  1. Last season was last season and the reason for Dargo's tally then was Brewsters ability to hold up the ball and slot it through. This season Dargo has scored 8 from 20 starts. Bayne 5 from 20. To me there is nothing 'prolific' in that.
  2. Inspector Mann would never allow her fella to come back here. Not after the abuse she got when he left. :003:
  3. Here's a thought. Dargo was upset, and expressed his thoughts in the press, that Barry got in his way and stopped him trying for a hat-trick. Even spouts of that he's going to have words with Barry on monday morning? Is this sort of attitude good for morale in the dressing room. Does the management want such bigheadedness in the squad? To be perfectly honest I believe that CC and Parky dont want the tag of running with someone elses team so they intend to allow some to go and bring some new blood in and by the start of next season we will be playing with their team. They know which ones are committed to us and which ones are stalling on contracts etc. in the hope of offers elsewhere and they probably know who else they will get into the squad between now and next season and I would envisage quite a changed team to what we've had. The measure of success will always be avoiding relegation but the ambition will be to get as high up as possible and I believe we will see some good times on the way.
  4. I think at times CD that us laypersons tend to conclude that when mention is made of wage structure and enhanced offers we tend to link them together. In truth an enhanced offer could easily be made without breaking from the wage structure. i.e. a players total package is structured to include a signing on fee, a term of contract, a basic salary and various bonus's based on things like appearances, wins etc. This is the wage structure that a club will try and stick to. Whereas an enhanced offer could easily mean a little more money in basic, a little more in signing on fee, longer term contract and may even include the club paying the agents fee. It may be that the enhancement is x £'s a week more but the deal is for a longer term. This still fits in with the structure because if, for example, we offer another £300 a week for a three year deal, in two and a half years we will have paid the guy £39k extra before he comes back to the table to negotiate further, whereas, if we give him £200 a week over two years, although we pay him less (£15600) after eighteen months he's going to be back looking for another signing on fee and even more money which would likely, if we want to keep him, result in us paying out even more in the long term. Does all that make sense?
  5. Should be Davie Moyes but there's no way he'd take it for the pittance the SFA pay so it will be Jim Jeffries. (Remember you heard it here first folks)
  6. They're only signing 12 full time players in the hope of a serious drive for the highest possible position they can achieve this season and a serious drive for promotion next time.
  7. The official report as at friday 12th is that Marcus signed a pre-contract on wednesday night after agreeing terms with ICT and will be joining us at the end of the season. However, Charlie and Grazza are in talks with Cowdenbeath in the hope of having the lad released before the window closes.
  8. Personally I think Bayne / Wyness are becoming an excellent partnership but that said and going back to the title of this thread perhaps we should go Bayne / Dargo as they are the most prolific scoring strikers this season. I cant be ersed looking back over match reports when when the latter pairing was the choice but I think that had it not been for Bayne's involvement Dargo's count wouldn't be so high.
  9. Barry's contract is a rolling one year deal reviewed before the start of each season. Provided he still has the urge and fitness he'll always have a job. I was speaking to him last year when he was injured and he was confident that he would be able to stay competitive for a few years yet. I think Brewster inspired him to stay in shape. I believe he is also very much involved with youth coaching and doing his badges at the moment which will see him in good stead to step into a coaching role in the next year or two, be it with us or elsewhere.
  10. Hasn't CC signed three players so far? Rankin, McSwegan and now Put~a~line~on. Official site says the latter is on a pre-contract though.
  11. I thought it was only two U-21's that were required but if its three then the problem was solved with the inclusion of Soane for Zander. Will be more difficult in March when Blackie hits 22.
  12. Firstly I dont think CC has ever slagged of the supporters of the club. These are the 3500 or so that do make the effort, maybe not every week for one reason or another, to get to a fair few home games. I think there are a number of issues that disappoint. Firstly, ask yourselves, if we get to a cup final how many will attend. If we play Rangers, Celtic or Aberdeen how many attend. How many buses full of football fans leave the area every saturday to attend the twins of evil matches. Realistically I would have thought that if we could frequently get gates of 3000+ for lower league games then being in the top league would have boosted it by a lot more than it has. I dont know the answers but I would have expected that after three seasons in SPL we would have managed to increase our gates by at least 500 or so. Alas it hasn,t happened. Some blame our pricing but the fact is our prices aren't much different to the other SPL teams. Some blame the carparks but the problems in the carparks are caused as much by selfish motorists as by the club or the stewards. Some blame other means of getting to the stadium, i.e buses from town. A number of pubs ran buses to the stadium, indeed some still do, but they were underused and so discontinued. Instead of everyone coming on here and slagging of the club, or fans, or carparks or other posters, why not come on and make sensible suggestions that would help the situation.
  13. Marcus is becoming a quality player and should prove to be one of those who will show CC up for the astute manager he is. The lad did near lose his leg after suffering a blood clot when he broke it. Not sure if that was at Aberdeen. He has now fully recovered and has benifited greatly from Mixu's guidance and the support of Cowdenbeath. I can see him going on to be a Finnish national squad regular. Excellent signing so long as his style can fit in with ours.
  14. Lets really compromise here and chant CALEY JAGGIE. IHE, if it wisnae fer the Jeggies there widnae be an ICT. O2 O2B O2B a JEGGIE :016:
  15. Sorry to hear of your problems ymip. I was in the shop at that time and got my tickets from Tess no problem (first desk in the door on left). Even got my name printed on ticket.
  16. Cambell Money see's this lad as having potential but in need of full time coaching so he uses his contacts at Hearts Youth. Nothing really new in that but will the lad ever make a Hearts first team player. Personally I think he speaks with the wrong accent for that. 'mad vlad' will see this as no more than bolstering his youth policy in the eye of the SFA

Your oh so cynical Don :003: But thats exactly how I read it.
  18. Firstly, I posted this link in the hope of getting some discussion on the positive aspects of the article. Things like keeping players, but everyone has jumped on the pricing of tickets. ymip, I arrived at the stadium at half two for St Mirren game, went into shop, which is also the ticket office, and purchased my two tickets with no problem whatsoever. I also know they were still selling at ten to three. CC does not have anything to do with pricing structure, thats for the Chief Exec and his team. We are not the most expensive but I do agree that we should have a pricing structure based on where we sit etc. Someone quoted Wigan prices. Yes they did half theirs. From ave £40 to ave £20 for the next seven games, only one of which is seen as a glamour match v Newcastle. I have friends who are Portsmouth fans and regularly pay £45 to watch their team. For the Chelsea's and Man U's they'd be lucky to get a ticket for under £60. When drawing comparrisons with Falkirk people should bear in mind that quite a few very large Central Belt companies provide financial support to Falkirk. When next at their stadium look around at the advertising boards. Falkirk has been established for a lot of years and has a decent fanbase. Their figures went down when they got relegated but, as can be seen from this year compared to last, they are on the increase. In the season before they were relegated average gates were over 8000. If they survive this season then I can see them heading towards that again.
  19. Sneck Courier Today Lots of positives in that article.
  20. I'm quite sure the Aberdeen police will have read this warning also, and will have the area covered.
  21. The rest couldnt get through the super high tech turnstiles :015:
  22. Dundee United or St Mirren at Sneck
  23. Feb 8th told me a couple of months ago that ACE were taking over all the stewarding. Most of the Rock Steady guys are shipped in from other areas so cant see them changing to ACE. I reckon the thing that won the contract for ACE was the way they handle carpark management.
  24. Hey chris, this is the where we drinking and partying parking thread. No football talk here please :004:
  25. If we can offer him a little more during contract negotiations I believe he will stay.
