  1. Nor this year
  2. Johnboy, I dont believe either of the three you mention would have taken us anywhere further than CC did. This is the big league now and for at least seven of the teams in it survival will always be the first priority. Robertson took Pele's team to SPL. Brewester kept us there. The only one of the three who could claim to have taken us upward is Pele.
  3. Mr Smith, in my mind, has absolutely nothing to do with this situation. My cynical mind see's attempts to pull strings. i.e interference from the heavens.
  4. If Brewster was to take the position I doubt very much whether he would register as a player. Newspapers and TV will list all the same old favourites as they do any time a vacancy arises. Personally I doubt if Pele would take the job. Robbo would cost us too much in compensation. If Donald Park was to stay in his present capacity then I'd maybe suggest his Fort William buddy alongside him......Duncan Shearer. However, if he could be persuaded I honestly believe Bobby Wilson could do the job.
  5. How about bringing Bobby Wilson out of retirement with Barry as his No 2. :tic01: Yep stupid suggestion.......................but not half as stupid as some that have gone before me.
  6. I just hope that those who added to CC's pressures with their comments on this site realise now that serious damage could have been done to this club. Think back to how long it took for previous managers to start getting results from the team they had to work with and wonder how far behind we could be before we get fluidity within the team. Those previous managers had the assistance of Charlie to guide them through the early stages of their employment. The next guy doesn't.
  7. Charlie Christie brought stability and continuity to this club at the times when other managers chose to 'better' themselves elsewhere and contrary to what some people may think he and Donald Park were a success over the last 19 months. Personally I would have liked to have seen Charlie complete this season, at least, to show the doubters that he can build a successful team. Alas! thats not to be so I wish him and his family every success and happiness for the future. Charlie, you can leave with your head held high. roscoe23....grow up.
  8. Just trying to put a little humour to a humourless situation matey.
  9. Does it say 'Johndo's had a few vodies' perchance. :023:
  10. First of all Charlie Christie is not employed as a manager. He is Head Coach and Donald Park is Assistant Head Coach. Between them they are responsible for puting the team on the park. Graham Bennett, as Director of Football, is the one who does the hiring and firing. And this may be where the problems are arising at the moment. A few questions to ponder: Is there conflict about who should be sold on to allow us to bring in others? Is there conflict about who CC wants to field and who he's told to field? Is there conflict between players and coaches? Is there conflict between the established, regular players who have had to battle to keep their positions and those who come straight into the team? Personally I wonder is there more to our problems than just the loss of a couple of players. I can understand the frustrations of fans but until we know the truth of the problems then we shouldn't resort to being hostile towards each others opinions.

Like you I'm still waiting KK
  12. And I still believe we will.
  13. We dont actually have a god given right to win any game in this league. Every team is going to fight for the spoils and its the best team for 90 mins each week who will win out. The wins will come. Trust me I'm a health and safety specialist and I predict we will be healthy and safe.
  14. Final season in div 1 we were top, slipped back to 4th or 5th then one the fecker
  15. Its cos they were jealous that other teams had stars so they invented their own reason to copy.
  16. .....has brought us a player from Dingwall, one from Gillingham, one from Swansea, one from Romania and may yet bring one from Derry. We've trialled a Frenchman and an Austrian. That would indicate to me that there are people out there looking on our behalf. There is a shortage of quality CD's at the moment and has been for some time. Bet Falkirk wish they could find one as well. Cant really blame the management if there's nobody about who wants to come to us. The cry now goes out to play Steven Watt. Ok he could be a superstar but what are his achievements to date......Two first team appearances for Chelsea, a start against lower league opposition in FA cup and as a sub in a league game, three starts at Barnsley where he picked up three yellow cards. And two appearances at Swansea before he was injured. I hope I'm very wrong but none of that tells me we've signed what we need.
  17. I'd ask camelot to pay me out in cash.........used ten's and twenty's.
  18. Yes we should have replaced him.....perhaps we have in Watt, that remains to be seen but loads of people are coming on here and stating the obvious yet I haven't seen one good suggestion as to WHO should have replaced him.

I can confirm the venue as Charleston
  20. Purely tactical. Montrose were playing well till the last third where the Stranraer defence were dominating.

You'll be laughing at the other side of your face come 4.45 saturday.
  22. Today I blame the St Mirren goalie. We must bear in mind that a number of changes came about this season and some players, either are not good enough, or just have not had long enough to gel. Caff, for one, seems to be not quite up to it yet and I believe thats due to lack of matches at this level. According to Scotties report we had a number of chances but just couldn't find the net. Thats always been a problem area for us. Yes we need a proven central defender but there aren't too many about at the minute. I wouldn't be too despondant at the moment. We've had bad runs before and come through and there's a long season to go yet.

Summer football no. However I would support a winter break.
  24. According to the listing on the official ICT site we have 12 midfielders and they are all named in the poll. I have no intention of distinguishing between attacking and defending mids. I just list them as they come.
