use three subs. Between mins 60 and 70 a couple of bad tackles go in and we're down to 9 on the field. I believe a team should go out and be able to play for ninety mins without change. The research should be done and the team selected based on that.
  25. Nice to see your alive and well Johndo. You'd been away so long I thought the Highland March must have taken too much out of you :001:
